Last year Jones with about 3 others were "crocked" by Wycombe in the previous (away) game where we won 0-4. Not that you could call me positive most of the time, but I do fear the worst for this. They've scored 9 goals in last 3 league games. Will be a tough 90 (or 100 as seems common now) minutes, especially if we are without Lloyd.

- Charlton have lost just one of their seven home league games against Wrexham (W2 D4). Their 2-2 draw in League One last season is the only time they’ve hosted the Welsh side this century.
- Following their 1-0 win in November, Wrexham are looking to complete the league double over Charlton for the second time after 1979-80.
- Charlton haven’t scored more than once in any of their last 11 home league games, though they’ve only failed to score on one occasion in that run. They last netted multiple home goals against Sheffield Wednesday in October (2-1).
- Wrexham have won four of their five away league games so far in 2026 (D1), having been winless in their last eight on the road in 2025 (D5 L3).
- Josh Windass is Wrexham’s top scorer in away league games this season with five goals, though four of these came in his first five away game this term (1 in his last nine).

Hand on heart the Wrexham story so far is epic, football wise. The media malarky around them spoils it for me personally, but hey that's life.

I think it’s more a style thing. When we play footballing teams we do well. When we play shithouse teams like us then we don’t. Unfortunately Wrexham are a shithouse team so I don’t think we will do well, give us more chance against Birmingham next week where we can shithouse them like last seasonAddicksi said:We tend to do better when we're not supposed to.3 -

I think that after the terrible defeats to Millwall and Pompey we deserve a blood and guts performance resulting in a turgid 0-0 draw (with the minimum of late stage nailbiting) that only the mighty Addicks can deliver.

With all that has been said with Wrexham, I would not have a problem if the same thing happened to us to shoot us up the table.However, five years ago I would never have believed that I would be seeing them with a strong chance of Premier League football and thinking we might lose a game to them with us fighting relegation and maintaining a play-off spot for them.4

My interpretation of Jones' comment re Chambers was that he was a slight risk to play because of a high number of games in a short period of time, rather than an ongoing issue or injury. I could be wrong, but I'd expect him to be ok for Saturday especially since he was pulled just before the hour mark.
Expecting Coventry to slot in as a like for like replacement for Coady. Very interested to see how he plays, I think he's been a bit unfortunate to be out of the team and he has looked lively in his last few cameos.
What to do with Lloyd Jones? He has played through 'rolled' ankles before with mixed results. In an ideal world we'd rest him but we only have 12 games to amass points and without him we are a different team. That being said I think Keiffer Moore got the better of him last time, so there is an argument for rolling the dice with Sichenje to give Lloyd ten days of recovery for Birmingham. If there's any chance he can play I think he will and I'd expect to see him out there on Saturday but it is a risk.
I hope that we see a change up top. Dykes is clearly the no1 option at the moment, and it seems that Kelman has dropped down the pecking order, so I imagine it'll be TC. It'll be interesting to see if we line up with the 'box' midfield that we saw at the start of the second half v West Brom and at times during Southampton, or if he plays higher up alongside Dykes. I have a feeling it'll be the former to try and take away space in the middle of the park. Offensively the benefit of this is that it allows TC to drift and pick up the ball in wider areas. The downside is that TC is less likely to be in good positions for Dykes' flick-ons and perhaps limits his ability to stretch Wrexham with runs in behind.

I'm an optimist with regards to Charlton but not feeling great about this one. Can't see anything other than a defeat, narrow if we turn up, heavy if we play like Portsmouth or the first half of WBA0

Jones turned up injured last season at Wrexham and we got shafted from the 1st whistle and Lloyd went off early doors from memory.
I also remember Smith steaming into Ramsay and fouling him twice in one move in the early stages and the ref just gave a throw in.
Looks like a 2-0 but it depends how early they score as we might be forced to come out the Alamo and attack.1 -

The logic is we will get thrashed, they must have the league’s best budget, even higher than the teams with Prem parachute money. They were 36th highest spending team in the world last summer, higher net spend than Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund and have better quality in every area on the pitch compared to our bottom three budget players. But… but.. Charlton seem to perform better against teams higher in the league and this is the Championship where anyone can be beaten on any day. Head says 0-2, heart says still 0-1, but you never know.2

Playing wing back has ruined TC's confidence. I hope he's never asked to play there again. He needs to be up top with no real defensive responsibilities other than chasing down the defenders.
