    Some of these finishes 💦💦💦
Were they all in the same match?;)
  • Not meant to be a criticism in any way shape or form but it’s a bit depressing when we’re desperate to sign a player who would be “our star” who can’t get anywhere near the Crystal Palace squad let alone team.
Crystal Palace who were European champions last year.

As much as we hate to admit it they’re a top half established prem side. They’ve just won a European trophy. You wouldn’t bat an eye if he played for Man U or Chelsea.
For the avoidance of doubt, they were not European champions last year.
Conference league champions then if that makes you feel better. The point stands though
  • Palace were initially looking for around 10m for JRS, would imagine it is why we are waiting until the end of the window hoping palace accept a lower offer as it’s likely the last time they will be able to get anything meaningful for him. I expect he’ll end up going somewhere for 4-6m in a few weeks time, hope it is us but if Burnley are genuinely keen would expect him to end up there.

I wouldn’t be paying anything like 4-6 mil and 10 is just madness . What is the justification? He had a good loan spell with us but he didn’t exactly pull up any trees a Stoke or Sheffield United and he’s definitely not going to break in the Nigel’s first team .
But what does JRS want himself?

Its Ok for Palace to say Burnley have bid £10 million (or whatever) and Charlton have only bid £4 million so you're going to Burnley. However, if JRS tells Palace I want to go to Charlton not Burnley and I am not going to sign for Burnley under any circumstance, there's not much Palace can do to make him move to Burnley. In fact, I'm not sure there is anything they can do.

So, who knows, if he really wants to come to Charlton, Palace maybe forced to accept a substantially smaller bid than is on offer elsewhere.

Be careful mate, @Radostanradical and @CAFCsayer had a massive fallout over a similar comment :)
    Thanks for the warning!

I'd better delete my earlier comment sharpish!

They were like dogs with a bone.
  • I’m very much in the ‘I really hope he joins but I think it’s highly unlikely’ camp when it comes to JRS.

If Burnley are interested their parachute money means that even their lower earners are likely on more than our higher, and regardless of who he’s mates with and where he’s from, football is a short career that you must get the most out of while you can.

    Fingers crossed

That's what you call a proper highlight reel. Bring him home.
That poke into the far corner was the best bit of that. I knew it was coming and it still took me by surprise.

Imagine TC, Grant and JRS behind Godden
If that’s your 3 behind the striker you need a Leaburn instead of a Godden. Not one of those players are capable of supplying Godden with quality chances, need a target man that can bring them into play and physically occupy defenders.

Personally I’m convinced Mbick is going to come in and be our best forward

Do you by chance know his family?

    And are they all Palace?
  • Burnley and Wrexham supposedly in for JRS according to FLW.

Think Wrexham would be more of an issue for us than Burnley

  • There’s no way we’re forking out 4 to 6 million on a player.
  • Any news on a new GK, a more dynamic midfielder than Coventry, and a number 9?

  • If he is still that good, resigning Rak-Saki  would be a no brainer :
    Imagine to  Piss the league

    Okonkwo
    Collins,Jones, Billy, Ivan
    Chalobah, Omou
    Rak-saki, Grant, TC
      Mbick

If that became our starting XI where would we finish? Top 8 for sure!!!!!

Yeah that’s fair enough, I let my love for Godden blind me there. I must say Leaburn had a great game on Sat, hope that continues

I think you might need a siesta.

  • No idea if this is realistic but he would be a cracking signing
Twine is brilliant. I’ve wanted him since his Swindon days.

Can't believe there are Wycombe and Leyton Orient fans in the comments saying they'd take him?! 😂

JRS wasn’t rated at a Stoke side that finished 17th and was abysmal at the valley last year when he missed 2 sitters.

Maybe players are just destined to be successful at 1 club and whilst it’s important to consider what he has done in a Charlton shirt I think it’s important to consider what he’s done at Stoke and Sheffield United as well.

From what we have seen he’s guaranteed upgrade in the RW position but there’s no guarantee he will hit the same form and numbers he did previously.
Might be right about Stoke, but Sheffield United fans seem to rate him:

Is it worth noting that Sheffield Utd are not linked to him ? I’d say Chris Wilder is a pretty shrewd manager and why doesn’t he fancy him ?
Haven’t they got cash flow problems ATM?
Didn't stop them signing Phillips on loan from Man City.

  • No idea if this is realistic but he would be a cracking signing
Imagine if he turned up here
  • I would be shocked, but absolutely delighted if we've got 4 million to spend on JRS.

Can't see it, but would love it. Cracking player

He’s actually comfortable there, could see him doing a decent job as cover on the right if Ramsey is out for a while.

Amazed how many people are still underestimating the Championship.
  • Would absolutely love Twine but you'd have to shift Knibbs to make it happen.
