4.5M for Southamptons 5th choice CB amount of money in championship football is absurd.Braziliance said:11 -
And surprising that they would spend more on a centre back than on any of their signings elsewhere.Crispywood said:

Edwards had a lot of potential at Peterborough but £4.5m feels steep.3

That’s Joe Ward, they’ve signed Joel Ward on a free transfer.MarcusH26 said:Swansea complete the signing of RB/RWB Joel Ward from Derby2 -
Hahaha my bad! I half read it and automatically assumed they'd signed the Derby one 🤣🤣covered_end_junior said:

Yes, good signing I think but I certainly wouldn't say he's 4.5million good. Also does maybe illustrate why it takes time to sign players if we don't want to getting 5th choice players for nearly 5 million pounds.MarcusH26 said:Edwards had a lot of potential at Peterborough but £4.5m feels steep.3 -
He's been a free agent since the summer, so they could have signed him anytime. Indeed weren't we "linked" with him before signing Bree?covered_end_junior said:

I don't know how match fit he is, seeing that his main work since the summer has been as a pundit on TV for Palace games.0 -

Crawley sign Klaidi Lolos on loan. Makes it even harder to see Dixon getting minutes0

In a confident L2 team he'd absolutely get a chance and probably do really well. The issue was that Crawley are relegation scrappersMarcusH26 said:3 -

Given how hyper selective we seem to be with loan clubs for players , they must have seen something in how Lindsay and Crawley set up that they thought would have been beneficial for Dixon. Feels like now they've gone for the classic " we're really in a scrap here and can't really afford to go down, let's go and sign 6 new players in Jan" routeLeuth said:

Always context though. Southampton are littered with premier league prospects and talent.Crispywood said:

It's a bit different signing Southamptons back up centre backs, than ours for instance.
The price tag doesn't surprise me at all and shows the kind of spend it takes at this level.
Very rare to pick up a freebie that is good without a catch or their wages being very high.0 -
And we might be getting their 3rd choice RWB for a tenth of that!0

Donley going off injured after 17 minutes of his debut, is the sort of thing which I thought only happened to us with January signings!fenaddick said:Jamie Donley on loan to Oxford confirmed. The best bit of business for them though is the inclusion of an option to make it permanent4 -
I rate him at this level. That being said, they just signed Donally who I believe plays in the same position. They clearly feel they need creativity in their team, and based on what we saw of them I don't disagree.MarcusH26 said:https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/oxford-united-sign-myles-peart-harris-0

If we needed a 10 I would have hoped we'd have been in for one of them. That being said, we have Knibbs, Carey, and Berry to play there so we're not short of numbers. But two quality players signed by a relegation rival.

That's a really interesting signing , had the same procedure as Christian Eriksen did so isn't allowed to play in Italy because of insurance reasons.AFKABartram said:Watford signing an Italian U21 with 80 Serie A games with Roma and Fiorentina0 -
