I can’t see us getting rid of Burke.  Koumetio and Bell have been injury prone historically. Collins and Josh are coming off of injuries.  Kayne is currently injured.  We need defensive cover even if he is not in the match day squad.
Week of the window left Kaminski, Asiimwe, Docherty, Kanu and one of Apter/Knibbs/JRC still need to be moved on and Fullah still needs this loan move sorted still a lot to get done
Can’t see Apter ( as NJ already said part of the squad this season ) Knibbs is back up to Carey in the 10 role … JRC would be the only one that don’t seem to have role but NJ used him now in two games ?? ….. think Doc still has a role to play  in certain games like yesterday …?????? What about Ramsey could we cash in on him , to be honest we not missed him ??
So Burke wont be going, nor Apter, or Doc.....and you want to keep 1 of Knibbs or JRC.

You do know we have to move on at least 3 players (4 if JRS signs).

Its going to be a difficult decision, esp as it seems there are no takers atm. Perhaps selling TC & Leaburn is the answer 😄

4 to go if JRS signs?

    Doc
    Apter
    Kanu
    JRC

But might not be that easy as you have to find a taker first.

Have a feeling that we may need to cash in on someone unexpectedly (to clear a squad space as much as the money).

Ramsay I can imagine not wanting to sign a new deal as much as anything. Seems crazy to even consider it though

JRC and Collins can cover RB, as can our right footed LWB, Campbell and Mesik.
    Collins yes.

JRC - lets just say I seriously hope thats something I never have to witness.
Fella at work is a Blackburn fan, and when we signed JRC, he said he was good at right back, not so good in midfield but wanted to play in midfield and that's why he was looking for a move.

So might be fine there if needed!

    Ronnie would not mind that.

Can add Asiimwe and Kaminski to that.

    Okonkwo/Kaminski/Mannion/Brooks (4)
    Ramsay/Mcnamara/Asiimwe (7)
    Jones/Sichenje/Burke (10)
    Koumetio/Mesik (12)
    Bell/Edwards (14)
    Chalobah/Coventry (16)
    Ouma/JRC/Doc (19)
    Carey/Knibbs (21)
    JRS (tbc🤞)/Apter (23)
    TC/Grant/Alli (26)
    Leaburn/Godden/Kelman/Kanu (30)

    Mbick,Mwamba, Fullah classed as youngsters.

Means we need to get rid of 5 players to get from a 30 man squad to 25 man squad.
    Kaminski (guaranteed)
    Asiimwe (guaranteed)
    Kanu (guaranteed)
    Doc (more or less guaranteed)
JRC or Knibbs or Apter (Jones choice)

Knibbs won't leave but if we sign JRS, Apter is as good as gone.

Think Doc needs a little more respect, his efforts at the end of the last season need commending and was a massive help in our staying up but if NJ is being ruthless then he will be gone/not registered.

Kanu, Kaminski and Asiimwe aswell. Could also loan out Brooks if possible to free up a space if we need to keep an outfield player for whatever reason.

That’s just not true. We need depth which apter  provides

You can not go into a league with 2 registered keepers, especially Mannion who is very injury prone for a keeper. you lose two keepers too injury ur stuck with a 18yr old keeper or an emergency loan who’s the equivalent of Harry Isted.

24 outfield players when you consider we have Mwamba and Mbick should be plenty. We don’t even have Ramsay, Burke, Edwards, Doc, Ouma, Godden, Kelman in the squad at West Ham and we did pretty decently

I never said we should? I just pointed out it could be a calculated risk should we need an extra outfield player registered.

I know South London isn't perfect but why would he choose a place that looks like it's from Fallout over us?
He’ll spend zero time in Burnley which is a shithole. He’ll live somewhere nice and in the countryside and move between there and the trading ground and stadium. I doubt the state of Burnley town centre will enter into it.

I may well be wrong but will a 23 year old, South Londoner like Ray Sakyi want to go and live "somewhere nice in the countryside"?  Not convinced.

Burke played all of 45 mins for the U21s in the week. Are we sure he is fit?
So did other first team players ???

Wouldn't have said this at all when he signed his new year deal but wondering if it was perhaps a mistake to keep Godden as his body unfortunately seems to be failing him in the past year and into this season. Hopefully i'm wrong and he plays plenty of games.
In the training video on YouTube from Tuesday you see Godden make a really fast sprint! As he demonstrated last season, he's still got something to offer and still knows where the back of the net is!
Not saying he is slow. Just seems to be picking up regular injuries
And that’s probably what pulled his hamstring

Apter will go if we can generate any interest. If we do manage to sign JRS then that will be it for him. As much as people might talk about depth and Apter covering the right we’ve just won three games on the trot playing Grant and Campbell and having them swap wings throughout the game. Add JRS and Alli on top of that and Apter is the odd man out. It’s a shame given we’re now playing with wingers but he’s not covered himself in glory

Apter will also desperately want out, no way will he be happy being 5th choice winger and barely playing. I think he will definitely leave once we have our new winger sorted

Apter is also relatively slow (for a winger at least) whereas all the other wing options are pretty speedy. If he was to be part of the front three system there would be a question as to whether he would fit into the style we play for me.

We have  our lists of players to move on but someone has to want to  take them. Lots of clubs are in the same boat trying to get numbers to fit the registration limits. If you had spaces there's going to be some good pick ups.

If it’s going to be that much of a problem with squad numbers then perhaps if completely necessary we come to an agreement with Apter to pay off half his contract and release him. As a free agent I’m sure he’d get some interest. Very bad business for us and an expensive lesson but the lad isn’t ever getting a game with us again and he needs shifting out. He could refuse of course but it would halt his career in its tracks and probably reduce his chances of getting a club for a year maybe.

If a week is a long time in Politics then 2 championship matches and a league cup game are an eon and have totally changed the status and opinion of Tyreece Campbell with the Charlton fanbase since the 26/27 season kicked off.

Rak Saki would be another wide man to go with TC, Grant, Alli and possibly Apter who would be much better in 4-2-3-1 than the wing back role he found himself in before. Not sure how Rob would force his way in other than injuries to Karlan or TC.

Bizarrely as much as I would like to see JRS added to  the Charlton ballers, the most important thing is keeping TC and the way Nathan was talking to Louis on Charlton live it sounds like the ink has dried on the contract.

I did say Burnley would be interested in JRS a week ago but a poster said no way because he wasn't a great success at Sheffield United and Stoke but with the lancs club having sold winger Tchaound to Coventry for 20 million then 5 million for Rak-Sakyi sounds about right.

Definitely feels keeping TC is paramount and having JRS as another flair player option would be sublime in this born again 4-2-3-1 with wing backs so last year!

The difference with the doom and gloom after the pre season fitness matches is tangible.

Assume someone at the club has hacked my calendar and knows I'm in meetings for basically the next 6 hours. Expect to come out the other side to TC signing, Kaminksi going, Fullah out on loan and JRS signing

Because I don’t think he’s signed it yet. It’s close judging by the mood music but not yet put pen to paper. Perhaps that’s expected today.
