Winter-January 2026 Transfer Window Rumours ...

I think it was Richard Cawley who said we need upgrades & to hit the ground running. Whether this window will be sufficient not sure unless we spend money. Realise it’s not a bottomless pit!1

I'd hope we could do better, Scanlon apart.Crispywood said:So James Bree, Callum Scanlon and then a striker potentially Lyndon Dykes as our january window from the rumours?0 -
Luke Chambers was pretty gash in the curtain raiser against Wigan last season, definitely not one to get excited about imo but at least he's an actual left back0

Bonus for every one that goes beyond the first defender?valleynick66 said:
Is it a pay per corner / set piece taken perhaps ? 😉😆DennisBooth said:First through the door an U21 left wing back from a top four Premiership Club. A Striker after that. They are also working on a deal for Bree.

Bree is a slow RB not a RWB and his dead ball delivery has been gash. Dykes is a one in six striker.TheHerminator said:

Bree is clearly playing with an injury and his dead ball was superb at the start of his loan.Gisappointed said:

my question is why would you assume we should be aiming for more? We’re a lower mid table champ side who will likely be in a relegation scrap8 -
We’re 4th in the league for set piece goals. It’s clear he’s not been at his best recently due to an injury, but when he was fit his dead ball delivery was qualityGisappointed said:

Why you think that exactly?I-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:I think something’s happening with Fullah which could generate some funds0 -
If we are in talks for scanlon lets hope jones puts in a cheeky request for a couple of their other youngsters who arent getting a game as well 😉0

I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. Can’t wait to get going and cannot believe he ended up out for 6 months.

That’s really encouraging news👍Pavoren007 said:I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. Can’t wait to get going and cannot believe he ended up out for 6 months.4 -
Presumably he’s keen on the deal and the laser printer cartridges at The Valley have run out of ink.MickeyBennett said:
Interesting. This morning I spotted Miles Lewis-Skelly perusing printer cartridges in the Curry's on Woolwich Road.DennisBooth said:First through the door an U21 left wing back from a top four Premiership Club. A Striker after that. They are also working on a deal for Bree.

Asked him what he was doing down South, he just winked at me and headed straight to the till to pay for his cartridges. Coincidence?0 -
Just goes to show the pain he was likely playing through last season to get us promoted. My son is obsessed with him and made me watch all of Godden’s goals from last season earlier. I’d forgotten how good he was watching those. We have no one like him. I said it earlier today but would love to see him and Kelman together for a few games.Pavoren007 said:I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. How long would it take a 34 year old to get match fit after 7 months out ?
I guess just 15 minutes cameos at first from the bench.2 -
Mike Kenning, back in the day, sold to Wolves, then came back for a couple of seasons, had the most fearsome strike from outside the box.CombeMartin said:
Why not, he comes from the area, and a fair few have returned to Charlton, they seem to like the place.Sword65pf said:
Always cautious of the returning player, interesting question(maybe😂) how many have been a success through our history?2121 said:I cannot imagine he would want to come back here anyway
In the 60's Eddie Firmani came back from Italy, Mike Flanagan came back in the 80's to get us promoted to the old Div 1, Danny Mills came here twice.
That's just off the top of my head.2 -
See Oxford also want Moran from Brighton. Didn’t set the world alight at Blackburn and Stoke but can play midfield and RWB0
-
Wouldn't mind him as a utility option. Can't see him breaking through at Brighton so might be available on a permanent.Red_Chester said:See Oxford also want Moran from Brighton. Didn’t set the world alight at Blackburn and Stoke but can play midfield and RWB0 -
Was he in a Gillingham training kit?Pavoren007 said:I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. Can’t wait to get going and cannot believe he ended up out for 6 months.14 -
Getting Godden back will be like a new signing5

yes, would think he'll be a 'finisher / off the bencher' for a good few weeks - a deputy for kelmansoapboxsam said:Pavoren007 said:I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. I’d happily see 15mins of matty up front rather than 90mins of some of what’s been playingsoapboxsam said:Pavoren007 said:I spoke to Matty Gooden this week and he confirmed that he is back fit and available for selection straight after the Chelsea game. Yes it’s good news that it appears that Matty Godden is close to a return but it’s probably worth remembering that he’s been out for six months, a year older and will be playing in a division higher. Obviously I’d love him to reproduce his last season form but I have to say I’m sceptical to be honest.13

I think 20 minutes of Matty will be more dangerous to the opposition than 90 mins of Leaburn.ShootersHillGuru said:Yes it’s good news that it appears that Matty Godden is close to a return but it’s probably worth remembering that he’s been out for six months, a year older and will be playing in a division higher. Oh well, he’s only going to bang in the 15 instead of 25 then👍😜ShootersHillGuru said:Yes it’s good news that it appears that Matty Godden is close to a return but it’s probably worth remembering that he’s been out for six months, a year older and will be playing in a division higher. I get that Bree is probably playing through an injury but how can he play if he can't even kick a dead ball? Je suis confuse......NabySarr said:
