This and Coady are our most hype signings in years and people say we've had a bad window?5
-
Quick look at Twitter and we’ve signed the Kenyan Reza it seems… it’s so annoying imo1
-
Really looking forward to Tel doing his commentary in Swahili to accommodate all the new viewers we get13
-
I admin one of the international Facebook pages and to say we’ve had a few Kenyans join the fold overnight is a slight understatement 😳😂😂
You're going to be busy if they find you guys 😘17 -
Kenya has some 50 million population.
Kenya is geographically the wellspring of all humanity on earth.
Nathan Jones is pretty articulate and has a good vocabulary, so he had no need to sign a dictionary.

Hoping for a new cult hero and an influx of Kenyan supporters. The only worry is the red cards....
Welcome to the BFK!0 -
Literally every post now will have comments about him0

Time to open a Charlton shop in the Bluewater equivalent in Nairobi.12
-
I guess we'll be known as "Collins Sichenje's Charlton Athletic" on the Kenyan version of SkySports.33

If it brings in a wider audience from abroad cant’t knock it. Doubt it will result in extra bums on seats, but it’s nice to have an international fan base4

Posted without reading.
Might already been mentioned……..he has 4 Yellows and 2 Reds already this season.🙄

MacDonald Mariga was another famous footballer from Kenya. He has a large four wheel drive with the number plate MARIGA. I used to see it in Nairobi.MarcusH26 said:Victor Wanyama at Spurs , can't think of many others off the top of my head.2 -
Apparently Zak Vyner is also Kenyan but he was born in Southwark and came through at Bristol City so slightly different0

Collins has a Luhya name and played for the local club, AFC Leopards, in Western Kenya. Their big rivals are Gor Mahia, representing their Luo neighbours.
The Luhya provide many of the Kenya Sevens rugby team, but East Africa, unlike West Africa, does not produce many quality footballers. An honourable exception is our own Nathan Asiimwe from Uganda.
I have spoken to some Kenyan friends, but local footballers do not have much name recognition in Kenya. Kenyans prefer to support EPL clubs, in particular Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea, in that order.
However, I have been told that Collins is a good player and has some pace about him. Let us see.

Certainly catches the imagination and I’m sure Phil Chapple will have done his homework on Collins but I’m doubtful that we’ll see any glimpses of the lad until the season is decided one way or another. I would think the gap in quality between the Serbian Super League and The Championship is going to be quite a step up for him. He’s going to need quite a bit of footballing acclimatisation.2

His names Sichenje

I just hope that the fan base realise that. Too many posters already referring to him as Collins. Bit disrespectful imo, unless we are suddenly getting intimate with the players & calling them by the first names.......which will be a problem when Coady & Coventry are both on the pitch.mascot88 said:Collins - excellent first name10 -
Anderson gets called Karoy a lot and others get called nicknames like TC, we often referred to Naby too. I don't think it's disrespectful, it's just how some names are suited. Like how Solly March can only ever be referred to with his full namegolfaddick said:

Terry better go into hiding then when he calls him Ramsay/Jones/TC/Dykes etc...fenaddick said:

Spoke to one of my Kenyan colleagues today, he told me how to pronounce his name. Its actually very easy once you hear it. Si-Chen (sounds like sen)- Je (chey)
He has only watched him for the international matches and said he is one to watch.2
