[cite]Posted By: redweasal[/cite]Lets face it although we have these crippling debts, the club has to get reasonable and accept they have two options. Work to keep most of the squad as well as fing somebody who knows where the net is. Or cut back for the money accpet we are league one and strip us down and fight relegation next year as well.
I thought the same was being said last year?

Here's the list of the first to leave from the official website:

Leon McKenzie, Matt Spring, Chris Dickson, Dean Sinclair and Jack Clark will all leave The Valley following the expiry of their deals at the end of June, while Tony Warner's short-term contract ends next week.

The futures of the remaining Addicks players who are out of contract this summer will be considered at the next board meeting.

It did not work out for Mooney last season and if we have two strikers that played for us again this coming season we have as good as put the nail in the coffin and slamed the lid shut.THINK AGAIN.

Semedo and Racon must be kept....Bailey I think will go if a London club comes in for him, but he said he didnt want to leave, but its ultimately out of his hands of course.
Jose also said he didnt want to leave and hoped he would still be playing for us next season.

    [cite]Posted By: Clem_Snide[/cite]Reading 850k + Mooney for the pair.

Little bit of gossip from the Peacock golf day.

Probably rubbish but thought I'd pass it on.

Personally think that would be daylight robbery. Although we could stich Southend up on the Bailey sell on clause and say we swapped him for Mooney!.

Didn't realise you were there too - were you on Photography duty again?

I wonder if the person that told you that is sitting back and laughing at this now and watching how rumours start? Who said it?

Does it really matter who told me?

Notice I put "probably rubbish, but thought I'd pass it on anyway" in the original post. People can come to their own conclusions.

There will be rumours all summer. 99% of them will be nonsense. So what, it's all part of the fun of the close season.

Tell 'em to piss right off with that...

I'd want a mill for bailey
    and minimum 750k for jose

Or 1.25m + Michail Antonio would do :)

I can't comment for Semedo but Bailey has shown no loyalty to either Barnet or Southend so if a championship side came calling, why would we expect him to show any loyalty to us? Murray has said a couple of players will be sold and now Shelvey has gone he's probably our most sellable player. To be honest if Bailey is still with us at the start of next season i will be amazed.

  • Bailey and Semedo will both be gone and I had put a figure of £500K on each, so this offer is only £150K shy of that. It's a shame as Semedo especially will go on to be a great player but we are desperate and will never get full value (as per Shelvey).

there's no question of 'if' bailey is going, more like 'when' and 'how much'. this isn't down to loyalty it's down to needing money to avoid administration.

Bailey will go, hopefully £1m+ as I suspect Southend will get some

Out of the others commanding a fee I would prefer Racon and one of the keepers.

Get rid of the deadwood like Dickson, Moo2

Beg Sam and Burton to sign on reduced terms

    Beg Reid to sign

Find a superstar striker for peanuts

    Job done

Imho Jose could has the enough ability to easily get into a prem team... I'll worship him as god if he's still here next season

    I agree.

I wouldn't mind having David Mooney sign permanently for us though. I think he's an honest hard working player and thought he was decent during his loan spell. Not a 25 goal a season man but definately a decent squad player who can chip in with a few goals during a season and always gives an honest effort. If he were to start in August as a Charlton player I would not be disappointed. Shown a bit of confidence I reckon he could grab 10 goals in a season and provide the legs for an older striker. Either way I appreciate his efforts for us in 2009/10.

Clubs know we are on the verge of admininstration and will look to take advantage of that.

We would do the same and why not. Other clubs should be trying to acquire assents at knockdown prices - that's what a well-run business does.

We've managed to negotiate some decent deals in the past (Bent to Spurs) so let's just hope the board can squeeze out a few extra grand on whoever does go.

After Monday, Bailey and Semedo look the 2 that will attract interest. Racon's poor 2nd half of the season may have put a few people off him.

I've also heard that we really want to keep Semedo.

I'm sure Bailey will go though & as Racon is on a big wage and didn't perform too well this season (and is possibly not a "team" player)I can see him going as well.

Not many midfielders in league/championship footballers can offer the goals that Bailey can. If someone gets him for 500k then that's a bargain for them. And most certainly another long thread dedicated to the board's lack of selling skills!
