  • I maintain that the 0-0 draw against Hull in the 2012/13 season is the most dull game of football I have ever seen in my life. The only highlight was Danny Hollands doing a slide tackle in the rain that made him slide for ages. That was it. I'd love a game like that again
Don't think it's going to rain mate?
  • Hull have thrown away more leads than us this season. It's crucial that the players heads don't drop like previous games and the crowd do everything it can to lift the players if we go behind.

    ...............................TK
    .............Ramsay Jones Chambers
    Clarke Carey Coady Docherty Fevrier
    ...................Kelman Dykes

Bench: Mannion Schijene Gillesphey Coventry JRC Knibbs TC Godden Leaburn

I don't think we risk any of the injured players from the start (I don't think we'll see Bell). But I do wonder if Chambers is moved to a LCB birth which allows Fev to come in at LWB where he finished the game on Wednesday. It's just a thought, and it's a tough call given the quick turnaround. That's a strong bench though, so if Jones needs to change it hopefully he'll have a lot of options.

Kelman and Dykes isn't exactly my dream pairing, but again, if Godden and TC are managing pain, I don't think you want to try to get them through even 60 minutes, I think you're better off bringing them on and hoping adrenaline gets them over the line for 30 minutes.

I really don't know anymore. I think we've played better and worse than some of our results recently. Thought we were alright on Wednesday night, just a moment of madness and losing three players to injury during the game undid us. I will be watching from behind my sofa. If you can, please go. And be loud as fuck.

    COME ON YOU REDS!

Sadly, it looks like we will rely on the scum to beat Oxford in the final game.

    Or draw with them.

Funny you should put this goal up.

Four of the old train travellers ,Man in black ,Guy,Norman and myself got tickets to see Hales being handed trophy my Colin Powell up at LWT on South Bank.
Very entertaining it was to .Hales didn’t know Paddy was in studio as he was sitting with the four of us , then made his way onto the set.

Do wish we had those players tomorrow against Hull.

True, but I don’t trust the scum.

Long early journey for this one, very committed joke from me for not actually being a real Charlton fan

Stopping off in Leicester on the way adds an hour to the journey

Just heard that West Brom have been deducted 2 points so that's some pre-match good news.
    Not really
    6 points would've been

Yea 6 points would have been great but I think the results of the 3 games this weekend could make the deduction more significant.

I’d have gone 4-2-3-1 a while ago given our vulnerability and lack of width.  Assuming Ramsay is fit I’d use him, otherwise Coady in there with Coventry in at DM

                  ? One of them ?
    Clarke  Ramsay Jones  Chambers
              Coady      Docherty
    Fevrier        Carey         TC
                     Kelman

Strangely expectant of an amazing result - no basis in logic other than hope Hull’s poor recent form continues. COYA
That logic did not help us against Wednesday, Bristol or Preston. Hope you are right though.

If NJ sets out not to lose tomorrow, we will lose.

With both WBA and us on 50 points needing one point, we will all accept WBA will get their point and not sure we will, why?

Fairly obvious looking at recent results

On the positive side Hull have not beaten us at the Valley since 1985 and I was there for that one. Hoping we can somehow keep a clean sheet but their attack looked good v Leicester from what I saw. I think it is going to the wire, Hull to win 2-0 leaving behind a very shell shocked Valley.

Yeah but that loss was at Selhurst Park I think?
  • We need all the players giving 100% for a chance of a point . I really hope JRC is nowhere need the squad , as he does not contribute anything to the team - like playing with 10 men . I would have preferred Anderson staying and JRC going on loan .

WBA will have to get beaten 5-0 by Ipswich to make any difference

*No little old ladies were "hurt" during the making of this Match Preview... Doris is expected to make a full recovery

In the summer get you to Southwold and have a Zimmer frame practice session on the pier.

Sod the game,  I want information about the 5 trains you will be taking
    Proper Charlton.

    Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street,
Bham new street to Birmingham Moor Street (walk)
    Moor Street to London Marylebone,
    Marylebone to London Bridge
    London Bridge to Charlton,
    Walk to church.

It could be done quicker, but this way is like half the price, and Leicesters latest merch ain't cheap mate.

Yep. Last loss at The Valley against Hull was 1978.

We have a decent home record against Hull with us being undefeated in our last 6 games.

Charlton are unbeaten in their last six home league meetings with Hull City (D3 L3) since a 1-2 reverse in November 1985.

I don't get why previous seasons results have any reflection on current teams results .... Doubt any players from either side were present then.  We all read the BBC so just leave it there.

    Will settle for a point.
