Always cautious of the returning player, interesting question(maybe😂) how many have been a success through our history?2121 said:
I cannot imagine he would want to come back here anywaythenewbie said:
2 goals in 19 games. I say do it just to give Golfie an aneurysm...CombeMartin said:What are the thoughts on our former player Karlan Grant currently at West Brom, his contract is currently up in the summer, has Championship experience, cant remember how many he's scored this season or before ?
Would West Brom take the money now rather than get nothing in the Summer ?, would he move back ?0 -
We’re not going to have our pants pulled down in jan.?Braziliance said:
Good point, wasn't sure if permanent moves impacted that or not, that might be a big reason he doesn't move this window if that does apply.covered_end_junior said:
I thought we might look at him too. However I’m pretty sure he’s already played for Port Vale this season as well so can’t play for a 3rd side.Braziliance said:It's probably unrealistic, but if we are talking strikers ready to bag goals, I would try and test Plymouths resolve for Lorent Tolaj.
Watched him on telly a few times and he looks like exactly what we are missing up front, has similar stats to Leaburn for target/hold up play. Slightly worse in the air but much superior on the ground in terms of dribbling and winning the ball on the deck.
He can really finish as well, some of his goals are quality and he has a great left foot.
Not sure how much he would cost, and he is League 1, but looks like the kind of player to step up, only 24 as well.

Well, we know what that's code for.
Braziliance have you spent crimbo with golfie or something?!!😂😜6 -

The board invested £10m in the summer. To be fair reckless spending now makes no sense.Sensible translates for me to be a couple of targeted acquisitions that won’t be in the same vein as the spending we saw in the summer.14

Yeah I think there's definitely a budget there for the right player but no spending Kelman level feesTheHerminator said:The board invested £10m in the summer. It's not about having our pants pulled down, it's about increasing our chances of remaining a Champ club.Sword65pf said:

And no 😂 I actually think Dykes is a decent move on loan. He will come here with a point to prove.
I could name plenty of players I would rather have, but it isn't fifa.6 -
I would say there isn’t much truth in it. But apparently he was at the gills game at the weekend.. but maybe total BS1

Like any transfer particularly in jan I’d imagine it’s a case if the right player becomes available at the right price funds will be there. Trouble is the price isn’t always right, come on down!!!!!MarcusH26 said:

The worst that could happen is we spend a shit load of money on two or three players on high wages and then get relegated.Sword65pf said:

Here we go again!! We must be saving them a fortune in scouting!Crispywood said:Preston apparently in for Dykes as well14 -
Hey all, just to confirm Dykes is in fact a rumour. I have some more knowledge about the exact situ when I can. In other news im 3 beers deep by the pool in dubai.0

I just read that as balls deep by the pool in Dubai, weird I know, win win though😂Radostanradical said:Hey all, just to confirm Dykes is in fact a rumour. I have some more knowledge about the exact situ when I can. In other news im 3 beers deep by the pool in dubai.11 -
no he a battering ram , will hold the ball upCAFCFW05 said:Am I the only one that thinks Dykes could be a useful signing. Defo could be a handful in the last 20 mins of games (winning and losing).
better then Leaburn and feed the runners like Kelman Carey Costello .. people think we going to get top players in Jan it don’t happen unless you pay way over the odds .. mainly loans but money spent on left sided wing back0 -
Gillesphey .. really with all our defenders injured or just coming back you want to get rid of one the fit ones ??????? Berry will leave in the summerking addick said:Personally got no issue with Lyndon Dykes potentially signing. He would take away so much that Tanto, Kelman and even Leaburn to a degree are doing now that isnt there profile and allow them to get into better goalscoring positions.
A striker of that mould, a LWB and a CB would be a good January.
Potentially move on Gillesphey and Berry aswell.2 -
I hope they get himCrispywood said:Preston apparently in for Dykes as well2 -
Reverse psychology, we go for the iffy players, Preston jump in and take them, leaves us to go for good ones👍Lincsaddick said:

Don’t you think because all our strikers are not scoring it could be the service is not good enough ??????? How many assists has Campbell had this season 2 ???golfaddick said:
Great......so another non goal scoring striker. He can join the long list that includes Leaburn, Kelman, Tanto & TC. What's that....5 between them all season.ShootersHillGuru said:We currently lack a “presence” up front. Dykes would offer that and I think could manufacture openings for Kelman and Knibbs. He won’t score loads of goals but could with a fair wind be the ingredient we’ve been missing. Would hope for much better in the summer if that’s the way Jones wants to play it. Someone with Dykes attributes who can score ten goals a season would be my hope.
For fucking once can we sign a bone fida goal scorer. Oh I forgot, we had one 2 season's ago but sold him because he didn't run about enough.2 -

According to the Preston source who was very ahead of time on the Small contract situation they’re also monitoring TC6

Gough seems capable and can actually turn when needing to chase a ball. A new CB would have to be an upgrade. There is a reason championship Plymouth never played him and got rid.RonnieMoore said:

No ..Godden is due back after Chelsea game .. back in the day 1 month loan deal for him to get fit would be perfect but you don’t see that anymoreDubaiCAFC said:Any truth in Godden to Gills?

First through the door an U21 left wing back from a top four Premiership Club. A Striker after that. They are also working on a deal for Bree.

Golden won’t be back after the Chelsea game. It won’t be till February. I have heard that even then it is not guaranteed.RonnieMoore said:

Why not, he comes from the area, and a fair few have returned to Charlton, they seem to like the place.Sword65pf said:

In the 60's Eddie Firmani came back from Italy, Mike Flanagan came back in the 80's to get us promoted to the old Div 1, Danny Mills came here twice.
That's just off the top of my head.

Interesting. This morning I spotted Miles Lewis-Skelly perusing printer cartridges in the Curry's on Woolwich Road.DennisBooth said:First through the door an U21 left wing back from a top four Premiership Club. A Striker after that. They are also working on a deal for Bree.

Asked him what he was doing down South, he just winked at me and headed straight to the till to pay for his cartridges. Coincidence?8 -

Is Tony available for a loan?.Crispywood said:
There’s a reason Aneke is currently sat in L2, from a footballing and physical perspective he’s very good but Tony who sinks 10 pints down the pub every weekend will have better cardiovascular fitness and can move around the pitch more than Aneke plus no point having a player who sees the medical table more than his own bedswords_alive said:
Can't believe so many lols. Chuks is the model surely?swords_alive said:Comparisons of Dykes and others to Chuks just makes me think why not do the obvious and make Chuks an offer to return? Instead of 20 minutes, give him 10 minutes plus injury time and a payment for goals and another rate for assists, shots on target, etc. It would make decent content for the podcast too.
Otherwise i'd like to see one of the two Rafaels from the J-league. Rafaeil Elias at Kyoto Sanga reminds of me of a slightly younger Chuks too. He's all about finishing and bringing others in to play.
(Same people probably laughed when i called Olaofe right and Kelman before he came good)0 -
Bowie and Zach on the bench for Hibs today.0
