What chants do you find the most annoying/crappest/tedious? It could be a Charlton one or from another team.

Since I was Young. Copy and paste chant, terrible lyrics, and just randomly descends into woahhhooooeeerrrr4

That Birmingham bollocks after every visiting teams substitution and that awful ‘Mauled by the tigers’, that Hull do.2

'Eagles'8

2 mins into any away game we always seem to sing team/town a shit hole I wanna go home. Does my nut in along with football in library12

“Insert team name” get battered everywhere they go0

We never lose at Fratton Park..........27

Agree, both awful songsNicholas said:2 mins into any away game we always seem to sing team/town a shit hole I wanna go home. Does my nut in along with football in library0 -
Your Sister is your brother...21

Generally just any chanting about opposition teams we have no sort of rivalry with. Much prefer seeing fans get behind their own team for the 90 mins but I don't see this changing with our support.6

Agreed. It always makes me think what our players must think. (I appreciate they're focused on the match but up close they will hear specific words sung.) I wish we would sing songs in praise of us and individual players over and above ones denigrating the other team or their town.Nicholas said:2 mins into any away game we always seem to sing team/town a shit hole I wanna go home. "Support" is surely more than slagging off others.
So in answer to the question, any song that generically digs out the team we are playing, with the Addams family song a way out in front.0 -
I know we stole this from Motherwell but we were the ones to start this trend in English Football. Took about 1 month for every other EFL club to copy itcafcnick1992 said:Since I was Young. Copy and paste chant, terrible lyrics, and just randomly descends into woahhhooooeeerrrr1 -
The Addams family song or any of the homophobic chants that always come out against Brighton.11

It always makes me laugh when ‘your support is fucking shit’ or ‘we forgot that you were here’ gets sung but it doesn’t quite catch on so you only have a quiet pocket of fans singing it2
-
Or telling an away end of 1k+ that their support is shit when we took less than 500 to the reverse fixture.follett said:It always makes me laugh when ‘your support is fucking shit’ or ‘we forgot that you were here’ gets sung but it doesn’t quite catch on so you only have a quiet pocket of fans singing it8 -
Lower league teams (like us) use the same/similar songs - Chelsea had a load of unique songs Saturday0

Can also add where were you when you were shit being sung at a team like Coventry when they visit the Valley. They’d sell that away end out when they were shit and we’d only have about 8k home fansCroydon said:

'Your support is fucking shit' sung at away fans on a Tuesday night who have come down from somewhere like Morecambe paying £30 for a ticket and either had to drive straight down after work and then back after or paid £80+ for a 3 hour+ train journey knowing they'll get back at ridiculous o'clock and have to go to work the next day. Oh, have they not filled out the Jimmy Seed stand? Bunch of plastics.21

A few times this season the away fans were singing "football in a library" at the same time VFR was being sung by the cupboard end. Great timing!

Hopefully we don't get to play Leamington Spa anytime soon in a league game.CAFCTrev said:

Sadly - many of ours.
Keep:-
VFR - everyone knows the words
Yipee ay Aye - needs reinstating
We never lose at Fratton Park - keep singing it - self deprecation is great humour
Goodbye Horse - ours
Jones is right - the refs are shite - generic, but I like it because its true
Come on you reds - although only when we have a corner
Chrl'un, Charl'un, Charlt'un...Excellent - no one else sings it
That's just embarrassing - generic but specific to a situation
Nathan Jones Red AND WHITE army. Not sure when we went to a version that doesn't scan.
Ad hoc humour - the spontaneous stuff that used to make you laugh.
Lose:-
Your support is fucking shit
Is this a library
xxxxx is a shithoe I want to go home
Alez alez alez...the reds are going up - unless we are definitely promoted, embarrassing when we are 19th.
Is there a fire drill
Adam's family
and anything else which is about slagging off the opposition fans6 -
Valley Floyd Road used to be a haunting football anthem and I was proud of that one. Now it's sung like Vic Reeves doing the 'club style' on shooting stars. Vallehfloyro, damissrollninfromdathames.
I don't enjoy the majority of the rest, and it's not about the songs themselves, it's the fact that most of them are sung by 90 other teams. It's the Twitterification of football support. People hear a chant on social media and rather than come up with their own, they use it as a template and change a few of the words. Most chants are copied or imported these days. I mean, we live in a world where English football fans around the country are singing 'allez allez allez'...
We sing a Crystal Palace song in support of Tyreece Campbell. What's next: We support the Charlton, the Charlton, the Charlton, and that's the way we like it, we like it, we like it.
Maybe I'm a grumpy git, but it's not for me.4 -
Singing that at a sold out St Andrews in League One, which was Birmingham at their shittest.follett said:

Worst I've heard this season is 'just like London, your city is red' being sung away at Derby. The look of confusion in the home end told you everything you need to know.3 -
Leeds fans when they sing/chant 'we all love Leeds' for the whole match./1

The 2 songs Pwoper facking wall sing0

Maybe I'm a grumpy git, but it's not for me.That TC samba song is everywhere now, every club has someone running down the wing to that song, I've heard it in non league as well.
Most player chants never used to be so long and convoluted, or indeed sweary. Off the top of my head
Whoahh Garry Nelson, Garry Garry Garry Nelson.
Tony Watt Watt Watt (you what, you what)
Who's that scoring goals, who's that scoring goals, Johnny Johnny Robinson
Kin, Kin Kinsella
Jackson, oh Jonny Jackson runs down the wing for me
Ooh Sweaty Balmer, Ooh Sweaty Balmer
There's only one...2 -

Spot on. If only it would scan we should be singing "your support tonight is exceptional, but your few hundred mates back up north who didn't fancy it, well, their support is a joke.."Garrymanilow said:'Your support is fucking shit' sung at away fans on a Tuesday night who have come down from somewhere like Morecambe paying £30 for a ticket and either had to drive straight down after work and then back after or paid £80+ for a 3 hour+ train journey knowing they'll get back at ridiculous o'clock and have to go to work the next day. We are digging out the heroes not the villains at home in the warm.2 -
Valley Floyd Road sang quickly.
