He picks out Hamer, among others. So many mentioned Hamer as the key man before the game and this chap had higher expectations too. Did one of ours do a job on Hamer, or collective effort?

Did one of ours do a job on Hamer, or collective effort?Hamer is their best player, but O’Hare is also one of their best players and they play the same position, so Hamer ends up out on the left (or out of the team in Selles last game). I think the owners were hoping to sell Hamer this summer and maybe reinvest in the rest of the team, but it didn’t happen and they ended up panic buying poorly at the end of the window instead1 -

I think Wilder will probably do enough to at least keep them up by the end of the season but there's a distinct lack of overall vision compared to Jones’s very definite plan.3 -
They do have some good players but there is something missing. I can't see them getting promoted but they shouldn't be at the bottom. A problem they have is I think this is their final year of parachute payments. Mind you, Luton have a bigger problem in terms of that. And it is not a good look, sacking your manager, then sacking his replacement and bringing back the manager you sacked a few months earlier. It suggests a club which is badly run and rudderless.
Wilder should come out and say that this season is about staying up and next season is about having a push for promotion. A bit like Nathan Jones did with us but at a lower level.1 -

edited with even better image. huge gaping goal to aim at to GKs right, or the roof of the net, but that's going straight at the keepers body. that's not where you should be aiming for!!

Could we maybe get an experienced ex pro like Simon Church in to coach Tanto 1 on 1?4

Be nice if we could take more than one but this is still early season with a striker who doesn’t look confident. You hope that the goals will come more freely in the not too distant future0 -

I'm worried you’re serious
Look:
im saying the finish was all he could really do in that situation and with that little time. To say it was poor is wrong in my opinion0 - Sponsored links:

So Tanto gets the three point winner in the 90th minute away in the rain, but it wasn't a good enough goal.
On the up side the ball burst during the game.8 -
Just catching up with it all. I’m treating this as a 0-0 and 2 dropped points due to a shitshow of a finish by Tanto. Embarrassing.35

Arent strikers taught to aim between the legs and low on oneon ones? Finish was perfect0

Enjoyed some of the chants at the ground today. As you know, they also have a player called Tyreese Campbell ( notice the slight spelling difference) When he was on the ball, the Charlton faithful started singing, ' You're just a shit Tyreece Campbell, shit Tyreece Campbell.........'
The other one I enjoyed, rather childishly, was when Wilder came onto the pitch after the final whistle, and our fans started chanting ' Sacked in the morning, you'll be sacked in the morning....etc'
A perfect awayday performance, strong defensively, was impressed with Burkes performance, Bree had a few sloppy moments in the first half, but grew into the game and came on strong in the second half. Nathan's game changers came on and applied the pressure on their back line for the last ten minutes, resulting in the goal.
To cap it all I ended up on the train to Manchester with Steve Brown and Gavin Carter. They were off to Dumfries for the RSK AGM, on Monday, giving a presentation about how the sponsorship is going.
Steve Brown had organised the trains, using trainline, but their were gaps in trainlines information about the three changes they needed to make.
Using Realtimetrains, I was at least able to point them to the right train and platform at Manchester, hope they got to Dumfries OK. Call us trainspotters!
I've never met either of them before, Steve Brown was such a lovely fella, and he thanked me for sorting out the train connection at Manchester. Gavin Carter was also engaging, and asked me why I was a season ticket holder, living in Manchester. I now officially love Steve Brown, and Gavin Carter looks like a steady hand at the wheel.
Only downside, they were drinking Budweiser on the train! Shame on them!! What about some decent English beer.0 -

Just running at teams with TC feeding off scraps must be soul destroying for the lad. In six league games his average playing time is only an hour!
I really hope that Charlie gets some support perhaps from Knibbs if Carey gets pulled otherwise I'm dumbstruck as to why Nathan ever bought him.1 -

Just caught up with the whole thread , that’s a monster result and one more than needed .
Petrolhead went by coach and said they didn’t get up there till 2.30pm , apparently the coach driver doesn’t use waze/google maps ….div .
Said it was utter carnage when the winner went in he had two lumps diving on him during the celebrations, also wore a vape at some stage in the celebrations as well , not sure if it had come from Sheff Utd above .
The result is all that matters for us because all the huff and puff needs to produce points not ifs and maybes and our defensive side is firing on all cylinders with the attacking stuff not fully charged up yet, hopefully more to come on that side otherwise we’ll be in for a long hard campaign.
Petrolhead and me or Mrs , going to Derby and stopping down the motorway somewhere on the night before dumping him back off at school next day.0% Top 2

The whole team has to adapt to the higher level. It has done most of that very well and Jones alluded to the chance creation and finishing as something he thinks will come. I am happy for him to get on with it and am encouraged by the overall level I am seeing in this division which is higher of course, but not as strong as I expected.2

I hadn't looked at the table in much detail, apart from knowing where we are and who are the current bottom three.Obviously we're only 6 games in, but a great feeling to see we are currently above the likes of Southampton, Ipswich (do have game in hand), Norwich, Derby, and Sheffield United. That's a lot of talent and money who have not started as well as us.A long, long way to go, yet proud of this group of players to have fitted in to Championship life so quickly, and it's clear we're only going to get better.7

My flabber has never been so gasted reading that our striker who SCORED a goal, the winner I will add, is getting slated because "it wasn't a good finish and right at the keeper"
Scored the winner and still gets criticised....you cant make it up!!
Overall point is who gives a shit how it went in, just be happy it did and we won the game!16 -
