1 more point.  And as we play twice before Oxford play again, it would be so nice to finish the season at The Valley on a high.

So confirmed relegated after tonight: Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday

Confirmed safe after tonight: West Brom, Portsmouth

Still involved: Oxford, Blackburn, Charlton though Oxford need six points from their last two to make this a conversation.
West Brom only safe if no points deduction.
A 2 point deduction could keep them up on GD.

Would be surprised if the WBA deduction was anything more than 3 points. More likely to be 2 and they'll be fine.

Make us safe now tbh. Absolutely blinding to just need one point from the next 3.
I don't trust us to get that, necessarily, but also don't think Oxford are getting 6 points.
Oxford home to Sheff Weds next.

And then watch Millwall implode in the final game, handing Oxford the 3 points - like they did against Pompey and Blackburn.

It's what Millwall do, when WE need them to win.

Ipswich have Us, West Brom, Southampton & QPR left
    millwall Have Leicester & Oxford

Bastards are gonna do it aren’t they

I know I'll get slated for saying this.......

But it some ways I would take losing tomorrow, assuming Millwall beat Oxford or we pick up a point against Hull or Swansea.
    Slate him!!  :D

No way. Anything could still happen in the last 2 games, lets get in done tomorrow. If have no interest in what happens to Millwall.

Am I the only one on here not stressing about the next three matches. Season is done. IMO, Oxford and Leicester will join Chef Wendy in League 1 next season
See .. Told ya. Nothing to worry about. All the pressure on Ipswich tomorrow in what is a must win game for them.

Great result for us re; Oxford.  It’s not over until we’re mathematically safe, but as it stands, the only team they can finish above on points now is Blackburn (WBA if they get a points deduction).  Blackburn could be out of reach if they get a result or at least a point tomorrow as then it will be GD.  Psychologically, that’s probably enough to finish them off, and they probably know deep down that tonight was almost the final nail in the coffin.

You’ve also got to factor in a very good Millwall team will go there on the last day with a chance of the autos.  If Ipswich slip up between now and the final day, Millwall could still do it.  There’s a lot of pressure on Ipswich to go up automatically, none on Millwall.  They play Leicester on Saturday, that’s got to be 3 points, they’re down and a mess.

We’ve still got to get a point, but tonight has been very good for us.  Let’s hope it gives the team the confidence to make a game of it 2mo.  It would be great to get a win under the lights to round off the season

    No pressure on us.

We won't even turn up 😔

If Millwall are going to get promoted the they’ll get promoted. We just need to do what we need to keep us safe and that’s winning or drawing tomorrow.

I would imagine Oxford will be feeling it's probably over but I'd like the point tomorrow night for sure. Millwall play Leicester Friday night so Ipswich have got a lot of pressure on them. It won't be easy but how do you think Nathan will set up tomorrow night.... Another backs to the wall.... Trouble is I don't think he knows any other way.
  • No gains tonight as we also lost at home to Wrexham.

However Oxford beat Ipswich at home in November so anything less is a swing in Oxfords favour vis a vis our results.   The fact a draw keeps us up and sends them down is very baffling.
    ??
  • Need 1 point from Ipswich desperate for 2nd place, tomorrow night; or from Hull desperate for 6th place, Saturday lunchtime.

If we can't achieve either of the the above, Oxford will take matters to the last day if they beat Sheff Wed, on Saturday afternoon.

Yes, as Ipswich win 4-0 and Hull win 2-1 at the Valley
and we lose 1-0 at Swansea.
Oxford stay up on goal difference after beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 and winning at Millwall 2-1 after Millwall prefer the playoffs and winning at Wembley.

    Try to keep up, Off_it.

I think backs to the wall, looking to hit them on the counter or via a set piece is the way to go. A point sees us safe, and we know Ipswich will want to keep hold of the ball. Do what we did against Soton or Boro and we're playing Championship football next season.

I think we should accidentally let Ipswich win 1-0 tomorrow, then get safety confirmed vs. Hull
(Wont be surprised if that happens regardless, or Oxford simply dont beat Sheff Wed)
Its a big silver lining if we lose tomorrow that's for sure - the gambler in me wants a defeat tomorrow and a point against Hull but tbh if i could take a win now and be done with it and stave off the prospect of league 1 i'd take it - realistically,  league 1 again will be more painful than the scum going up which might actually turn out to be an amusing horror show.

I think Millwall will do it now 😞

I don't think Ipswich are in good enough form to win all their remaining games & I think Millwall will win their last 2

EFL no doubt breathing a huge sigh of relief at West Brom's recent form and Oxford's result tonight.

Means they can now comfortably deduct 2-3 points to 'punish' them without any threat of legal appeals.

That's exactly what I expect and I wouldn't be surprised to see something this week now even.

Fuck Millwall.  Those Spanner mugs will fuck it up themselves, be it the play offs or in the Premiership.

Dear Nigel,  3 points from the Tractor Boys and make it a convincing 1 nil.

A night when the results went our way. We need a point. Hopefully tomorrow night we get there and we can maybe relax and play a bit of football. But this was a great evening to be a Chatlton fan.
Now back to the discussion about Millwall and their PL  push.

NJ licking his lips at the prospect of being able to celebrate safety tomorrow night without scoring a single goal...
He'll be lying awake tonight, dreaming of a triumphant nil nil draw.
