Going 1-0 up and sitting back against a team that has only scored 11 goals until today is inexcusable.

Mannion should have done better of course but why are taking on more pressure instead of increasing momentum.

    Pathetic

Even if we stay up I think its time for Jones to go.

Do we really want to be watching this rubbish again next season ?  A team that has no creativity & very little goal threat. Only 5 times this season have we scored more than once in a game. Atrocious.

Only good thing to come out of today was that Oxford lost & Bromley got promoted.
Couldn’t care less about Bromley, pleased Oxford lost to benefit Charlton.
  • Gonna keep drumming it till it happens (wishful thinking) JONES OUT!
Thank f**k some of you dont make the decisions then

Contender for the worst performance of the season.  That was our opportunity to secure safety against the worst side in the history of the league. I know they’re no pushovers but my god we made them look better than what they are.

You know you’re in trouble when a team of players who haven’t been paid on time for most of the season show more fight and skill than us.

I don’t want to be too negative but we could easily lose the next two games and take this to the final day.

can't say I'm surprised by the result. You have to wear rose tinted specs and have the memory of a goldfish to think this team with these tactics are going to play positively.
Sheff weds could have had 2 pens on another day, Burke challenge , Doc on the edge of penalty area 2nd half and LJ -strikes his own  hand in "unnatural position" so 2.5 pens. Possibly an unfair challenge on Mannion. So a draw is fair result. But I'd rather watch their football than ours. They just need a striker or 2.
1904 olympics marathon was won by American who was carried over the line by his trainers. We may just do it but only if Godden can drag us across the line.

Big fan of Mannion but not going to try and defend him tonight. Awful mistake.

But it's not just on him. After we scored and Carey hit the post we just sat back and made Wednesday look like a team challenging for promotion. Their goal was always coming. Why, oh why, do we always sit back and concede an inevitable equaliser week after week?

Because NJ is more concerned with defence than attack.

That was absolutely rancid. We have been effing dreadful pretty much the entire season.

The results in this second half of this season that have us almost at (but staggering in drunken stasis towards) the line were gifts; that Sheffield united burglary remains one of the most obscenely fortunate results I’ve ever seen - the sending off against Leicester… profligate Boro with a record number of chances in championship history but unable to get past us… the Leicester points deduction…

    Ergh

and now we’re inevitably going to be forced to cheer on and indeed celebrate the scum probably getting promoted on the last day because the consequence of them not doing so would be relegating us. A vile thought
You're ruling out them rolling over for Oxford on the final day then?
As we lose to Swansea and swap places...
absolutely not no. Could very much happen. I’m just saying there’s a high chance we are going to have to cheer them on regardless of the result and it all just effing stinks

there is no excuse for being in this position given the run of games we had and where we sat post Boro

I think the most likely scenario is Oxford get 4 points top and Leicester don't win three on the bounce. Then a team of lifers would keep is up but it will be by the skin of our teeth. Need to make some decent signings in the summer.

One thing I'll say for Jones, where he's been at the same club for consecutive seasons the team has always improved year on year.

I wouldn't get rid of him right now as we are 2 years away from worrying about relegation to league two, now he has us nearly safe in the championship. How many years has it been since we've had consecutive years in the championship?

That doesn't take away from the fact that that was a turgid performance but it should have been one we could see out if it wasn't for another Mannion clanger. We retreated inside ourselves after that, and the subs didn't help, but the players have to take some responsibility for that.

If only the likes of Edwards and Godden had been fit all year I think we'd be comfortably safe.

Well I predicted this game as one the 3 draws we would have this month, never thought we could best them.

I thought that Dykes and Godden had good games for us. As usual it was the support that was lacking.

Leaburn couldn't win anything useful in the air, and I'm afraid that TC lost me today. I've been sympathetic to him, as he is came through the ranks and occasionally causes problems. At about 85 minutes or so Rankin-costello was running around like a madman to chase down 2 or 3 defenders and their keeper knocking it about. Rc emplored TC and another (?) to help him out, and they just stood like shop dummies.

To end on a good note, I honestly believe that Sichenje will become a legend for us. He has the desire to make a difference, and I think that he probably has the talent at this level.

Does anyone actually genuinely enjoy watching us play currently?

This is the biggest issue going into next season, even if we do stay up. It's a style of play issue.
I don’t like watching it, and can’t wait for the end of the season.

But I also think it’s the exact right way to set up and try and play with the resources we currently have.

If Oxford beat Wrexham on Tuesday night you wouldn't bet against them to beat Sheff Wed next sat. If that is the case we need to get something from our next 2 homes games.

Really don't want to go to Swansea (who have the league's top goalscorer) and try to get something there.

After watching that I really do think we could go down. Can’t see us getting another point and fancy Oxford to make up 6 points on us

Gut feeling says it's going to go to the final day. We need to find some bollocks from somewhere, as all the teams around us are fighting.

We are nowhere near safe yet, WBA and Blackburn will probably overtake by next week.

Doc is not a starter.  I don’t buy the JRC’s game doesn’t fit our style BS.  Play your better players.

I understand neither Godden or Kelman are big center forwards but they are the only two who can score in this side. Why not play them together.  I understand our style is lump the ball forward currently but it is not working with either Dykes or Leaburn.  We can’t get any worse in the attack.

Mannion who is allegedly good at commanding the box now has two mental errors doing that which has cost us points.

Feels far too much like 19/20.

Anybody got the league table from back then after 43 games?

When Charlton dropped out of the Premier League, it was Spurs who dealt the final blow by beating Charlton at the Valley, confirming relegation.

So, in many ways it's nice that both Charlton and Tottenham pretty much confirm their place in the Championship on the same day.

Our midfield is so abhorrent that I find myself pining for the days of Pratley & Watson.
