Yes because we don't really need match fit defenders now.RonnieMoore said:Do think this signing more for next season , doubt he play regularly but gives him time to settle in and get use to the British game0 -
Dont get the point in selling Mbick now we havent even got the time to properly spend any money
may aswell hold onto him and see again in the summer

What happens if he gets a long term injury .. ? and we lose out on a very good dealCharltontillidieCOYR said:Dont get the point in selling Mbick now we havent even got the time to properly spend any money

Is it? I like Joe and is a talent but he doesn't work hard enough for a Jones team.Gisappointed said:Aribo to Leicester is a blow.11 -
Might even mean Ramsay potentially playing LCB if Bell gets injured again?DDOUBLEE said:Ramsay/Sichenje

Always a difficult balance for a club like ours on when to sell a youngster. We tend to focus on players like Gomez, Konsa, and Lookman who were sold too cheaply because they went on to have such notable careers and made relatively few appearances in our first team, but there have also been plenty we've lost as youngsters, especially poached by Cat 1 academies, that haven't gone on to have particularly stand-out careers. Getting a decent fee now based on a player's perceived potential can be just as beneficial, if the money is used well, as waiting and gambling on a bigger fee being offered in a year or two.
Look at Leaburn for example - you're only ever a bad injury away from setting everything back and a few million for MBick might be enough to buy 3 or 4 players that could secure or cement our position as a Championship side.
Sometimes guaranteed cash in the bank is more favourable than possible but not guaranteed larger sums in the future.11 -
Don’t let Sonny Carey know.golfaddick said:worst kept secret. The world & his wife knew last week he had signed

Brighton have a tried and tested formula here and to me the sell-on % is crucial knowing what they have done in the past......Charlton43 said:In regards to Mbick, unless we’re a top club it’s always going to be hard to keep hold of talent. Hopefully it’s a huge fee and sell on % that will see us get a few through the door1 -

Has anyone mentioned they’ll be disappointed if Mbick is sold, unless it’s for an astronomical sum? I think it needs to be said12

Mbick has obviously done well at Colchester, but can’t help thinking he has to have improved drastically from what we saw in the limited viewings we have had of him. 5m would be very difficult to turn down, have a feeling is more of a Burstow than a Lookman personally.16

SSN reported that Brighton are working on a player they were trying to get in the summer, but trying now. A young player. Wonder who that might be? 🤷♂️0

I like the sound of Collins, welcome to the club. Hope he becomes a legend type figure for us.

The fact of the matter is, most on this forum were saying Mbick wasn't ready for the first team LAST season...Covered_End_Lad said:Mbick has obviously done well at Colchester, but can’t help thinking he has to have improved drastically from what we saw in the limited viewings we have had of him. 5m would be very difficult to turn down, have a feeling is more of a Burstow than a Lookman personally.

Definitely other stuff happening as the esteemed wordsmith Rich Cawley, would normally have a substack post up about Collins by now.12

As much as I hate the idea of The Valley becoming an enclave for the Scousers loanees, I’d be excited about Nyoni.
The exact profile we require in the middle.9 -
Re Mbick, hopefully we negotiate a years loan next season
we should take to money and run, we can use it to buy another 2.5 Kenyans3 -

Honestly surprised he's even available with the amount of injuries they seem to get in their first teamLaddick01 said:As much as I hate the idea of The Valley becoming an enclave for the Scousers loanees, I’d be excited about Nyoni.

I’d prefer a whole Kenyan not .5 of one🤷🏻♂️Todds_right_hook said:Re Mbick, hopefully we negotiate a years loan next season

He is leaving because he had a blazing row with Nathan Jones, the same Nathan Jones who has lost the dressing room. I got told that by someone who talked to someone who used to play for us and goes every week, so its really factual as the person still dresses up as a player and goes to the training ground every day..........including Sundays. Sorry but I couldn't resist.sillav nitram said:Has anyone mentioned they’ll be disappointed if Mbick is sold, unless it’s for an astronomical sum? I think it needs to be said12 -
No thanks to the loan, using a loan spot on a player that's only really played at league Two is a massive gamble. It's fine when it's your own player but sod giving Brighton a free training yearTodds_right_hook said:Re Mbick, hopefully we negotiate a years loan next season

Had enough of Collins now...who's next...3
