Good player but has over 3 years on his contract, they’ve just spent 1M on him and will need him considering they’re in a relegation battle. They would have seen Kelman/Kone go for 3M a grandad May go for 1M Joe Taylor go for 2.5M there’s no way they would let him go for a price that we can realistically offerBraziliance said:It's probably unrealistic, but if we are talking strikers ready to bag goals, I would try and test Plymouths resolve for Lorent Tolaj.
Watched him on telly a few times and he looks like exactly what we are missing up front, has similar stats to Leaburn for target/hold up play. Slightly worse in the air but much superior on the ground in terms of dribbling and winning the ball on the deck.
He can really finish as well, some of his goals are quality and he has a great left foot.
Not sure how much he would cost, and he is League 1, but looks like the kind of player to step up, only 24 as well.0 -
Neither can I 👍Todds_right_hook said:

Can't believe so many lols. Chuks is the model surely?swords_alive said:Comparisons of Dykes and others to Chuks just makes me think why not do the obvious and make Chuks an offer to return? Instead of 20 minutes, give him 10 minutes plus injury time and a payment for goals and another rate for assists, shots on target, etc. It would make decent content for the podcast too.
Otherwise i'd like to see one of the two Rafaels from the J-league. Rafaeil Elias at Kyoto Sanga reminds of me of a slightly younger Chuks too. He's all about finishing and bringing others in to play.
(Same people probably laughed when i called Olaofe right and Kelman before he came good)2 -
There’s a reason Aneke is currently sat in L2, from a footballing and physical perspective he’s very good but Tony who sinks 10 pints down the pub every weekend will have better cardiovascular fitness and can move around the pitch more than Aneke plus no point having a player who sees the medical table more than his own bedswords_alive said:

Chelsea have signed 50 senior players under Boehly in the last 3 years and have about 15 out on loan at the moment. Admittedly a bit calmer than the 42 they had out on loan a few years ago. The lad has already left Chelsea once, unsurprisingly to Wimbledon, for 7 years. Some young players have to find a level, like Mason Burstow, before their parent club can decide whether they stay or go. I honestly don’t know how well he’s done for Huddersfield other than the numbers, but can see Chelsea wanting to try him at Championship level and no reason why Charlton can’t be involved in a chat if it’s what Jones wants. They’ll know how well Conor did coming here, having never played a senior game beforehand and were seemingly willing to let us have Fofana in the summer.CB1 said:2 -

What are the thoughts on our former player Karlan Grant currently at West Brom, his contract is currently up in the summer, has Championship experience, cant remember how many he's scored this season or before ?
Would West Brom take the money now rather than get nothing in the Summer ?, would he move back ?

Maybe the injury is worse than we thought, and has 6 months left on his contract. And unlikely to get one..Sword65pf said:0 -
agreed - does anybody know how the meeting with his surgeon / consultant went on the 23rd dec? If it went well, which he indicated he thought it would, then he will currently be doing his utmost to get fully fit. If it went badly i reckon he'll be sitting on a beach in the carribean wondering what to do next with his life.Sword65pf said:0 -
Think out injured till at least late January.Mortimerwasgod said:Ryan Hardie for me. Awkward intelligent player who seems to have confidence on the pitch. Makes things happen. Doing bugger all at Wrexham currently.0 -
He was on the pitch pre game against Coventry on New Year’s Day in his Charlton tracksuit which I thought was a good sign. Must mean he isn’t far away.9

Godden isn't out of contract anyway at the end of the season . Has a club option which if he comes back fit and firing I'd activate anyway.2

Completely different player, completely different league. Pack it ingolfaddick said:
I'd rather recall Kanu. Been playing regularly & finding the net. Unlike Dykes.CB1 said:Football league world now also saying we are plotting a move for Dykes. I know they aren’t reliable sometimes but there is no smoke without fire.7 -

2 goals in 19 games. I say do it just to give Golfie an aneurysm...CombeMartin said:What are the thoughts on our former player Karlan Grant currently at West Brom, his contract is currently up in the summer, has Championship experience, cant remember how many he's scored this season or before ?

Wages would be far too expensive for Gillingham, if he was to go anywhere it wouldn’t be to L2, he’s not even fit. This is definitely a load of absolute waffleDubaiCAFC said:Any truth in Godden to Gills?3 -
I cannot imagine he would want to come back here anywaythenewbie said:

Always cautious of the returning player, interesting question(maybe😂) how many have been a success through our history?2121 said:

I thought we might look at him too. However I’m pretty sure he’s already played for Port Vale this season as well so can’t play for a 3rd side.Braziliance said:It's probably unrealistic, but if we are talking strikers ready to bag goals, I would try and test Plymouths resolve for Lorent Tolaj.
Watched him on telly a few times and he looks like exactly what we are missing up front, has similar stats to Leaburn for target/hold up play. Slightly worse in the air but much superior on the ground in terms of dribbling and winning the ball on the deck.

Good point, wasn't sure if permanent moves impacted that or not, that might be a big reason he doesn't move this window if that does apply.covered_end_junior said:
