Thanks Mr Cawley Sadly it still won't stop people wetting the bed on this thread .
Been saying that since the ridiculous posts started don’t need Cawley to confirm it ..social media is dangerous to many people believe everything they read common sense goes out the window .. then its the old Chinese whispers but on a massive scale …..
Lovely business to be in if you can lay those two at those prices and make a profit doing that let alone if someone else gets the job. £10 moves those market and perhaps, for those reasons, we should take those odds with a pinch of salt. Each backer at those prices must be almost certain that he is getting the job given those odds for Jones and Ramsey suggest that one has a 67% chance and the other a 40% chance of getting it.
With that in mind, I will recount a story from years ago. I used to work with the cousin of a candidate for a high profile managerial position. He was told that his cousin had the job and that there was going to be a final meeting to sort out the small print. So he lumped on and single handedly moved the Betfair market (which bookies will take notice of). Now, when I say "lump on", we are talking life savings, overdraft, anything he could get his hands on in fact.
Then he and others heard, over the course of a weekend, that there was a stumbling block in those discussions. And that candidate drifted and drifted. Panic set in to the extent that he felt compelled to lay him in the Betfair market to try and get some money back at much bigger prices too as the drift continued. His book was as deep a colour of red he could have been. On the Monday his cousin was appointed manager and he was left with, instead of a substantial profit, a big loss.
Nothing is certain until a manager actually signs on the dotted line. Neither Jones nor Ramsey are probably anywhere near doing that even if those prices suggest they are.

We should all pile in with 50p bets either on Nathan to get the job and move the market even more, or back somebody not already in the running.and wind up another club’s fans
He’s repeatedly talked about learning from experiences at Southampton and Stoke and having to rebuild his reputation from going into the wrong situation or not being given time to build something. While he’s emotional, he’s also ambitious and an intelligent guy a Cardiff move now would be a huge risk to his rebuilt reputation IMO very boom or bust. I just can’t see him taking that risk.
Once the great Cardiff Jones saga is finally tucked in with a bedtime story and a warm glass of milk, we can all return to a glorious summer of social media 'in-the-knowers' confidently announcing our next transfer, debating whether someone’s wife fancies a move to Woolwich, and of course—because it's tradition—leaking payslips on X like it’s a Premier League HR department. Can’t wait!
Well all know one way or another in the next couple of days.
ASAP. And after some obscure social media outlet, possibly a 6th former in his bedroom, states Sunderland want Ramsey we can move on to that speculation 🤦🏻♂️
There is no interest from Sunderland for those of you who didn't understand my post and are demanding a refund on your Ramsey Scarves 🤷🏻♂️
Can this stupid story stop distracting our manager and the recruitment team now.
We're supposed to just be signing players while the squad go on holiday.
Nathan jones, agent curbs and kieth peacock should be in Nigeria pulling up outside the home of the next 18 year old yaya toure with a pen and paper in their hand.
Just searched to see if anyone has odds up for our next manager and all I saw was when Jones was appointed for us he was 1/2 “which implies a 66% chance of it happening”….gulp
Have we suddenly decided that bookies are in the know and made a choice to completely ignore the fact that odds are dictated by where the money is being placed?
Don’t shoot the messenger hearing that jones could only be moving if he doesn’t get what was promised. According to my source the board are only offering a league one budget currently and of course if there is no ambition from the club I personally don’t blame him for walking. Oxford United had the lowest budget last year and spent 5 million in all my years of supporting Charlton I can’t remember spending near that. Serious questions ly with the board if you ask me wouldn’t judge any stories coming out when something deeper could be pushing the deal closer.
I don’t think for one minute these owners think last seasons league 1 budget will be sufficient in the championship and I have every faith they will support the manager.
These guys have serious money and while I don’t expect the club to be in the top 10 budgets I can see some decent investment being made in the squad.

That way, we'll be able to re-appoint him for nothing when they sack him just before pre-season starts.
Aarron Ramsey 6/4

What is Plan B?????
👏🏼We need to laugh but be Careful Athletico, you will be accused of being childish.
Let's see what the other source now has to say as well and if he back peddles as shamelessly as that.
Cawley as reliable as it gets, but I'll still worry a bit until Cardiff appoint someone.
Chris Wilder interviewed here and agreed to join before Sheffield United heard the news and took him. Never know what could change.
