If you're looking to remedy the disappointment of last night with this thread given how transfer news is moving at the moment, I fear you won't exit your state of disappointment4 -
Actually think Doc would be an outstanding signing for Leicester next season. Their whole club has lacked leadership on and off the field and he would be a brilliant player to bring in to help them solve that.CB1 said:Doc is receiving attention from Blackburn, Bolton and Leicester as well as MLS clubs.(Daily Record)9 -
Bristol City signing Tolaj from Plymouth, who was a player I know a few on here fancied for us0
-
This is probably blind optimism but I’m somewhat encouraged by the complete transfer silence at the moment. If there was a lack of money and we were failing to land our targets I think we would hear a lot more b/s rumours in an effort to keep the fans happy.8

That is what is called in the trade wishful thinking.charente addick said:This is probably blind optimism but I’m somewhat encouraged by the complete transfer silence at the moment. Pepple close to leaving too apparently. He’s a good player but that money seems mad. You can see why the game is in so much trouble and makes our Kelman price look reasonable.NabySarr said:
Fee apparently around £5-6m. Gives Plymouth some money to spend which might help us get Mitchell and maybe Kanu out the doormart77 said:Bristol City signing Tolaj from Plymouth, who was a player I know a few on here fancied for us8 -
So for £5-£6m that’s another one that we’ve not missed out on then while Dykes remains an option.mart77 said:Bristol City signing Tolaj from Plymouth, who was a player I know a few on here fancied for us0 -
If Plymouth are losing both Tolaj and Pepple I'd be very surprised if they weren't interested in DK. Ironically the NTT20 piece had his celling as going to Plymouth.0

And then concede 2 goals in the last 5 minutes just like England but at least we'll be able to sing,CAFCTrev said:Hopefully Jones can build a squad capable of taking a 1-0 lead, then immediately setting up camp on the edge of their own six-yard box for the remainder of the game, whether there are 5 minutes left or 85.

Hey, if its good enough for Thomas Tuchel...1

Noticed the womens side have announced a bunch of new contracts over the last 24 hours and got me thinking, I wonder what happened to the player it was indicated was imminently signing a new deal before we went away on training camp? Even if it's not a new signing, some kind of positive news would be welcome1

You mean against the world champions who possess the best player in the world? Maybe Sillav the jokes on you!0 -
A good player, but that's a crazy fee for a player who's never done it yet above L1 level.MartinCAFC said:

That’s the market these days though. We paid £3.5m for Kelman, Tolaj is a better all round striker than Kelman is so he’s going to cost a little bit more than that figurekillerandflash said:

I got speaking to an Orient fan a couple of days ago.
He said Ballard was a massive upgrade on Kelman. He'd heard they received a bid of £5m for him and in rejecting it told the club they want £10m. Crazy money.
Agreed that their team was set up purely to accommodate Kelman. Had some biased views about the play off final, but that's another story. Truth told, a vile individual.33 -
I (didn't) hear the plan for next season is to get a surprise win away at Wolves, do the double over Millwall, and draw every other game 0-0.
Get 52 points.
Stay up.1 -

Last season 31 days from the opening game of the season we had only made 4 signings, this season we have made 2 and this year we already had a far more inflated squad than last season it’s not panic stations just yetmsomerton said:

All I see is people being concerned about the lack of activity. That isn’t bedwetting. I too thought we’d have seen more movement thus far and it’s disappointing because we have a number of areas in which we have to significantly improve in the team. However, I’m not panicking yet and realise it’s a difficult market at the moment. I also don’t get the ‘well team x, y & z haven’t brought anyone in yet’. Who cares? I don’t give a stuff who Derby, Preston, Sheffield Utd etc do or don’t bring in. All I’m concerned with is us.I'm guessing that other clubs have made a similar amount of signings. The World Cup is probably a good reason for delays for many, I'd not be surprised to see a few players move to clubs that have been out in the States.1 -

If the Doc rumours have some truth in them, it’s not the worst thing for me. He’s been amazing over the time he’s been here when you take into account what we’ve achieved, and the part he’s played in it, but I think most people may say he’s not what we need to kick on, particularly if he’s starting regularly. I get there may be no truth to them and his agent pushing for a deal, but if he were to go, I imagine it’s a decent amount of wages freed up compared to others in our squad, and could help us compete for someone better
I personally see value in him being a squad player, but if we lost him and brought in better, I wouldn’t be too upset10 -
We just need a 39 year old ......Messi, perhaps?NabySarr said:I still don’t think we are likely to see a “creative” midfielder. What we will hopefully see is a midfielder that is much better with the ball than Coventry and Docherty are, so then our wing backs, attacking midfielder and strikers get the ball in good areas more often to do the creating and scoring

The World Cups over for England and many predicted we’d see a lot of movement for us, has anyone seen any movement, other than Tuchal hiding in the laundry basket ?3

I don’t think we are going to be good enough next season to not need Greg Docherty unfortunately. And that’s just on the pitch, as he clearly has a big impact off it toocabbles said:If the Doc rumours have some truth in them, it’s not the worst thing for me. Agreed. I'd rather lose Coventry than Doc because of that.NabySarr said:

Superb when at Aldershot, has risen to every level he's played.mart77 said:Bristol City signing Tolaj from Plymouth, who was a player I know a few on here fancied for us
Related note I watched Shots beat Pompey yesterday - Pompey were awful, so I predict we will at least finish above them.1 -
Hopefully we won't be gifting them 6 points this seasonThomasOliver3 said:
