    Stewart finally gets his cap
Should have had it this time last year but it wasn’t presented for some reason

I’d have picked Stewart ahead of Quinn if fit.
  • Safe to say there won't be a draw in the Northants game, and that they'll either finish with 3 bowling points only, in which case we're up, or 19 points to finish on 207, 15 above our current 192.

If the latter we'll need the win or a draw with maximum bonus points, which feels unlikely, looking at how few batting bonus points we've earned. Assuming no deductions for slow over rates...

A draw with 7 bonus points would suffice I believe - countback starts with wins and we've won two more than Northants. Unlikely we'll get 400 but you never know!

Not having a spinner has meant a very slow over rate. Tea should have been taken at 15.10 with 64 overs completed. It’s almost 15.30 and only the 60th over.

I'm sure Muyeye will get the ball to speed things up at some point

Middlesex 108-5. Geddes, who was with us on a short-term loan back in 2023, the man out for a very good 57 in the context of the game.

219-8 now why can’t we finish teams off? In a low scoring match a tail end partnership of 50 odd plus could be very significant

Bracey edges to slips for 86. 229/9. Interesting to see if he comes out to keep, had a runner towards the end of his innings

229-9 and Bracey out for 86 to Milnes. Batting with a runner due to a leg injury, may well mean a replacement which won't do us any harm come the second innings.

There's zero chance him coming out to keep I would have thought. If they have someone else to take the gloves then there's a chance that they won't replace him in the team.

Don’t the new replacement regulations allow a like for like replacement this season?

I was only half paying attention but from the stream it sounded like they don’t

Someone, with decent hands, will have to take the gloves for today and they might send for someone to arrive overnight in that case but see how Bracey is come the morning.

They do but he is their best batter and number one keeper too.
