I wouldn't tell a Frenchman that he was German, but I would tell him he was a European (as well as being a Frenchman).
Please don't go down the European route, because I might say something I will regret.

What I meant to say, of course, is that it's hammering down in Bexley.

Ha ha - here too. My little just started crying her eyes out when "Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom" cut out - although it at least provided some relief from the tedium for me!

Oh, I just drew back the curtains - much brighter now ;-) It's still falling down though!

According to Met office statistics, for rainfall, Cornwall gets 50-75% of the national average whilst London gets 33-50%, so actually your good weather and our bad weather is slightly anomolous.

Heavy rain, all over & done with in 10 mins in Barnehurst.

Can hear sirens in the distance though. Wonder if McCormack was knocked to the ground by the force of the rain and can't get up.

Lincs did you know that Grimsby is of Viking origin?

Even today in Danish, Grim is the word for ugly. And by is the word for town.
Big joke amongst the Danes, regarding the meaning of Grimsby,

    Are they right?

    (Blimey, I am bored today)

I did know that Oggy. There is a big bronze statue of Grim the founder of Grimsby just outside the town centre. A lot of towns around here and into Yorkshire end in 'By', and you'll find alomst none in the south where 'Thorpe' and 'Ham', the saxon equivalents are more common.

Grimsby is quite cut off from the rest of England, miles from anywhere. I would say that even today there is a very strong viking bloodstrain in the area. Lots of big busty dishy blondes, and that's only the geezers !!!

My mate comes from up that way. Hands like shovels and looks very fetching in a Viking helmet!
