If the Kayne rumours were true, how much makes us blink on this one??
    £2-3m? - Harder to evaluate given he's a Defender
Guess one way to look at it, isn't just how much he's worth, but how much it would cost us to replace him

Personally wouldn’t sell below 4/5 million. As you say, would be very hard to replace and is a key player for us.

I'd be holding out for a fairly large sum. He's still under contract until the end of next season and he's very hard to replace
Whatever fee we can get that isn’t worth as much as staying up. Shouldn’t sell him unless we get silly money offers

I’d hope so too, he’s put in some good performances at the level, it would need to be a big sum to soften the blow.

Absolutely this, and more so if we stay up, because that puts a lot more on his value, and would give us time to replace him.

The summer is when we really need to consider listening to offers - Didn't realise that he was contracted till 2027, so if we can't get a new deal with him, we need to get something for him... Might even be why we're starting to look at other RCB's, as any Contract renewal talk has been very quiet surrounding him.
He and Edwards are my favourite players, so be shit when they eventually leave

Realistically, like last year, one of the best signings we could make in January would be a contract extension for a CB. This time it's Ramsay

Agree, my 11 yr old son takes great pride in telling people Edward’s was going to be his favourite and is really good, when he first saw him against pompey in the friendly.😂

It would be madness to sell one of our best players for £2-3m.

Yes he’s a defender, but he’s also on the younger side.

Anyone that could afford more than that plus the wages it would come with is probably in and around the top 6 of the Championship as a minimum.

Konsa went for £12m after a year at this level years ago. He’s not as young as him but if we’re to grow as a club any sales of key players need to be for reasonably big fees. I’d have thought it’s got to be around £5-6m as a minimum.

I’m sure there’s a counter argument, but I think the fact we are owned by a consortium means we play ball harder on price, as they want a good return on investments knowing they need to reinvest to keep things rolling.

Ramsay (along with Jones, Coventry and TC who I am sure we also want to tie down) won’t sign a new contract until we are mathematically safe from relegation

This all day long. We've been shafted for so long while under RD's ownership and in League One we seem to have been a bit of an easy target for selling players on the cheap previously. Konsa is an excellent comparison but was younger and played a full season when Brentford sold him.

After the Bristol City game earlier in the season there were figures of people wanting £7m+ for Ramsay if we were to sell. January is a seller's market and under no pressure to sell it's not unreasonable to tell anyone interested to stump up £7m IMO.

Not sure if we were interested but I've just seen Jamie Donleys off to Oxford... Let's hope he doesn't get going there after nothing at Stoke.
  • Seems it would be a result to hang onto Ramsay this transfer window

NJ keeps banging on about Godden coming back - we cannot wait for that - he’s been out far too long and it will take over a month for him to get up to match fitness so even if he came back in Feb earliest he could be banging them in would be Late March and April too late

HUGE RISK he breaks down again in returning, which unfortunately is more and more likely considering his initial operation did not work

we need an experienced striker in (worry is our latest 2 experienced loans have made no impact)

who is there available to get ?

IMO we will need to break the bank to get someone in and if we are doing that then we would also need to do that for LWB - that’s another £10m gone just there !
Harsh to say Bree has made no impact was brilliant for 10 games, and had a dip in form like everyone else. His defending has been solid but if he can just rediscover how to fix his set pieces/crossing he becomes a good option again.

We also don’t need to break the bank for a LWB we just need a proper fit LWB, even an average one is 100x better than relying on TC, Fullah etc and that also makes Apter an option on the other side again.

A striker is definitely needed but there should be at least one good option we could take on loan
Yes fair play never meant Bree he is one of the first on my team sheet (hope we manage to make him a perm after the 17th Jan) actually meant the 2 short term signings haven’t made an impact and by that I mean to get across the point that they have not been injured and training to get back to full fitness to first play for us - look how far they are from being match fit !!! Takes a lot longer to get up to speed with the championship demands - I will be shocked if we see Godden back before March and by then it would be too late

Jamie Donley joining Oxford… shame as would have liked him here to link up with Kelman, now even worse he’s going to a direct rival.

Very interested to see how he gets on.
They already have 5 loans, including Lankshear, also from Spurs. Donley would be their 3rd 20 year old loan player from London PL teams, a very different transfer model from the one NJ likes.

Interesting to sign someone like Donley without a permanent manager in charge.

Links up with 2 players in Lankshear and Currie that he knows well. That Oxford side lack connections and chemistry so I think it's worth the risk

He'll still go into next season, with just a year left on his deal though, same as Kayne, same as Conor
