Anyone not wanting us to confirm safety is mad, we can easily lose our last 3 games and any chance of us going down is too much chance imo.36

I don’t think we really set up differently from game to game.peterreeves said:I would imagine Oxford will be feeling it's probably over but I'd like the point tomorrow night for sure. Millwall play Leicester Friday night so Ipswich have got a lot of pressure on them. It won't be easy but how do you think Nathan will set up tomorrow night.... Another backs to the wall.... Trouble is I don't think he knows any other way.We either concede first and early and look like also rans straight away or limp along with false hope ☹️0 -
Tottenham away,
to Wolves on Saturday. Big game.8 -
Just seen Ipswich next three games, and yes the miseries on here will say theyll
win tomorrow, but the next two are horrors, think it’s Millwall or Southampton to take now
1 -
Now the pressure is off and they're confirmed as relegated, Leicester will turn it on and beat Millwall, angering their fans even more who will wonder why they couldn't have played like this all season.

After tonight’s results I’ve revised the points total needed to stay up. 59 should do it20

I wonder if WBA still want their punishment delayed until next season like they were arguing…?9

It might even suit us, Ipswich are a flair side - and will dominate midfield and come at us.
They'll be desperate for the win.
NJ will be hoping they could be vulnerable on the counter.

100% they wouldn't be given a points deduction that would relegate themgolfaddick said:
A 2 point deduction could keep them up on GD.SuedeAdidas said:
West Brom only safe if no points deduction.Callumcafc said:So confirmed relegated after tonight: Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday
Confirmed safe after tonight: West Brom, Portsmouth
Still involved: Oxford, Blackburn, Charlton though Oxford need six points from their last two to make this a conversation.2 -
I can see Ipswich beating West Brom and QPR who have nothing to play for. I can see us (don’t laugh) grabbing a point. They may lose at Southampton. Millwall will win their last two games. It’s going to be very close and may be down to GD.sammy391 said:Ipswich have Us, West Brom, Southampton & QPR left

Table, after tonight's games...

At the pace we move the ball at, they could get promoted and relegated and meet us again in the 27/28 season and we’ll still be flapping around on the edge of their boxOggy Red said:

This is one of those games where NJ is absolutely right to set up to defend and try and nick a goal. No point whatsoever trying to match them up even if we could. A point for Championship survival! COYA......SDAddick said:
I think backs to the wall, looking to hit them on the counter or via a set piece is the way to go. A point sees us safe, and we know Ipswich will want to keep hold of the ball. Do what we did against Soton or Boro and we're playing Championship football next season.peterreeves said:I would imagine Oxford will be feeling it's probably over but I'd like the point tomorrow night for sure. I’d like to agree. I said weeks ago that we need to be safe and then we can roll out the red carpet to Ipswich. We’d look stupid if we lose and are happy about it, only to then still go down. It’s unlikely now but not unlikely enough. We have to aim for a final point until Oxford fail to win again.oohaahmortimer said:

It’s normally called daydreaming. Although if it’s done at night while awake, is it called nightdreaming?1 -
Great results tonight at our end of the table.
Not over yet but it looks very very promising.
Would be nice to go into the final game knowing we have nothing riding on it.2 -
100% safe

Yknow theres been lots and lots of other matches played this season don't you?swords_alive said:No gains tonight as we also lost at home to Wrexham.
However Oxford beat Ipswich at home in November so anything less is a swing in Oxfords favour vis a vis our results. The fact a draw keeps us up and sends them down is very baffling.0 -

To the rest of us the situation is very clear.1 -
In my ideal world, Millwall absolutely batter their play-off semi-final opponenent. Get to Wembley full of confidence. Go one nil up in the final early doors. Their oppo have a man sent off at the start of the second half and give away a penalty. Millwall score the pen and are 2-0 up against 10 men. The clock ticks round to 90...the fourth official puts up 8 minutes on the board, just as Crama inexplicably passes into his own net. The Scum start timewasting (well, I say start but they've been doing it since the pen and red card). The clock ticks round to 90+9.
With the last touch of normal time, the oppo bag an equaliser. The goalkeeper came up for a long throw and was hauled down....except he wasn't...it was a blatant dive but for some reason VAR didn't overturn it (yes, there is VAR in playoff finals). The oppo player steps up and smacks the ball hard...it hits the post...and comes back out and hits the scum keeper on the back of the head and trickles over the line.
Extra time ensues. After one minute the scum score a wonder strike. For the next 28 minutes it's all scum, 11 against 10. Their dirty, stinking bastard, motherfucking fans are on cloud nine....even the ones that are fighting amongst themselves regarding a coke deal gone wrong.
The clock is on 120+2. The scum are a goal up and a man up and have dominated extra time....hitting the woodwork no less than seventeen times...a Wembley record. But, as the clock ticks round to 120+3, the skies instantly darken and what appears to be an isolated mini-tornado whips the ball from the oppo penalty area into the scumbags' net. 2-2. Who'd have thunk it.
Pens.
The scum strike first. 1-0
The oppo miss. Still 1-0.
The scum are sure they're going up....as sure as they had been when they were odds on throughout the match.
The subsequent pens are scored until it gets to the last one. 4-3. Scum score, scum go up. But...who's this coming to take that fifth penalty?
It's Michael Fucking Gray. And he does what only he can do.
Up steps the oppo....and scores.
4-4
And.. .who's this coming up to take the first sudden death pen for the scum? It's Michael Fucking Gray again. The referee shrugs and allows it. Michael Gray does what Michael Gray does.
Oppo sudden death pen. They score, they win. The ref takes the pen himself, shooting into an empty net as he has just sent off the scum keeper for literally no reason.
And then I roll over to nuzzle my favourite actress.

just watched the highlights of the Leicester game, full time officially relegated and you could see those players couldn't give a shit, they'll be off somewhere else, but they looked like a group of five year olds you've just told have to pretend to look upset.6

I never thought Barnsley would win at Brentford, but they did and for five long years we had to suffer as a result.oohaahmortimer said:100% safe

I'd rather not have the prospect of coming on here to read your posts moaning about L1 football next season, entertaining though they usually are.😂

and I remember plenty saying palace will come straight back down when they were promoted and here we are with palace going in to their 14th consecutive Premiership season competing in Europe and an FA Cup under their belt . We can’t reverse that …I’ll be moaning about how shit the Championship is while our nearest and dearest are in the Prem.
We’re not going down , scum might go up .
For the greater good we have to take one tonight .
i’ll get you a league one season ticket next year if we go down , I'm 100% we won’t but you’ve got to make a £20 donation to the upbeats if we stay up !
Deal or no deal4 -
We’re gonna stay up and they will probably go up no matter what the Ipswich result is1
