The weakest attempt by a keeper to go for a ball I've ever seen.

Maybe United need to call back Vitek from Bristol City

Honestly got no idea , can't be that they're asking too much money.
I read this morning they were looking for £70m/season. Totally bonkers money and hopefully their income from the main shirt sponsor deal stays at where it currently is instead - £nil.

Until they reach the 18 yard box United look much more dangerous than Arsenal so far

See for me I just see a pretty poor standard of football.

    Good game though.

Yes maybe mate I’m just saying I’m enjoying the game it makes a change to see two teams going for it rather than the relentless sideways passing waiting for a mistake

God knows how Arsenal are winning this. They look absolute shite.

Hilarious how Arteta's Arsenal have turned into George Graham's Arsenal. Nick a goal from a set piece, then hang on.

League or European Cup or Arteta goes in my opinion

Both looked poor to me. Dunno how Arsenal fans could think this side can win the league.

They've become a very hard team to like as a neutral in the lastfew years, not that their players are unlikeable as such but they're very dour to watch at times and Arteta can be very unlikeable

    Last few years...?!?!

I actually think I despise Arteta more than I ever did Wenger!

Honestly got no idea , can't be that they're asking too much money.
They want about 60-65m a year, so very few companies are going to be willing to pay that.

60-65m?!!?? That's absolutely obscene. I assume the excuse from their end will be that's what the rest of the Big 6 get....

The going rate for a team like Chelsea would be more like £40-50m….. and that’s only because they are back in the Champions League. Liverpools Standard Chartered deal was $60m per annum, and then you have Arsenals which is at that point but also includes stadium too so Emirates arguably getting more bang for their buck.

Then you come to mid table prem …. And even that nowadays will be c£10-15m per year.

Newly promoted and smaller clubs more like £4-8m until they are more established in the prem.
  • This is a list of reported sponsorship values in Euros - https://financefootball.com/en/2024/08/26/top-10-biggest-shirt-sponsorship-deals-2024-2025/

I'd agree based on that, that Chelsea would probably expect something around £50m. Asking for anything more probably explains why they don't have one, but going into a second season without seems negligent. As surely you'd rather take 50m than hold out for 60m that you clearly aren't getting.
  • Saw a stat on twitter which surprised me.

In his last 14 Premier league games, Saka has 1 goal, 0 assists.
In his last 20 Premier league games, Palmer has 3 goals, 2 assists.

Both were rubbish for me in EPL Fantasy league last year so I am less surprised.  Neither did well this weekend either.

Tarkowski couldn't have done more to get his arm out the way.

Where is his arm supposed to go?

Replay showed he was actively moving it behind his back too.

What a ridiculous decision.  Where on earth is he supposed to put his arm?!
