The U13s West Kent Boys Hub sadly lost in the QFs on Tuesday. Still a great effort to get that far.Addick Addict said:

In addition to the county age group squad, we now have five Regions that act as a feeder into the county side and that gives exposure to players who, in a former time, would never have been seen in action by county coaches. There are also the MCC Foundation squads - these cater for those who aren't a fixture in the county squad AND who go to a State school and who are again coached by county coaches. By definition, there are some players who might appear in both the Regional and MCC Foundation squads.
Last year, the Kent West U14s won the national MCC Foundation competition for their age group. A year on and with some of the same players, though certainly not all as some have progressed to the county side and others have come in that have impressed this year in trials, the U15s have progressed to the final at Lord's in September.
A fantastic achievement which serves to demonstrate the depth of talent in the county and that there is now an opportunity for those who go to a State school and who might previously been totally missed especially those that do develop later.
Today the U17 Girls comfortably beat the South Bucks Hub by 151 runs in the QFs. In the SF they faced the Guildford Hub, a side that has won the competition in the last two years. The West Kent Hub batted first and made 176 and despite only having 10 players held on to win by 4 runs. And two matches in 35 degree heat too!
So, come 5th September the West Kent hub will be represented at Lord's against two hubs from Yorkshire - the U15 Boys play York and the U17 Girls face Bradford. A fantastic achievement.5 -
Quite close to one of the lads in the playing staff at Kent and he told me another bowler from bangladesh is expected to come in alongside Mahmud, which will signal mathusamy not coming in.2

Reminds me of three years ago when Bickley were trying to stave off relegation and had to play Blackheath. DBD played his one and only club game that season and recorded his highest ever club score of 159. Blackheath won the KPL and Bickley finished second bottom.1 -

Cook has confirmed that Cricket South Africa have withdrawn the No Objections Certificate for Muthusamy so he isn't now coming. Cook also says "We missed Corey Flintoff for the tournament because of a virus, but once he has fully recovered, he has the opportunity to feature in our upcoming fixtures, as well as Olly Curtiss".
Given the depth of our squad, our desire to win promotion, that Flintoff hasn't done anything of note in the Kent 2s in the last two years (one 50 and taken three wickets on just one occasion) and hasn't played any form of cricket for seven weeks, I find that statement slightly strange. His contract is up at the end of the season so, perhaps, there is a desire to see if he can do it on the professional stage though one suspects that will be if and when we've sealed or cannot mathematically attain promotion.2 -
There's a bit of a hint in Cook's write up in so far as he says about Dudgeon "that we’ll need to ensure that he gets the right amount of rest and recuperation to keep him performing at his best during the next block of fixtures".000__Jaaaaay__000 said:

So, it will be a question of perming any two from the three overseas quicks and trying to get Milnes as fit as possible to play as many matches as possible - perhaps, say, four of the six remaining - with Stewart and Ekansh taking as much of the balance of the seam bowling as possible. Presumably, then, the spin bowling will be shared, according to the pitch between Jaydn and Parkinson. In fact, it would make sense to rest Milnes in a couple of the matches that Parkinson plays in.0 -

Indeed Fanny. Corey is, by all accounts, a lovely lad but I struggle to understand why he was given a two-year contract. It looks, at face value, like a "punt" based on a name. I would like to think that, given his connections, Lancashire would have given him more time. There will, as always, be comparison with his father but it's worse than that because, of course, his younger brother, Rocky is once again hitting the headlines. That must be really hard on him but the fact remains that Corey has done very little in the Kent 2s (or in the Kent League for that matter) and in FC cricket, he has scored 11 runs in two innings with the bat and has 0-174 off 30 overs with the ball. I hope that, should he play, he proves me totally wrong because Cook, in suggesting he will be given a chance, must see something. But we also can't get away from the fact that he hasn't played for seven weeks. The 2s do have a 4-day game starting on Tuesday so, hopefully, he will use that as a stepping stone.Fanny Fanackapan said:

Although I'm not sure Olly is ready to play in what could be vital CC matches, he has, at least shown glimpses of what he is capable of. That does beg the question, though, why he is going to be given an opportunity in the CC but wasn't in the 50 over competition. I'm sure, though, that his time will come in the course of the next few seasons.1 -

Just three contracted players are in the 2s side to play Surrey namely Jas, Evison and Curtiss. The rest of the 12 is made up of Academy players and trialists.1

Kent 224 all out with Ollie Morgan the only real contributor with 94 (176). Evison and Curtiss both made 24
For Surrey, Jimmy White's grandson, Ralphie Albert, had the Kent batters snookered with figures of 8-5-11-4. All four wickets were caught at slip by former Tonbridge scholar, Ollie Sykes1 -

So, Crawley returns for the rested Dawkins. Finch has had a repeat of an old injury, Jaydn has sustained an ankle injury (presumably the catalyst for the re-signing of Foreman) and Mahmud will, hopefully, be back with us at the start of September.
I suspect that, unless Merchant Taylors' looks particularly like a bunsen burner, as Middx have a few left-handers in their top order and Parkinson returned 2-126 against them in the last CC match, that Foreman will come into the side. That being the case, I would think the side will look like this:

Kent won the toss and have elected to bat. A couple of surprises, to me anyway, Parkinson and Quinn are in instead of Foreman and Stewart in the above team. Batting looks nowhere as strong as a result of that.1

Can only think that Stewart is either carrying a niggle or we want to give him an extended break given he's been playing for the duration of all three comps in which case he was only in the squad in case one of the other four seamers were to break down prior to the game. It was a straight shoot out between Parkinson and Foreman but I am slightly surprised that we elected to sacrifice two all rounders for two out and out bowlers.Fanny Fanackapan said:
