Mbick seems unlikely to get a L1 loan with seven weeks until the window closes and him not training yet.
A year ago, Kanu went to Walsall on 22nd August. Mbick went to Colchester on 1st September. The first loan out of last summer happened on 30th July (Asiimwe to Wimbledon).
They weren’t coming back from long term injuries though. The loan club will want assurances about his fitness which could be hard to provide

I think we need to let Mbick get fit and then see if he’s ready to compete for a first team spot before looking to get him out on loan.

If it turns out he’s ready (and I’m not saying he is) we don’t want to miss out and have to wait until January to recall him. By then there could be even bigger bids if he does well.

It is a big jump and Fullah found it hard at times, but every player is different, and he’s made huge progress since his unconvincing cameos for us in L1. It would be wrong to assume he’s a level or two below Leaburn or that he’s too young for our first team.

... there’s a reason why he kept Leaburn almost entirely out of the team since he joined - he fits the Nathan Jones system better.
Yes, there was a reason. Leaburn was far from fully fit. When fit, which he hopefully now is, he is twice the player Dykes is, and more versatile. He could fit various formations, unlike Dykes.

I am not against signing Dykes if we really cannot afford better. He is better than nothing, but it would be the harbinger of a season of struggle at the bottom.

If we are serious about upgrading our squad this window, we have to create space - i expect the likes of Leaburn, Kanu, Fullah and any other young first team squad players to be loaned out or sold and i think that's where the ruthless bit is going to come into it.

I've said before, and I'll say it again...

Dykes played in the current Wirld Cup...

As a metric, which better striker in this Wirld Cup do yo think Charlton could afford? Transfer fee and and wages.

    Temper your expectations...
Him playing in a World Cup is irrelevant.

He got into that squad (a shit squad at that) because Steve Clarke didn’t like Oli McBurnie the much better striker.

Any other manager takes McBurnie and not dykes.

He was not in that squad on merit
Or Steve Clarke maybe considered Dykes fitted the team gameplan better?

Dykes has 41 goals in 222 EFL appearances. This suggests a lack of service is not his problem, but a lack of talent.

We need decent Championship experience in the mould of Coady, Clarke, Dykes and Bree. We’re seemingly struggling to compete with other clubs in signing that level of quality. We must have that or we are doomed. Loans are going to be key here I think. Who we get in that’s surplus at our level could define our season. Any money we do have should be targeted at a couple of important areas. Attacking central midfield and RWB. Striker as the cherry on the cake. Spend our money on those areas and make smart loan moves.

But, he is all we can afford, if we’re lucky.

If Leaburn started to use his size, put himself about a lot more, and just play with more confidence, we would have no need to be worrying about Dykes
Hoping this is a big year for him. Last season was just about getting confidence in his body again. Now he’s had a relatively injury free season he hopefully trusts his body more and can kick on

Think the experience of playing in the championship last year will mean Kelman, Leaburn and Campbell can improve quite a lot this season having learnt a lot last season about playing at this level

If we are aspiring to Coady, Clarke, Dykes and Bree we are f**ked.

Coady, great reading of the game but 36 and no pace.
Clarke was ok running from deep, but further forward and back to goal, couldn't
     beat a man.
Dykes ran around alot and for a big man didnt win a lot in the air or hold it up. No passing ability.
Bree. Was he injured? Couldn't cross. Worth £1m plus high wages? No.

Would hope we are in attendance here. Kabore probably the name that stands out here that might be realistic and in a position we need
Divin Mubama was very highly rated at West Ham before rejecting a new contract and signing for City..
we won’t be able to afford any of these players.
    How do you know that?

We aspired to them last season and weren’t.

Really really don’t want Dykes back. Going into next season with the exact same strike force as last season would be insanity.
Be patient. The club have it all under control.
Why make promises about disappearing for a while if you just instantly post again?

You get everyone's hopes up. It's mean

I have high hopes for Miles think this will be the season he kicks on and starts to show his potential. Personally feel that he could form a good partnership with Charlie Kelman.

Better to save up and go with what we have if that's the case.

We also need to sell Carey for £2m and buy Iorpenda for £1m.
Maybe we could sell Jones for £750k and buy Ness for £300k too?
Well that would be stupid. Ness is decent and will rise but not to the heights of Lloyd.
