We're going to end up with a starting 11 with 10 defenders by the end of the season.
I did say in jest on the transfer thread that NJ would play 10 CBs to get eighteen 0-0 draws and get us to 50 points.
Seems that is actually what he intends to happen. 😳

I have no idea what is going on and am entirely numb -

  • Fun fact; Of the games that Coady has played in the Championship across his career, he's played more times as a Defensive Midfielder at this level (65-games), than what he has done at Centre-Back (58-games)
You can prove anything with facts.
But lets not start pretending as though Coady is being shoehorned into a role he's never performed at this level
(Thats not a quote from me either, but William Shakespeare)

Guessing Jones is hoping to tough it out for 70 mins, possibly nick a goal from a set piece or well placed cross and go offensive, or as offensive as we can, last 20 mins.

What is Docherty doing out there?
Lovely to see Bell back, does look a bit of a defensive team...
Guess we'll aim to get into HT drawing at the very least and go for it more second half
Win the Home Games / Draw the Away Games
Who will be the first player pulling up or being sub. Coady, Bell or Chambers?
Hits the nail on the head, four of the lineup are not fully match fit.

The first 4 or 5 pages of these comments absolutely reek of a 2-0 away win.
Happy to be made to look like the fool if we get something, but I can’t shake the feeling that this lineup invites pressure and we struggle when we’re chasing games.

If it works and we get 3 points, NJ should rightfully take the plaudits. All that matters at this stage is getting the points. I wouldn’t dare betting anything on this game because it feels like anything could happen.

It would be the most Charlton thing to get a result.

Was confident pre lineup. Not so much now. Hope NJ and the boys prove me wrong. Coyr.

I'm actually quite optimistic with that line up.

The big unknown is what we've been up to in training all week, and will we 'turn up', and remain focused.

But, yeah, I'm hopeful a corner will be turned this afternoon.
If we get a corner let’s hope someone puts in a decent ball.
  • Guessing the plan is to keep it 0-0 with an attritional long ball for 60 mins and then unleash pace off bench in 2nd half.

Midfield fills me with dread though.
  • Commentator just said Leicester fans have had a few hardships over the last few months. I feel sorry for them.

Good to see that we have some proper Charlton fans in this thread. We don't need plastics.

Isn’t that what he always aims to do? In fact I doubt if he’s bothered about scoring, so obsessed is he with clean sheets. In fact I reckon he insists on this at home too, which is why he’s so tense all the time.

At least he’s taken my advice from the other thread😉, read his Bible and forgiven our captain for his trespasses.

Didn’t realise Andy Hughes was on the Leicester back room staff. What a legend that man is!

    They're both Welsh...

Leicester havent kept a clean sheet in 23 and third worst defence in the league according to coms.

Let's see if we can take advantage of that, win today is a massive result.

The perfect team to experiment with six defenders against then.
