I really think we do not need JRS. His record is not that great/overrated  and we have Godden, Leaburn, Grant, MBick and TC. Better to strengthen elsewhere.

    Charlton - League 1: 15 goals in 43 games

Sheff United: 7 goals in 34 games

Obscure Turkish team: 4 goals in 11 games

    Stoke: 2 goals in 15

    Overhyped IMHO

I very rarely comment... but what a silly post.
Made worse by the fact that he made an identical post on 19 August and loads of people pointed out that JWS is a winger and not a striker.
    who is JWS?
JWS is our plan B if we don’t get JRS. Hopefully an upgrade on JRC. I’m told plays similar to JFC. Just hope he doesn’t see it as one last payday like JFH.
You missed JBG. We never did sign JCH, but maybe we’ll sign JWP one day. JCR never did break through and make the impact that JRS did in his first spell.

    It's JR-S.

Those saying JRS is overhyped are, in my opinion, missing the non-footballing factors that have affected his loans. Being far from home, system, roles he was asked to play, starting vs bench etc.

Coming to us just feels like the right move for him. We are playing better football and the perfect system for him. Close to home and with lots of close friends in the squad. Manager who will get the best out of him, club making progress. Timing and everything about it just feels bang on.

Just because someone has got a different view doesn’t make them a troll.

It’s all about opinions and it’s good that people feel comfortable and confident enough to express that even if it differs from the consensus view.

Challenge it, debate it, but we shouldn’t be trying to suppress it.  That’s not how forums work effectively.
Tell that to some on here, how dare anyone have a different opinion to theirs!

I’ve been personally abused through DM’s and the like!

So, in truth I always have to wear a tin hat when posting on some threads.

Jones on responding to TC and Jones signing new contracts:

And on transfer rumours and on any incoming moves:

"We will bring in. It's just when and who."
Could be a signing, or could be Kayne Ramsay also signing a new contract.

You don’t offer opinions though, and are clearly routinely posting  repetitive off topic contributions to rile others (like the one removed earlier). Let’s talk offline

Not sure how reliable that is though… :-)

Imagine someone telling you at the start of the window we’d tie down new contracts for all of Jones, TC, and Ramsay, whilst also signing JRS and replacing Kaminski with Okonkwo.

That alone would have made my summer nevermind the additions of Mcnamara, Grant, Koumetio, Mesik, Alli.
Got a feeling Koumetio will end up being the best of all when we look back in a few years.
I agree mate and will be really suprised if he is still with us in 12 months time

Playing devils advocate a little bit here. We all know we currently have the nubers we need across the pitch (except arguably RW) Is it possible that we have enouhg "powder" for one player of quality who will take us up a level but arent dead set in which area of the pitch it comes. So possibly it could be that if JRS falls through we go back for Holsgrove. The only thing that changes is who we look to ship out. We can say if we dont get JRS then Apter as 4th choice winger is good enough and Holsgrove will take our midfield up another level so lets move on Doc and JRC.

    Just random speculation tbh.
You don't fly to England because a deal that's clearly going to go through might not go through

A player might fail the medical.
A medical technically isn’t to determine if a player is fit, it’s to determine how much insurance you pay
Or to confirm the player is definitely carrying a niggle in Chrlton's case

I found this quite an interesting quote from NJ via Rich

“We kind of have deals in place and offers that we can push the button on,” said Jones. “We have to juggle that and see what we need - to give us the best squad moving forward from September 1 until January 1.

“That is what we have to do, make really good sane decisions now on who we let go and who we bring in.”

I don't want to read too much into that but that doesn't sound like a manager that just is signing a RW....
I think that was about outgoings mainly

Jones went with the same line on JRS, likes the player but is a Palace player and we are no closer to that deal. Suspect it’s a red herring and he doesn’t ever give anything away especially with potential signings!

Sounds like Ramsay is next to sign a new deal.

Maybe not, but it does sound like a manager who has done his homework with what we need and who's available.

No doubt a few twists and turns to come - including players leaving?

If Holsgrove is off on the motorway to another club, Nathan Jones needs to give Curbs a bell and find out how he intercepted Claus Jensen at the services on the way to Ipswich. Don’t know if many people know that story.
Would love to hear it please

This is what I'm wondering if there's a few twists and unexpected outs to come that maybe aren't the immediately obvious names we've done to death on this thread.

Think we're in for a very intriguing week.
