    And surprising that they would spend more on a centre back than on any of their signings elsewhere.

    Edwards had a lot of potential at Peterborough but £4.5m feels steep.

    Yes, good signing I think but I certainly wouldn't say he's 4.5million good. Also does maybe illustrate why it takes time to sign players if we don't want to getting 5th choice players for nearly 5 million pounds.

    He's been a free agent since the summer, so they could have signed him anytime. Indeed weren't we "linked" with him before signing Bree?

    I don't know how match fit he is, seeing that his main work since the summer has been as a pundit on TV for Palace games.

    Probably go top end of the National League , maybe Boreham Wood?  Not sure he'll get a chance at Bromley for example.

    Given how hyper selective we seem to be with loan clubs for players , they must have seen something in how Lindsay and Crawley set up that they thought would have been beneficial for Dixon. Feels like now they've gone for the classic " we're really in a scrap here and can't really afford to go down, let's go and sign 6 new players in Jan" route

    Always context though. Southampton are littered with premier league prospects and talent.

    It's a bit different signing Southamptons back up centre backs, than ours for instance. 

    The price tag doesn't surprise me at all and shows the kind of spend it takes at this level. 

    Very rare to pick up a freebie that is good without a catch or their wages being very high.

    I rate him at this level. That being said, they just signed Donally who I believe plays in the same position. They clearly feel they need creativity in their team, and based on what we saw of them I don't disagree. 

    If we needed a 10 I would have hoped we'd have been in for one of them. That being said, we have Knibbs, Carey, and Berry to play there so we're not short of numbers. But two quality players signed by a relegation rival.

    That's a really interesting signing , had the same procedure as Christian Eriksen did so isn't allowed to play in Italy because of insurance reasons.
