I mean he’s still technically TK’s skipper. I suspect he feels a duty to support his teammate

Wish Doc all the best wherever he ends up, gave100% for us, unfortunately our evolution is outgrowing him at this point in his career.

Think it will be top end League 1 or MLS for Doc ultimately.

The Leicester rumour never made much sense to me because Martinball wouldn't suit him.

SPL maybe but wages might be tough

Wouldn’t be surprised if Scotland is his destination.

Don't think outside the old firm and Hearts his wages would be affordable.

Not really a Bloom/Jamestown Analytics type signing anyway.

So if we play a back 4, Bindon is not a guaranteed starter if Billy is basically fine
No, but Billy has a history of injuries, we're clearly not confident about playing Mesik or Bell at CB in a 4, Collins is likely to be out for the season and Burke can't be relied on so I'd still expect him to be playing a lot of football. Lloyd also really could have done with being left out at points last season to recover so having a CB who is comfortable on the right or left and could realistically take the shirt off one of the others is a great spot to be in. Wouldn't be that surprised if he got in and kept Billy out based on how highly rated he is
So do we have 3 left backs then in Edwards, Bell and Mesik? I assumed Mesik would cover can as well as we don’t need 3, surely?
We have no evidence yet that Edwards is either match fit or recovered to where he was a year ago after his serious injury. He will have to be both to make it in the Champ.
He being playing in the under 21 matches they been having at the training ground

Because we are trying to be more progressive going forward with a bit more quality on the ball, sad for Doc but his qualities don’t suit what we are trying to achieve if he wants to play as much as he needs to.

Wish Doc all the best. An excellent professional and leads by example with his work rate. Hope he gets a decent gig and a team that plays to his strengths.

Doc has his limitations, but he skippered us to promotion and always tried his hardest on the pitch.  Seems a fantastic person as well, if he goes I will remember him fondly and wish him the best at whichever club is lucky enough to sign him.

Haven’t seen Holsgrove linked anywhere else since he arrived in London. @stjohnshill any more on that?

Dobson not in the Wrexham squad tonight. Is he injured?
On his way to Charlton, and quite right too.

For what it’s worth, I saw Billy walk off on Wednesday without any limp or anyone having to accompany him so that matches the precautionary substitution that NJ is talking about.
For what it’s worth I saw him limp off.
I’ve seen much worse limps, but he was definitely a bit stiff legged.

Dobson was mentioned in Cawley’s article today (for context when he left), found it quite strange it was in the middle of Jones talking about incomings.

    In on loan maybe?

Watching on TV, he definitely clutched at his hamstring as he walked off.

Jones mentioned that he was still in touch with Dobbo too.

Don’t see it myself but you never know!

Dan Kanu didn't win the Div 2 young player of the year award by accident. I'd like us to up his wages for another year or two and loan him to a Div 1 team, like Reading/Huddersfield. Then we would really see if we have a star in the making.

I don't see that helps our budget.

I would imagine Dobson's wages at Hollywood F.C. dwarf Doc's...

I hope we do go back for JRS really think he could make a difference in this side, especially with TC on the other wing. No idea why it's fallen though he doesn't seem particularly injury prone maybe it will be a late night deadline day deal. He needs to get away from Palace to further his career
Failed a medical = no insurance.

As I said earlier ask Patrice Muamba. Fit as a butcher's dogs, seemingly. Didn't stop him dropping down dead at White Hart Lane. Ask Ericsson. A failed medical doesn't have to be a muscle problem.

And he'll still, I assume, have the same agent, especially if it's a family member. Do you think NJ and Rodwell will forget about  the past difficulties?

Water under the bridge, move on. The club have had to.

I thought the same. Strange segue in the interview. ‘We still speak today’ or something like that. Could be nothing and not a position we’re lacking in but you never know. Jones never wanted him to leave so you’d think would welcome him back.
