    No we're not.

Pompey's game in hand is against Ipswich, they'll lose that, they also need to play Coventry.

Leicester and Pompey play eachother, Leicester also play Blackburn, and the other 2 games are Hull and Millwall, both playoff chasing sides.

Blackburns other games include Southampton and Coventry.

West Brom have a game against Wednesday and Ipswich, and play Preston next, very similar end of season games to us.

Oxford have to play Derby and Wrexham, chasing playoff places, and Millwall. Their other game is Wednesday.

Realistically, by the time we get to Swansea the amount of clubs below us that can leapfrog us will have ran out, due to them taking points off eachother and losing to in form sides way higher up the table.

1 win will definitely do it for us, 2 points even is probably enough still

We will be well out of the running for top two when we play Oxford (we already are) but confirmed top 6 so will probably rest players in preparation for the play offs.

See, all you lot on here who were praying we’d lose so we had no chance of top 2, could come back to haunt you 😉

All jokes aside I think you’ll stay up.  You should be able to beat Wednesday or at least pick up a couple of draws in the last four games and that will be enough.

Getting those 3 points is the issue though, as we had two winnable home games, and picked up NOTHING from them. If we don't get them next Saturday, that leaves 2 home games against promotion chasing sides, and as our home form has taken a real dip, they will be tough. So we might need a result at Swansea,

We could get points out of those games, but if we only draw at Wednesday and lose to Ipswich, we'll be going into the Hull game on a very poor run.

Where’s the win coming from then ? If a team scores once against us , best we can expect is a draw. .

Hopefully Boro can pull their finger out against Pompey 2mo.  They’ve been poor for the last 5/6 games bar the QPR away win

Not sure what Swansea will do at Leicester, nor Watford at Oxford.  They’ll both look at those fixtures and on the one hand think they’re favourable as neither team has anything to play for, but at the same time, games are running out, they have to try and win them.  Always fascinating the dynamics this time of year
Saturday is a weird day. None of the bottom 6 are playing each other and none of Leicester, Pompey and Oxford have particularly hard games. I have a feeling the gap between the bottom 4 and us will shorten by a few points.

However I dont think 2 of them will get enough points to overtake us & reckon we will be safe in a weeks time.
I was right about the first part but not the second.

I will start really panicking until 5pm next Sat if Pompey have got at least 4 points from their 2 games & we lose at Sheff Wed.

I watched at least an hour and they didn’t in that time. They were very poor.

Mixed feelings today. Them losing virtually guarantees us top 6. But I would’ve loved to have played them in the play offs. Always looked bang average to me whenever I’ve watched them this season.

Think you need to aim for Hull in the play offs.

Boro have looked turd, but get Hackney fully fit will help. And also I think play off football will suit them better when teams have go play a bit more open.

Hull you would beat comfortably over two legs I think

I’m not so sure. Hull looked good on the two occasions we played them.

We didn’t play too badly yesterday and got nothing. We will play poorly and get a draw/win - it’s how we roll

Maybe they should not try to play an expansive game, cause when we do we get beat, I hate the football were we  only get 25%  possession and maybe 4 or 5 shots but we grind out the draw, but it is points we require.
The current squad do not have the quality to play the ball on the ground, when we try we lose the ball to often with in 20 yards of our goal. The midfield get the ball and most of the time pass the ball back to the defenders who then get pressed and have to hoof the ball forward, normally to the opponents.

Boro would be the team I’d want to face if we were involved.   They’ve completely fallen apart.  Their record (particularly at home) over the last 2 months is terrible.  We beat them, Pompey beat them, Leicester and Oxford drew, and they drew with Bristol City prior to Hodgson stepping in, when City were in midst of their dire run.

i’m not sure about Hull.  Hard to predict what you will get

I seriously doubt they’ll hit anyone with a points deduction at this stage of the season.

This is starting to look like it could be the toughest play offs in years / ever. Usually there is one really in form team, or two as there was with us and Sunderland in 1998. This time there could be 3, 4 if you get your act together for the remaining matches. It could all simply come down simply to finishing 3rd or 4th and having the advantage of the home game second leg and getting the pick of ends  for fans and dressing room and shirts for teams at Wembley which makes the difference.

    Would certainly send a message.

The message being breaking the rules has severe consequences (unless you are Man City)
