And his red ball record this season has hardly been of the sort to attract richer counties either, so perhaps it wouldn't be that surprising if he stayed.2 -
Perhaps because of his red and white ball record not too many counties are going to come knocking. That one-year contract is the key. If he has a great season then he might be back in the England frame and become more attractive to other counties. If he doesn't then Compton and Dawkins (and assuming he finds his form) might put him under pressure for his place.fenaddick said:

With the cat out of the bag, courtesy of yesterday's Warwickshire commentator, Lintott joining permanently at the end of the season, the question remains about whether we will be offering Parkinson a new contract. Jaydn (left arm finger), Lintott (left arm chinaman) and Parkinson (leggie) all offer something different but, of the three, Jaydn is the work in progress both with bat and ball but is seen as the future. If Jaydn and Ekansh can develop to the extent that they become fixtures in all formats then we will never have issues with the balance of the side.3 -
The West Kent Hub has been named National Hub of the Year at the MCC Foundation Awards 2026. The award will be given at Lord's on Finals Day on Saturday 5th September. Having coached them throughout, Seb missed the final last year when his team won the U14s because of a golf trip but will be there this year with the U15s.Pedro45 said:

In addition to the county age group squad, we now have five Regions that act as a feeder into the county side and that gives exposure to players who, in a former time, would never have been seen in action by county coaches. There are also the MCC Foundation squads - these cater for those who aren't a fixture in the county squad AND who go to a State school and who are again coached by county coaches. By definition, there are some players who might appear in both the Regional and MCC Foundation squads.
Last year, the Kent West U14s won the national MCC Foundation competition for their age group. A year on and with some of the same players, though certainly not all as some have progressed to the county side and others have come in that have impressed this year in trials, the U15s have progressed to the final at Lord's in September.
A fantastic achievement which serves to demonstrate the depth of talent in the county and that there is now an opportunity for those who go to a State school and who might previously been totally missed especially those that do develop later.6 -
Hasan Mahmud returned figures of 17-3-55-6 against Australia. What a find for us! Although he will miss the next CC match, he should be available for the four games in September. Bangladesh need to wrap him up in cotton wool until then!
