Well, JRS could put an end to it now if f he’s set on coming to us. He’s probably being advised by his agent to wait and see and at least see what’s being offered.fenaddick said:
If true I’d say that’s a pretty positive developmentSOTF said:Some gossip yesterday from Palace’s side.
I was out for dinner with my brother-in-law and his Dad (a CEO for a huge international firm who’s a Palace fan, often tapped up by Palace hierarchy for sponsorship and very well connected with their boardroom) says the JRS deal is verbally agreed by all parties but Palace are waiting to see if a better offer comes in before signing off.
The talk was that Jes will need to push it through and ignore other interest (which exists), to stop things being dragged on to the end of the window.

This is exactly how many transfers play out.

So performative. Just ignore it and move on, instead of making a big deal out of eliminating its existence on page 657 on a rumors thread on a football forum.Uboat said:@Laddick01 Please delete.2 -
I can well believe this is the scenario that is playing out.SOTF said:Some gossip yesterday from Palace’s side.

I am not familiar with how football transfers play out. Can JRS basically say to Palace, look Steve, i want to move to Charlton and I'm happy with the deal they're offering me, i don't want to go anywhere else Can we just agree it now please?

Which is not the advice he will be getting from his agent...Alwaysneil said:I am not familiar with how football transfers play out. Yes of course he can, they then have to decide whether to take our offer or hope he can be encouraged to change his mind.Alwaysneil said:I am not familiar with how football transfers play out. Grant will be used centrally or on the left, and if we are relying on either Apter or Alli as starters you can start planning for Doncaster and Burton next year. But you are right, it should not be the end of the world. For some time before the JRS frenzy started, NJ was saying we would buy a right-sided player and he knew who we would be going for. I am pretty certain from context that that player was not JRS, but someone who fitted NJ's criteria better, i.e. could defend as well as attack. I wonder if that player is still available, whoever it was?RodneySe7Trotter said:Would it be the end of the world if we didn’t get this over the line? Apter hasn’t become a bad player overnight,(player of the month last august), and there’s Mili Alli and Grant in that position too. It’d be great if we do but I’d be comfortable going into the season with this squad. Just a thought from a long time reader, first time poster….be gentle 🥹
Wecome to the board, by the way. I am just sorry you chose Se7. We have a million of them already. Most confusing. I would have recommended "Ludwig".1 -

Well we have already shown we have the money for a significant outlay on the RW position...... so cant see we would ever be relying on Apter or Alli as starters even if JRS wasnt here.1 -
Hopefully all a distraction and we’ve convinced nwaneri to come on loan 😂3

Good point, I wanted his proper name but Charlton was too many letters. Bloody hard to think of a tag 😅wolfgang said:

Does anyone know who this GK Coach is? Had a look on website but couldn't find him and sit too far away to see him properly? Heard it was Adam Bogdan the old Liverpool GK?21cws said:Picking up a kebab and the ginger GK coach just leaving sparrows lane now 👀0 -

Of course. I think the fears are that the JRS decision comes too late to buy or borrow someone else of quality, and that NJ's original choice is no longer available.DamoNorthStand said:

Based on turning up an hour early for our home game and watching the keepers warm up, I’d be amazed if it’s Adam Bogdan. The coach I saw looked about 5ft 10 and built like Peter Garland.FlipsideSam said:

It's definitely not Bogdan. You can see him in the video the club put out on social media of Okonkwo's first training sessionFlipsideSam said:

Yes, he can but Palace don't have to agree.Alwaysneil said:I am not familiar with how football transfers play out. But neither can they force JRS to move somewhere he doesn't want to go.
My guess is palace want the maximum amount they can get, understandably, and hope either someone else acceptable to JRS comes in or we blink and up our offer.5 -
