CL Shirt Sponsorship - Dinner 5th May **CAN YOU COME TO THE DINNER? RESPONSE NEEDED**

Hi All,

This year we raised enough money, through donations from members, to sponsor 5 players shirts.

All that money goes to the help the Club while in return CL get 10 places at the end of season dinner as well as the five shirts themselves.

There was also a little bit of money left over for some smaller prizes such as signed balls and books from the Club shop.

There is a very long thread about it all but I thought I would start a fresh as well now have the date for the dinner.

If you weren't a member back at the start of the season then don't worry. While you can't join in this season I'm sure we'll think about doing the same thing next season if there is demand. .

The dinner will be held at the Valley on the evening of Thursday 5th May. All the sponsored players and management will be there. A hot meal from the carvery is served.

The players we sponsored are: Christian Daily - Training kit, Kyel Reid - Away, McCormack - Home, Eccleston - Away and Jenkinson - Away.

OK, we know, we know. Most were chosen by a vote on here and when Abbott left we felt Jenkinson would be an ideal replacement. Silly us.

We'll make a public draw to decide who gets which prize before the Leyton Orient game on 2nd April in the Liberal Club. If you want to come along and watch (and meet some Lifers) you are very welcome but we'll let everyone know on here who has won what.

If you can't make the dinner please let us know in advance so we can re-draw those prizes.

We think that is fairer way of doing it as the dinner place goes to a another Lifer rather than being passed on to someone who didn't donate.

SO THOSE OF YOU WHO DONATED PLEASE TELL CURB-IT IF YOU CAN MAKE THE DINNER OR NOT BELOW.

Once again a huge, huge well done and thanks to her for chasing the money and keeping the spreadsheet up-to-date as well as buying the extra prizes. My small contribution of liaising with the Club pales into insignificance in comparison. As a special thank you to her we managed to blag an 11th dinner place so Curb-It can attend.

Not at all, we'll post all the results up on here. Just a chance for a few people to meet up and say hello if they want.

Draw will probably be about 2.10

I think we should look to do something else next season. 2 reasons

Firstly - We appear to jinx everyone we sponsor
Secondly - For that kind of money we might be able to sponsor a minibus for one of the younger teams

    just a thought

Good points but something to ponder on over the summer plus you can't raffle a minibus.
