I know Doc is championship standard. You don’t have to be able to “ping a ball 40 yards” to play well in the Championship. Just because it looks like his time is up with us doesn’t mean he couldn’t do a great job at another championship side.SEaddick92 said:It’s actually mental how anyone can think Doc is Championship standard, yes the bloke gives 100% but his footballing ability to pass and even ping a ball 40 yards is beyond me, thank you for everything you’ve done for the club but we move on.. we currently have better.8 -
I don't know. I could be completely wide of the mark. All I know is what we've been told. There are issues with his agent, and he failed a medical. A medical could discover many things. None of which we know. Nor should we.BigRedEvil said:
Are you hinting at JRS having a heart condition that a medical showed up?SteveACS said:
Failed a medical = no insurance.BigRedEvil said:I hope we do go back for JRS really think he could make a difference in this side, especially with TC on the other wing. No idea why it's fallen though he doesn't seem particularly injury prone maybe it will be a late night deadline day deal. He needs to get away from Palace to further his career
As I said earlier ask Patrice Muamba. Fit as a butcher's dogs, seemingly. Didn't stop him dropping down dead at White Hart Lane. Ask Ericsson. A failed medical doesn't have to be a muscle problem.
And he'll still, I assume, have the same agent, especially if it's a family member. Do you think NJ and Rodwell will forget about the past difficulties?
Water under the bridge, move on. The club have had to.
I certainly hope not firstly for him personally and professionally believe in the right side he will be a top championship level player
But the club has made a decision to walk away. Considering hiow much some on this forum complain about some of our player injury records who haven't failed a medical, you would think CL should be delighted we walked away...
But they don't. Because they'd rather sign a JRS who failed a medical, than a Burke who didn't...0 -
To give him minutes? Do you do this to troll or are you really that stupid?golfaddick said:
So why sign him. But more importantly, once signed why was he thrown into a big cup match.daveydanger said:Think a few people have been a bit harsh on Ouma after a tough debut against spurs after playing no preseason games

I guess the JRS move only happens if Palace agree to drop the price substantially in light of what has been discovered (to say £1m).
Seems like he would be able to secure a move when a big fee is not involved, as he has successfully done so multiple times in the last few years (when the risk to the buyer was less & only a modest loan fee was involved).
It’s very strange that he passed medicals at Sheff Utd, Stoke, a Turkish club & us over the last 4 years but has suddenly failed this one.
If this problem is likely to come up again (& it may have already done so when he failed to move last summer & bizarrely ended up going to Turkey) then Palace need to decide whether a small fee this summer is better than no fee at all next summer.
They are v.unlikely to find any club happy to pay £4m for him if he comes with a medical issue & consequently big insurance challenges.3 -
Stop bringing logic here.Valley11 said:Having read it back, the link is Ramsay signing his extension and Jones saying how important that is - so we don’t have another Dobson situation.

I’ve only seen it speculated but none of the trusted sources have added that to the issue with the agent(s)9 -
In October 2025, Tiitinen was named in the list of Next Generation 2025: 60 of the best young talents in world football by The Guardian, as the fourth Finnish player ever.

A
player I know a lot about, having seen him play for ilves over the last couple of years.
Had a dream debut against HJK at just 16, scored two class goals.
Great vision, technically very good and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Good awareness for a player of his age. Still young and quite raw though and will need to develop physically.
Had a few injury issues over the past couple of seasons so charlton would need to monitor him closely.
Has the potential to really push on but will need to adjust to the physicality and pace of English football.

Why does the journalist say he plays for HJK? From what I can see he’s plays for Ilves. Doesn’t make him look like a reliable source.FinlandMatt said:

FM says he’s a left footed DM/CM, rated as a good prospect but not one for the first team.
Fun to have a random foreign player linked in a more unusual loan to our u21s deal. Reminds me of us signing Jani Tanska and Rurik Gislason, neither who made it.
Ilves have a great badge btw.

Wonder how the deal would work, as you're only allowed four International Players who dont meet the work permit requirements of having played 75% of international games - Sichenje, Ouma and Mesik don't meet that, so wouldn't make sense wasting the fourth and final slot on someone who is going to sit in our U21s1

Ilves is a great club! With great people, the logo is definitely unforgettable.Scoham said:

I know people involved with Ilves, and I have had it confirmed by someone I trust and know is reliable that this could be a real possibility, Eetu has been quite reliable in the past with transfers as well. There is not that many people reporting on transfers in Finland.
The post itself I translated, Finnish tends to not translate into English very well. Hence why it said HJK, that's not actually what the post says in Finnish.
I have always thought Ilves would be a great place for charlton prospects to develop.
Senior football, fantastic stadium, good fans, excellent training facilities and until this season, regular European football.
Like Charlton, Ilves have always focused on developing young talent. Tiitinen stands out by a country mile, he definitely has something about him.40 -
He's definitely not ready for championship football.ForeverAddickted said:Wonder how the deal would work, as you're only allowed four International Players who dont meet the work permit requirements of having played 75% of international games - Sichenje, Ouma and Mesik don't meet that, so wouldn't make sense wasting the fourth and final slot on someone who is going to sit in our U21s
So would 100% be a development player for now7 -

How many sponsors can you fit on a Finnish shirt!? and we complain about RSK being a big on the large size.2

Finland Matt - could you post the original? Some of us speak Finnish or have Finnish wives. Kiitos.Ilves is a great club! With great people, the logo is definitely unforgettable.

Do we think that because the Rak Saki deal fell through we’re gonna spread that money out on a few players say 3 or 4 before the window shuts, would we have taken that or would we rather have Rak Saki . I feel like if we get Bindon , a right winger , striker and a youngster like this then it could be more beneficial.

So would 100% be a development player for nowThats my point... Why would we waste an International slot on a development player... Doesn’t make sense.Regardless if he comes here to play for the First Team / U21s, we'd still need to obtain a work permit for him?1 -

If there’s substance to the Otto Tiitenen rumour it’s exactly what we should be doing. No he’s not ready for first team squad by all accounts but won’t be costly and would be a player with a lot of potential to add to the development squad. It’s really encouraging that the club are really upping their foreign scouting where there’s oodles of talent and good value.25

Medical on Monday apparently (according to the Finnish untranslated version)2

I know last year spurs loaned a youth striker from hearts. Obviously not ready for the first team and used up a loan space but it was essentially an extended trial period.Maybe that’s what we’re looking at doing here. Have a look at him and see if he can adapt. If he’s got potential we maybe take the inconvenience of him using an international player spot for now to ensure we have a good chance of buying him in the future?1

“He not Finnish…he’s only 18”33
