He's topping up his wages as the overnight security guard 😁ElliotCAFC said:Completely meaningless post but it does make me laugh the Nathan Jones sleeps at the training ground. He lives by me in Greenwich and it’s not a long drive to the training ground, surely he’s got a phone and can deal with any transfer dealings from home? Not that I’m complaining, it’s a privilege to have a manager that cares this much.7 -
Erm… don’t mean to be the one to break it to you but have you considered that you might be the reason he prefers to stay at Sparrows Lane?ElliotCAFC said:Completely meaningless post but it does make me laugh the Nathan Jones sleeps at the training ground. You are very naive if you think Jones and the club haven't been working on potential signings for at least the last month.Brown59 said:I’m sure once again we might strengthen by getting Mr Nobody from nowhere FC. We should be doing deals now not at the end of the month when another five games have passed us by. if we’re going to strengthen do it now. Give the new players a chance to get going. It may be too late otherwise.
It's not Football Manager though, we don't just put an offer in for a player, he signs immediately and plays the next day. There might be 3-4 clubs wanting the same player. The selling/loaning club might want to hold off to see if they get better offers. They might want to wait until they themselves sign someone. A club higher up the championship might not need a player now but then might get an injury this week and suddenly they're in for the same player. There are many variables.3 -
Hope he’s not so busy with transfers he forgets to get on the coach today!!ElliotCAFC said:Completely meaningless post but it does make me laugh the Nathan Jones sleeps at the training ground. Without Anderson you still have Coventry, JRC, Docherty, Carey, Knibbs, Fullah, Berry. Back end of last season we only had Coventry Docherty Anderson Berry and Gilbert would be surprised if we want another midfielderNabySarr said:
I’d assume if Anderson goes out on loan we will look to bring in a midfielder on loan ourselves. If that’s true then the Anderson deal is probably done but just waiting on us sorting our incoming midfielderCombeMartin said:For what it's worth, my 'Charlton Insider' who works for the club in an unpaid voluntary role, told us before the Coventry game started that Charlton had signed 2 players already (obviously not completely finalised as not yet registered with the league) plus were trying to get at least a third. He also said that Anderson was leaving but didn't say whether a loan or sale and I forgot to ask (note Anderson wasn't even on the bench). A loan seems most likely as Anderson is one of Nathan Jones favourites (Wimbledon or Orient would mean he dosn't need to leave home).0 -
In that case I must be probably the sanest person going.eastterrace6168 said:

If Anderson and/or Fullah full on properly leave the club this window (loans excepted) in my opinion it ought to be for enough money to fund our losses for at least a year, and have very substantial sell on provision.
Personally I would keep them both, and bring back Zach Mitchell, I admit my opinion is coloured by a fondness for seeing our own come through, but also because we won't be risking money like we unsuccessfully did on Ahadme...and possibly one or two others.1 -
We need proven L1 quality in midfield, wing backs and maybe another striker.
I would look for a couple of high quality loans in this window. Worried we may buy Dykes who has only scored 3 goals in 46 games.
Very tough with our small budget for this league, but I do fear for our survival if we do not strengthen this window0 -

Championship clubs lose about 15M a year you’re not getting anywhere near that for Fullah after about 3 senior championship appearances despite his potential, and Anderson is laughable I would be happy to take 1M if we got offered that much.jose said:If Anderson and/or Fullah full on properly leave the club this window (loans excepted) in my opinion it ought to be for enough money to fund our losses for at least a year, and have very substantial sell on provision.

You can get some real gems once the window closes. Internationals in fact, like Hernández and Roussillon.

Or he’s been kicked out. Can’t imagine him being a joy to be around at home when we’ve got 1 win in 2 monthskillerandflash said:

Owen Beck has gone back to Liverpool from Derby. He’s a LWB and would be a very good loan signing4

Of course we did. Kaminski is an improvement in goal no matter how many people have elevated Mannion to Buffon levels in their heads, Burke and especially Bell have been good signings, Apter was good until the Edwards injury forced him out and has plenty of time to adapt, JRC is just breaking through now, Carey has been very good, Kelman is looking great after an unfortunate injury. It's only really Olaofe and Knibbs who haven't really had a huge impact yet and Knibbs is our second top scorer despite that. We spent over £10m in one window and this squad just needs to be good enough to survive so we can build again next season on top of what we have. This club spent 8 of the last 9 seasons at L1 level, the entire squad wasn't going to get overhauled in one window.Lewis Coaches said:

Even a 50% hit rate on new signings is pretty good going for most clubs in the EFL. Recruitment is not easy, especially when you are offering amongst the lowest wages in the leagueGarrymanilow said:

Think Macca and Doc has shown it doesn’t matter if you have depth if they’re not good enough. Wingbacks a ST a CB and CM are needed15
