He’ll play RWB while giving us the option at LWB.golfaddick said:The Red Robin said:Promising. You’d think he’s going to play on the left as plan A. Hopefully there’s a plan to sign him permanently in the summer all going well.
Love this.YannTheMann said:Yeah happy with that as a replacement down the right and can actually play the position as opposed to being shoehorned like Apter
No idea if he will play left or right. 😂😂😂
Can’t imagine he’s signed to take the LWB spot a week after we brought Chambers in. Unless you’re desperate to throw Chambers away already (we aren’t).
Wouldn’t be surprised if our starting back five at some point looks like
Fevrier Ramsay Coady Jones Chambers
or
Fevrier Clarke Jones Bell Chambers3 -
Fair shout on Coventry. My thinking was he was exhausted and getting rest so may play more going forwardMarcusH26 said:
Actually wouldn't surprise me. I was thinking Coventry but he's not guaranteed to start , Burke and Bell would be the other 2 senior options but obviously aren't guaranteed to start.TheHerminator said:

Forgot we can remove Josh and Knibbs from the squad list , this last hour has been a bit of a nightmare to keep up with. Agree the Doc move will probably happen but if Lloydy is injured who's the skipper?ForeverAddickted said:MarcusH26 said:Would assume the Fevrier signing means Hernandez is gone. Struggling to keep up with all the squad juggling so I guess Tantos spot is earmarked for Coady tomorrow , Brooks takes AMBs and Fevrier takes Apters. Which leaves us at 25 still as it stands. Probably a few more outs to come.Docherty, and a replacement Midfielder in, would be the likely movementCould also remove Edwards and Knibbs from the squad list yet1 -
Cirque de solei will have a field day if Hernandez leaves, their currently making a new big top from the departing Jerome's shorts.1

If I'm trying to view this to be as positive as I can, it seems we've decided to reset the mood around the squad. I could see the logic in that given we are in a relegation battle and need everyone fighting together - apter/tanto not happy on the bench so gone, coady a bit of a leader type.
Where that leaves us on the pitch is another matter ... fairly sure we are in for a long old slog - let's hope it's enough1 -

Busy for a few hours, and of course I pick the busiest few hours of the entire window to be offline
Slightly confusing what the plan was, concerning the recruitment of Tanto and Apter in the summer, for both to be surplus 6 months later. Our "loaned out" numbers are getting ridiculous, we now have 5 players we paid money for out on loan.
Taylor, Ahadme, Mitchell, Apter, Tanto, 4 of which are still under contract for next season, 3 for longer.1 -
Seems like a bit of panic going on with Nathan Jones. No idea if Fevrier fits the mould of a Nathan Jones type player, whatever that is, but if he does why on earth did he sign Apter and Tanto in the summer. All looks a bit desperate to me. We had good form early in the season and worked our nuts off in games. Wonder what has changed around the place that we have gone completely the other way and look like we don’t give a shit. Sadly I don’t think Jones is the sort of bloke to look in the mirror. Fingers crossed these new players incoming hit the ground running because I think we only have a limited period to save our season.7

To sign some quality Championship players with experience. But that costs money so we've gone down the cheap & cheerful route 🙄TheHerminator said:
The alternative was keep trying what clearly wasn’t working.Gravesend_Addick said:Jones has literally decided to rip the squad up & start againSuch a huge gamble in January

Same question again. Who would anyone in that mould join a side fighting relegation?golfaddick said:

Doubt we'll ever see Godden and Kelman up top as a pair from the start. Has to be one and the other off the bench.8

Could we try that sort of deal with Sterling...😀mr.se7 said:
I would guess (no knowledge) that if we stay up, he signs - if we don’t, he won’t.TheHerminator said:

Apter and Tanto out temporarily, whilst bringing in a 23yo GK in Brooks, and a 22yo LWB Jayden Fevrier - who has played 2 or 3 games this season
WTAFBut still, absolutely baffling
- wingers are hardly used by Jones in the system unless they are Wing-Backs
- we’ve let one winger go, but decided to replace him with another random ones
- did we actually have any interest, or have Stockport offered him to us to push the Olaofe signing through?-we’re in a relegation dogfight, I’d hoped we would be bringing in more players of experience/ability
- we’ve signed the lad on a straight loan, so not even looking as if he’d be someone we want permanently
Also this smacks of a loan to perm surely? He’s quite highly rated and league one talent seems to be the place we are able to try to find talent0 -
We loan out two expensive recruits from League 1 because we feel they haven’t stepped up to the level…
…and replace one of them with a wing back who hasn’t been featuring much in League 1 (and no option to buy). We’re sleepwalking back there unless something very drastic is done this week

Course you love it pal, you've been dining off everyone being angry and miserable like yourself since Saturday 😂 and probably RWB but he play bothgolfaddick said:The Red Robin said:Promising. Unless NJ gets moved on, we won’t see either of those two players again, and the owners will be taking a haircut on both of them, the ones for the future strategy is going to backfire big time.0

I've generally been a "we're not in the relegation zone, and can sort a few of the issues in January" person.
But nah, f**k it, this has been an absolutely s**t transfer window and I think we may well go down.2 -

Pace + Power + Plays in a position we need to strengthen.Sword65pf said:We need championship quality players…….. yay!!! We’ve got Fevrier, why is he going to be more suited than the other two we’ve let go? Has he played in the championship before?
Apter is not a wingback. Or particularly powerful
Tanto is not a wingback
Fevrier has all 3 and we ALL agree we need more pace and power in the side
Saw this guy 2 seasons ago playing for Colchester at Gills. He looked good, but this was at L2 level.
If hes that good
1) why has he only played 7 times for SCFC
2) Why are they loaning him out?

It'd be a huge gamble at the start of January, let alone at this point in the transfer window with a matter of days leftGravesend_Addick said:Jones has literally decided to rip the squad up & start againSuch a huge gamble in January0 -
I wouldn't cross the road to see him !golfaddick said:

We couldn't even afford Dave Prowse.4 -
Honestly don't see what the fuss is about.
I wish it had worked with Rapter but he's not even getting a kick. Olaofe has had some chances but with Godden back and now Dykes (that non-injured Championship experienced player that everyone keeps mentioning that we need...) he was never going to even make the squad.
Better to move them on and use their wages on people who fit our system and in areas that we're lacking in numbers ie. wingback, not strikers.
I also think our squad is in a bad place in general with probably pretty low confidence so a bit of a shake up - few players in and out - is probably a good thing.
I'm sure there's going to be lots of "these players are punts!"... All transfers are punts. Apter and Olaofe were punts that haven't worked out so better to not dwell but to move onto another punt instead. Look at Liverpool's summer business as evidence that it doesn't matter how much you spend, it is always a punt.18 -
Feels like we are preparing for relegation, not trying to avoid it.5

At least 2 midfielders needed in my opinion. Bring in the 1 and if they get injured we are in a worse position than we are now. The midfield is just rubbish and offers pretty much nothing if you take out Carey’s goal tally.cafc4life said:We desperately need to freshen up the middle of the park12 -
