I think that’s probably correct but only just. Sunderland away won’t be a picnic for a team low on confidence.
    Sunderland are on the beach.
Spurs have been on the beach most of the season.

BBC are saying there's no form of relegation clause in the contract, absolutely mental
Surely every contract of employment must have a termination clause and hence if the team are relegated there is a ‘get out’ if the sums involved require it.
That’s the point, there’s no clause that drops his wages or a break clause upon relegation. In essence they’d have to pay him off the same amount as they would in the PL, it would effectively mean they couldn’t afford to sack him
Or they have pitched at a level that they can afford him in the (unlikely) event of relegation but he has a bonus and/or increase if they stay in the PL?
There’s no way he’s coming to a job earlier than he wanted on a Championship salary

A few weeks work for very good money and the lure of a  PL role in the most likely scenario?

Don’t forget they can afford to pay more than  the average Championship wage even if relegated.

I doubt the finances are a huge gamble for either party.

Spurs last visit to NZ was 1976.  An old chap who rang talkback said he was in the Auckland team that day in May.

Auckland were leading 3-2 when a young man came on for Tottenham and carved the home team apart and Spurs won 5-3.

    It was Glenn Hoddle.

I saw Hoddle make his debut for England against Bulgaria at Wembley.
The match was postponed the previous evening due to fog and then played the day after.

Not sure about that tbh, the Championship is a tough division, they won’t find it so easy next season…

West Ham at home to Wolves two days before totteringham play.
Quite easily they will be bottom three when they run out to play Sunderland.

General views are they could lose around 200 million quid with a relegation.
And that is IF they were to come back up at the first attempt.

Fucking right too if you are RdZ. He was holding all of the cards.
Surprised he wouldn't want a relegation get out clause though.

He can resign any time he wants.

But not the point I’m making. They will still (in that scenario) pay above average in the Championship as do all relegated teams - hence to some degree parachute payments.

It’s inconceivable his contract doesn’t recognise the risk however it’s constructed.

Not sure that will be in his thinking.

Tottenham's wage bill compared to current Championship clubs.
