It seems like his pedigree is not in doubt but how many games has he played this season & is he fit to play 90 mins on Saturday if called upon?
So we should sign someone but not this someone...

As you have been repeatedly told. January is a shit time for deals, we aren't Wrexham who throw money around willy nilly. We have to do the best with what we got. Games come thick and fast, if he isnt match fit yet, he certainly will be.

    Plenty of Harry Monks
  • That is a really good signing for the Championship - would easily get into the team for most teams at the top end of the division,

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t he currently injured?

Look, you been told time & again, beggars can't be chooses and in January you just have to sign whoever is available.  He managed to get along to the Valley/SL to sign so he must be able to walk a few hundred yards. On that basis I'm ecstatic and hope to see him play 20 mins before the end of Feb.

    Er....Yes.

Call me old fashioned but I thought the idea of signing a player was that they might actually, you know, be able to play in the next match you have.

No one seems to actually know why he hasn’t been playing for Ipswich. I think people are jumping on a lack of minutes and assuming it’s because of injury.

We have someone in our squad like Luke Berry who’s barely played but it’s not because he’s been injured.

Ipswich signed a lot of high quality players after they got promoted to the Premier League and Clarke hasn’t got a look in since, fit or not.
  • Wary of players with recent poor injury records.

    Wary of signings from Ipswich.

Fingers crossed I'm wrong and he's good.

Not necessarily, he was injured in April last year and hasn't played competitively since then but if he was so badly damaged that he still can't play 8 months later then even we wouldn't be signing him.

Probably not totally match fit but I very much doubt he's carrying a current injury.

Matt Penney also joined us match fit from Motherwell in January and look how that turned out...he was shite.

Maybe they feel guilty after all the shit they have offloaded on us and this time it’s all good !!

if the club issue a statement saying he will be on the grass sometime around march I will reconsider the above lol

That's not too odd a concept surely?  Golfie is a negative poster sure but nothing wrong with wanting us to sign players he thinks will improve the team not ones he thinks might not, whether that's for quality or fitness reasons.

First thing they all mention is Nathan Jones as the reason behind them joining

"I like to get forward, probably playing a different role in this system. Try and help the boys get some clean sheets". Sounds like he's earmarked at RCB not RWB

Strong single tattoo sleeve, sharp haircut and radiant smile suggesting oral health is a key priority for Harry.

Holds that pen well suggesting good transferable coordination.

I like what I see so far.
This is the sort of in-depth analysis you don't see or hear on Sky, BBC, ITV, TalkShite or any other football broadcaster.

Well worth the monthly subs to Charlton Life in my humble opinion.

I’d settle for running at the moment!

When we get Edwards and/or Ramsay back, playing Clarke as a RCB who’s comfortable at right back as well should open up a lot more opportunities to be more aggressive at RWB (Apter).

He played 13 games 24-25, so far has not played this season, sound a perfect Charlton signing, and and from Ipswich, is another Ahadame.
