Or is sung simultaneously with the other teams fans singing, thereby nullifying its meaning.follett said:It always makes me laugh when ‘your support is fucking shit’ or ‘we forgot that you were here’ gets sung but it doesn’t quite catch on so you only have a quiet pocket of fans singing it0 -
‘Fulham’s (insert other areas such as Cheltenham) a shithole I want to go home’ if you live in Plumstead or Welling. Works in reverse as Burnley sang it at us.
Looking forward to redoing ‘Champions’ to the tune of Gary Glitter’s ‘yes you’re beautiful’ when we win the league next year. On second thoughts …..0 -
Not original to us of course, but I do enjoy the "In your head, Jonesy" chant, when we've got a result against opponents whose supporters really hate NJ.
It was great singing it to NJ after the draw at Southampton, and I think he really appreciated it too.8 -
Forest used it before us.CombeMartin said:Who was it (a name please, does anyone know) that originally took McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre" song and changed it into VFR, brilliant, and it's not just the first line, no other team can use that, it's ours.
As I recall, I first heard it when we'd move to Selhurst. I didn't hear it the first season, the year we moved there (1985) when the Covered End lads stood in the Arthur Waite stand, I was there too but came from the East Terrace, but having got promoted dad and I celebrated by getting a season ticket in the main stand opposite, and that's when I first heard it coming from the Arthur Waite in 1986.
As I recall, it was the fans response to being moved to play at Selhurst, which was very unpopular.2 -
I will swear black’s white that it was first properly / loudly sung at Highbury away in March 1989 once it was announced that the directors were working on getting us back. It was never a Selhurst protest song.0

I believe the predominant song at that game (the 2-2?) was a continuous and raucous ‘Back to the Valley’.Weegie Addick said:I will swear black’s white that it was first properly / loudly sung at Highbury away in March 1989 once it was announced that the directors were working on getting us back.
