  • Rak-Sakyi on Friday is my prediction... No knowledge (shock / horror)... Just the whole... "Lets surprise Preston" sort of thing
Do they not pay for sky sports then?
They're struggling to sign anyone... So could be a stretch for them ;)
    That’s a fair point actually 😂
On a serious note, you have to wonder how much a team can prep for every potential signing... Preston will know that there is a good chance Rak-Sakyi will join, not just through the media, but imagine through other avenues as well, just look at the rumours we find out through people in the game being unable to keep secrets.
Unless a deal happens early in the week, the opposition club must just surely take the approach of: "If he joins, he joins... We cant deal with every possible scenario" - Imagine they'll have the attitude that there is a slim chance he'll start Saturday, or even be in the match day squad
Is he even match fit? Surely he wouldn't go straight in and start when the XI just got a brilliant away win.

Even if JRS joins this week I can't see him being in the squad for Preston, he's barely had a proper pre season.
By all accounts he's been playing for Palace in pre season so will have some level of fitness.

Remember going to a Phil Parkinson Q&A at the Valley and he was asked what was up with Moutaouakil, why this amazing player wasn’t in our team. He said something along the lines of Yassin’s talent is unbelievable but it’s impossible to get him to do anything. Something like “you try telling him to run from A to B and he just won’t do it”
Wasn’t he very close to another player’s mum too?
Not her Mum, he was very close to another players Wife./ partner

In all honesty it sounds like Holsgrove would be a bit of a punt. Nothing other than some largely irrelevant stats given the league he’s playing in. Jones wants him though we’ve been told so I guess if he does go to QPR then we can consider it a serious missed target. Surely the fee can’t be anywhere near £3.5 million I’ve seen bandied about.
Also, can't even get in the Scotland squad, and they're awful.
And Lloyd Jones can't even get in the Wales squad...
Been through this on the Lloyd Jones thread but he’s not eligible
Remember it being discussed but I don't think that was ever 100% certain as he switched at youth level.
It can be reversed if the FA agree to release him. Paperwork can take time.

Think his minutes tailed off as the season got closer, he'll be fit but not sharp. Probably a couple of sub appearances to start

Same would have happened when he switched from Wales to England

Negotiations were still taking place with Rak Sakyi and I presume his agent yesterday. We just have to be patient.

If he was having a medical yesterday I can’t see why negotiations were still going on.

Has any team ever announced a signing on the pitch at an away game?

If so it sounds like the cringiest thing ever.

May not have been a serious suggestion. But I think we should do it anyway.

If JRS doesn’t sign now I think it will be the biggest damp squib in our history. In fact, a full on wet squid!

Most squid are wet to be fair, what with being aquatic animals.

Spurs are not waiting until tomorrow for signings one yesterday and maybe one today why should we wait for JRS?.He was at our training ground yesterday.
What's the hurry? Rather we sign him after getting the best deal for the club, than rush into it.

If he signs, he signs. If he doesn't, I'm sure NJ has a plan B.

I dont think anything will beat Jeremy Goss not showing up after Clubcall assured me he had signed, but it would certainly run it close.

How? Find someone with a really loud voice?

According to the other site, he has signed.
  • If JRS doesn't sign, the overwhelming attitude will likely be that he goes from being the final piece in the jigsaw to pending glory, to one of;

    "He's not all that!"
    "He's failed everywhere he's gone!"
    and finally,
    "Who?"

Football fans can be pretty fickle, and so if it's not to be we move on without him.

    .......but I hope he signs!!

Johnnie Jackson in his last playing year moved quicker than the SMT in getting this over the line. Christ.
