Wrexham will be willing to pick up the majority of his wages, otherwise they will end up paying them all as he won’t sign for anyone unless they do thatAberystwythAddick said:
Got to be his wages, no way we spend that on himFortune 82nd Minute said:
Really? I'd welcome it but never thought it was a possibility because he has a young family that he wouldn't want to be away from.stjohnshill said:Conor Coady is keen to return. However, a return is very unlikely to happen as things stand
Why is the move unlikely to happen as things stand?0 -
Mind you, a couple of seasons ago there was Bishop who spent the whole pre-season and played all the friendlies - but wasn't signedPringlesCurtains said:
Pretty confident of you, for a player that's travelled to Slovenia and played in the three friendlies so far. I'd say we're seriously considering him. So he will stay in the conversation until he gets another club or signed by us...John_Fitzpatrick1 said:Charlton43 said:Think we’ll end up signing Redmond on a year contract
Not a chance. If we do end up signing him which is a big if. It will be a short term deal, like the washed up Hernandez last season.Wish we would move on from Redmond, can’t see us going for him whatsoever.

Yes, but it would be difficult to put your hands on so many typewriters these days. There are only so many antique shops.Laddick01 said:

Not hurting us isn't the same as helping us improve. We have to improve dramatically down the middle. I'm hopeful that we're looking to do that.Bod said:
It certainly doesn't hurt to have Coady in our lineup at all. He didn't put a foot wrong throughout his spell with us.Chunes said:
I think we all agree that we have to improve on our midfield from last season. But having Coady & Coventry as our two choices for DM isn't any improvement.Bod said:Conor Coady would be great to have back, calm and steady, good around the dressing room. If it suits all parties it makes sense.5 -

I think we need to look beyond Coady as an answer , I don't mind Coventry but I feel like we need some size and physicality in the middle of the park , someone that'll do the dirty work and free whoever replaces Doc to get on the ball and get us going forward.Chunes said:

Id have coady definitely.Liverpool had and coming prospect, defensive midfielder, who has been on loan in la liga 2, stefan bajcetic. Surprised he was there and not in a top league. No rumour though 😂🫣2

Totally agree.0

I don't object to having someone as a "pure" defensive midfielder playing the role that Coady did, but ideally it wouldn't be Coady himself - at his age the law of diminishing returns is going to start taking a toll sooner rather than later.ShootersHillGuru said:Personally I don’t see any problem having Coady sitting as a defensive midfielder when we’re away from home and under the cosh. At home for that matter.
If he was to come back as an Andy Hughes type "player coach" who provides leadership and experience with limited actual playing time I would not overly object but I wonder if we have the space in the squad (or the budget) to allow for that.3 -

Two years injured you say? He'll be signed by the end of the week.fenaddick said:
He’s been injured for about 2 years which hasn’t helped him2121 said:Id have coady definitely.Liverpool had and coming prospect, defensive midfielder, who has been on loan in la liga 2, stefan bajcetic. Surprised he was there and not in a top league. No rumour though 😂🫣
And in the physio room a week later.4 -
I didn’t want Coady last time and he proved me wrong. Let him do it again if the deal is right.2

I hope we aren't just going round all the clubs buying all the broken lawnmower engines.10

That’s too well written for Ronnie, it’s been copied and pasted from somewhereCafcSteve said:
Absolute Rubbish!RonnieMoore said:Spoke to an ex employee of the club last week who still has very good contacts within the club hence the reason I not posted till now ..cause I think one of our targets he was telling me about has signed for Swansea ( 6 mill been quoted ) .. New Zealand international who played for Motherwell he said he would have broken our transfer record , but he did say that NJ requested bigger wage structure which the owners have agreed , that should see a former player return now we know it’s Grant and most likey our first 25k plus a week player. NJ very happy at the club and on the recent tour one of the owners turned up and spoke to the players about the season ahead. He believes Apter will stay and Jones and Ramsey contracts are not a problem .. only bids received are for Kanu.1 -
I think our man ‘in the know’ was saying Coady was very unlikely to happen. Sounded like wishful thinking from Coady.Oh Eddie Youds... said:What a ruthless summer it would be if both Dykes & Coady returned!
Epic stuff from NJ & PC if that happened.0 -
No, but he is better than Coventry in the defensive mid position. That is one reason why we stayed uparny23394 said:
He spoke about specific traits he wants to add to the midfield - Coady possesses none of themwmcf123 said:
I’m sure he’d like to add prime Parker and Jensen into the midfield , maybe with Kinsella and Graham Stuart off the bench.arny23394 said:Hilarious if we end up signing Coady after what Jones has said he wants to add to the midfield.2 -
Coady was decent but would hope we're looking for a longer term solution4

Probably the right move but gutting nonetheless. Given how highly NJ has spoken of Karoy that definitely fits the “ruthless” tag27
-
The right move despite how highly NJ speaks of him. Always gave 100% but the technical side of his game hasn't really developed. Hopefully we've got a good sellon built in.
Good luck Karoy.7 -

Maybe a midfielder is close?5
-
If we are to progress , yeah he has to go. But he’s a hard worker, by all accounts a good trainer and I feel like he cared about the club. Good luck Karoy17
-
Can’t keep them all, hopefully he’s off to play under Johnnie Jackson (not a rumour)1
-
Not alone in not being technically good enough in that midfield . I’m not averse to him going if we’re bringing in better but I think he’ll have a career. Could be lapslie level, could be better .MarcusH26 said:The right move despite how highly NJ speaks of him. Always gave 100% but the technical side of his game hasn't really developed.
