Was in there again last night. Good crowd, decent atmosphere, not even the slightest hint of any aggro. Plus loads of older crumpet all done up to the nines - lovely!

I meant to mentiont this the other week but was talking to the landlord of the Beehive in the Oak after Leeds game the other week. So he's a Charlton fan. Bonus.

He used to be my boss years ago when i worked in the Marlow Rooms.

I've driven past there on a Friday evening a couple of times recenently, looked really busy with a load of older punters - 35-45ish. I think it oporates a 25+ policy. I may give it a try soon.

fell backwards from the top of the stairs to the entrance in the marlow rooms.

Bouncer said he's never seen anyone go down so quickly since Nolly boxed here :-)

I did the bar at a few boxing do's. We are talking about 86ish.

Yes Chirpy he told me about his door policy and the amount of people he has "moved on". This gent has owned a few very well known local establishments and is definitely set on having an older crowd in there.

T's!! Oh Curb_it! You've made me feel old again. Polo= Jolly Drayman I guess? I went there when it was The Drayman when they dropped the Jolly.

It seems that maybe The Beehive has taken over from places like The Bulls Head, The Crown and The Sydney Arms where that crowd of 40/50 somethings go on a Friday night. A sort of unofficial singles pub for divorcees. A couple of my mates used to be in that kind of crowd inbetween relationships and had a fine old time!!

Did anyone ever go to The Darenth Tavern, as a teenager I distinctly remember an advert at the pictures for it. Lots of "stills" offering Live Music and Good Beer. Always thought I'd go there when I was older, never did.

I was in there a couple Saturday's ago after Leeds, it's technically my local but still seem to go into Chislehurst for a drink. Was impressed though, a good crowd, no aggro, was very welcoming and will go again.

Sorry. Yes i was there when it was the Drayman. These guys when they bought it turned it into the Polo Bar.

Apparently the Black Prince on a Friday night (not sure if its every friday) is a place for the older single/unhappily married people - apparently the rooms upstairs are always booked out.

The bar & function room at Barnehurst golf course used to do the same type of thing on a friday night. Straight off one hole and into another.
