Who’s this in player travel gear yesterday? (Off the clubs IG story)

ok yeah ignore me. Defo the u21s keeper
    Did someone say something?
Nah. Just found his Instagram and seen he recently signed a pro contract. Does that mean anything for Mannion then?
    Club said Mannion was injured
He is injured. A shoulder injury. I was told he will be out for a few weeks.

Is that two pre seasons in a row he’s randomly got an injury? Seems a bit odd no?

Like others have said, we need to use our squad and maybe give a few players a rest on Wednesday night?

I’d play Apter/Alli, Knibbs, Mbick, Collins and give a few players a chance to recover in time for Preston
I think he’ll play a strong side but rest the usual suspects that really shouldn’t play 3 games in a week - Bell, Chalobah, Leaburn, Grant .  I’d probably rest TC too .
Spot on. Those are the five I hope he rests.

Don’t see us making 11 changes….. we have never done that for a big cup game even deeper into the season when players are tired.

    Can see around 5-7 changes

It might put him off going there. Better to join a club that's clearly going to steamroll the league.

I think the career JRS saw for himself when he left us on a high really hasn’t happened for him. Not had a chance to settle and hasn’t impressed Palace enough to give him a chance either. If he’s sensible he’ll look at his next club as somewhere to rebuild that enormous promise. I can just see it being us and not another northern outpost. He’s already won Charlton fans over so he comes back as a returning hero. Hope we make him an offer that means he can afford to choose us over Burnley who will probably offer more.

I know South London isn't perfect but why would he choose a place that looks like it's from Fallout over us?

He’ll spend zero time in Burnley which is a shithole. He’ll live somewhere nice and in the countryside and move between there and the trading ground and stadium. I doubt the state of Burnley town centre will enter into it.

Hasn’t it been said previously that JRS is not hugely money driven? I’m sure Parrish is but let’s hope both ourselves and JRS can overcome that.

Probably get a place that's an easy drive to the railway museum.

Disagree. Think we’ll make 11 changes in terms of formation and 10 in terms of personnel.

    Won’t risk any of them.

    Brooks

    sichenje
    Burke
    Bell
    Mesik

    JRC
    Ouma/Mwamba (45 each)
    Knibbs

    Alli
    Apter

    Mbick

    League just too important.

There will be quite a few first team players who will want to play against Spurs and won’t want a rest . Jones being top of that list I suspect. I’m expecting 6 or 7 changes .

    Okonkwo

    Sichenje; Jones; Koumetio; Mesik

    Coventry; Mwamba

    Alli; Knibbs; Campbell

    Mbick

Would put Mwamba in the eleven with Ouma on the bench

Not a bad call…. Either way I was seeing a 60/30 min split between them

This cup tie is looking to be a bit of a pain now, what with our promising start, and will no doubt involve a host of changes from Saturday...

From the Cawley and Mendez ost match pod, Cawley confirmed that Burnley are in for JRS.
He said it does depend to what level of Palaces demands they’re prepared to go to.
I’d suggest its also very much up to JRS then.
If he wants to be in London as some have suggested then that would probably tip the balance and force Palaces hand.

Also said he thought we wouldn’t be able to meet their demands and JRS wages etc, but he’s now heard that we are prepared to! It’s not a done deal though according Rich but sounds a lot more positive and with TC signing a new deal, I think it could balance in our favour.
I put that Burnley were in for him yesterday. But as per usual people on here didn’t believe what I said. If Burnley are serious they could blow us out of the water. Plus wages will be higher. But I know Rak Sakyi is more interested in joining us.
Still absolutely convinced Burnley aren't going to spend 5M on a back up right winger without serious pedigree for a club with that level of ambition

Possibly but they looked pretty ordinary today.
