I know I bang on non stop about him but JRS is so obviously the best fit for us here.
JRS of three years ago, maybe. He is not so hot these days. Of course, he might well rediscover his form back with us, but can we afford to wait? A good start is essential, same as last season.

Once we have players in the club can give those fringe players the unkind option of "move somewhere else or we just won't register you in the squad".

Careful Henry. You are in danger of someone calling you "a charmer".

Id rather play Doris the tea lady at RB in a back four than JRC, likely more mobile than Joe

Doris is rubbish in the League but is sublime in the Cup.

When I said release Burke, I meant try and shift him on, even if that means a loan where we cover a large percentage of his wages, as we’ve done with Ahadme.

In my opinion, we have enough cover at CB, and I’d rather not waste a slot in the 25-man squad on someone who is unlikely to play much and, when he does, will probably pick up another injury.

It’s probably a moot point anyway, as I’m not convinced we’ll bring in Ouma, Holsgrove and a RW.

So you genuinely think Burke adds the same value to this squad as Ahadme?

In a 4 back Burke will be our 4th best/natural option behind Jones Koumetio and Sichenje.

Koumetio can’t stay fit, Sichenje we have no proof can stay fit, we may need to even throw Sichenje at RB if it comes down to it, Burke will be needed at some point.

Yes he is horribly injury prone but that doesn’t make him a bad option when he is there.

    I never said that.

If you read what I actually wrote, my opinion (we’re all entitled to one!) is that we have enough cover at CB. I see Bell as the first option to cover Billy, and Collins as the first option to cover Jones, with others able to step in if needed. And, if one of them was out for a prolonged period, you could always bring in cover in January.

So, all I’m saying (before people misinterpret what I’m trying to say again) is that I would sacrifice a CB before losing two midfielders, and as I said above, it’s probably a moot point anyway, because I’m not convinced we’ll bring in Ouma, Holsgrove and a RW.

It’s just an opinion - so relax!

Post an opinion on a discussion forum and it's going to get discussed. That's sort of the point of the forum..

Think that game clearly highlighted where we’re still lacking.

Chalobah miles better than Coventry need someone else on his kind of level to partner him. Looked like we didn’t play with a RW annoyingly Grant and TC just so much better off the left and if we can find a team to take Kaminski so we can sign a new no.1 would be a miracle
    I thought Coventry was outstanding...
I agree. I don't understand all the negative comments about Coventry. He was very good on Saturday.

Why McNamara looked good on Saturday
What happens if/when he gets injured?
One of Sichenje, Asiimwe or even Mesik fills in.
What if Ramsay, McNamara, Sichenje, Asiimwe and even Mesik are all injured?
Phoenix Valentine, a good prospect and an even better name.

I think Phoenix Valentine will rise and be spotted in February.

Wouldn't Ethan Brown be the most likely academy fullback to step up in a massive crisis?

I think it is telling that NJ has played Uncle Tom Cobbley and all in the PSF, yet JRC has barely appeared at all. That shows what confidence NJ has in him. Not even prepared to give him a try. Now the friendlies are over, what opportunity will JRC have to show what he has got?

We can’t sign a player because someone is out for a few weeks.
Especially when we have McNamara and Sichenje in reserve.

It was never very loud on Redmond was it? He was a body about the place but any vague chance of a contract probably ended with his injury.

Just confirming that two separate ITK contenders have talked about our man Ouma, yeah? If so... get ready for some jambos everyone, and let's get our ugali on the stove
Hold on! According to the mate who's a Lec Poznan fan, he's rubbish and always turns up to training late. We're skint again!  ;)
Im only passing on what I have been told by my friend who watched them week in week out last season. I want him to be a world beater just as much as every other Charlton fan. Hence why I said I’m willing to judge him on performances in a Charlton shirt.

If NJ wants to revert to 5 at the back, we're one CB short if you get rid of Burke...

I liked it when we were linked with this guy...was fun while it lasted...seemed like half the Championship had a Japanese or Korean playing for them last season (still haunted by Portsmouth away!)

Very sensible. Wonder if it's an option or an obligation if certain criteria are met.
