Has there been some confusion and it's a player signing for the women's team? 16 -
Orient selling Ballard for £5m. Hopefully a potential Kanu destination as I’d imagine they will want to spend some of that on a replacement
Given what they’ve done with Kelman and Ballard I think it would be a great move for us if we put a sell on in the deal11 -

So Bristol have looked at Dykes and Adebayo, and signed Tolaj and Ballard.
Seems they've decided the risk of a player not stepping up from League 1 is outweighed by them continuing that form and being a more saleable asset as well as firing them up the league.
When another club does it it's good business, when we do it it's because we're skint or no-one wants to sign for us.7 -
Waiting for the signing abroad when you have the day off.

Interesting that Carter says we’re increasing spend on players to meet our ambitions9

Not sure on those details. Do not believe the player is Dykes, Kamara, Chalobah or Holsgrove. Will post more if and when I get itPeaksAndValleys said:
I don't want to seem ungrateful but I can have an exact time please. Or just a ball park? Can't face another full day of refreshing twitter.stjohnshill said:How about a new signing to lift the mood……hearing another is pretty close
Am I safe if I start at 1.30pm? Cheeky half day of refreshing?
I would like to say that is good news, although given the overnight news it will be interesting on who comes in, and who goes out.

Looking at his career details I hope we can bring in somebody with better credentials.

Jones has said this multiple times as well, unprompted, and we know he is not the sort of character to tow the party line.follett said:Interesting that Carter says we’re increasing spend on players to meet our ambitions
Let see if the last couple of signings show this or not though.

Berkshire1970 said:Just seen a post from a Charlton fan stating if it’s true we have kept our powder dry to buy two influential players the timing of this has been a disaster. Agents will be wary and player’s alike. So, if it’s untrue the club is up for sale for the benefit of recruitment why don’t the club make a statement clearly outlining the club isn’t up for sale? The club giving out a statement will probably be a load more bull**** so why the interest in them putting anything out? Particularly if they deny they are looking to sell.As I mentioned yesterday, it will only be politician speak.2

What about Emil Riis at Bristol City if we're looking for a Championship-experienced 9?
Looks like he'll play back-up to Tolaj now.4 -
Whilst ‘transfer fees’ are relatively similar to last year, player wages & sign on fees could be higher… which would match what GC has stated above.follett said:Interesting that Carter says we’re increasing spend on players to meet our ambitions
a great read ‘Soccernomics’, details how that it is proven that whilst transfer fees typically get you good players- it is higher player wages/wage structures/signing fees that are proven to produce better results2 -
Rather have Dykes back, Riis is absolutely crap serious stat padderValley11 said:What about Emil Riis at Bristol City if we're looking for a Championship-experienced 9?

As much as it would make sense Orient’s record transfer fee is 250k, would they be willing to go 4x over that for Kanu.NabySarr said:Orient selling Ballard for £5m. Hopefully a potential Kanu destination as I’d imagine they will want to spend some of that on a replacement
Given what they’ve done with Kelman and Ballard I think it would be a great move for us if we put a sell on in the dealBarnsley have reportedly made a significant bid for a No.9 with no name included. Only a few decent strikers up for grabs left for L1 clubs so could be Kanu0 -

If no one is coming in at £1m then we might have to lower our demands. We’re not in a great spot really as it’s quite obvious we want to sellCrispywood said:

As with any sale of a youngster, the most important bit is the sell on reallyNabySarr said:

Great to see this kind of communication from Gavin to put our minds at ease. Sounds promising him saying we’re increasing spend on players to back that. Hopefully a few signings this week to back that up even further!
Nowhere does he say that the story is false, or even inaccurate. In fact Gavin doesn't really address the article at all.
Just more blurb about 5 year plan etc etc.15
