West Ham score against the run of play and now they are playing with more freedom.0 -
Bowen stepping up for a pen today0

Sends the keeper the wrong way, makes the Castellanos moment look even sillier2

This league literally is a muddle. Everyone and anyone can get a result...... think it will be harder than ever to predict our results this year.2

Mavropanos, cor I reckon Gillesphey would outstrip him for pace3
-
The funny thing is that people were raving about him in the prem last season. He's really found the championship a shock to the system.sam3110 said:Mavropanos, cor I reckon Gillesphey would outstrip him for pace0 -

West Ham & Wolves really don’t look like title challengers at present. Neither side can defend for toffee1

Decided to watch Preston V Bristol City for a while and Harry Clarke gets into the area and on the edge of the six yard box misses his header with the goal gaping.
Wiley on loan from Chelsea scored with a powerful shot to make it 1-1.0 -

Good to see the likes of Pompey struggling against Derby who have been poor this season - Won't get too carried away with our start, and still want to keep an eye on the teams you'd expect to see us fighting come the end of the season.2

Wolves looking all at sea at the back.0

Terrible defending from Preston for the third; Heckingbottom must be on borrowed time now?0

Lindsay and Clarke got in a pickle and the sub Ballard scores to make it 1-3 for Bristol City.
Preston heading for 4 straight defeats.
Thierry Small only getting on in the 89th minute !0 -
For sure. Harry Clarke and the other preston defender got in a right pickle, both left the ball for each other only for Ballard to run between them, nick the ball and score.ForeverAddickted said:Terrible defending from Preston for the third; Heckingbottom must be on borrowed time now?0 -
Are you both run by the same LLM?1
-
I watched the last thirty minutes of Lincoln v Blackburn. They are both awful.0
-
There’s not many more enjoyable things in football right now as watching Stansfield missing multiple opportunities to score for Birmingham. Delightful stuff.3
-
Maybe just because it’s the start of the season and sides need time to settle etc. but the level of defending so far in most championship games is dreadful. Every time I watch all the game highlights, at least half the goals are from embarrassing/poor defending.2
-
I think Preston will sink even faster without Heckingbottom. He's a miserable bastard but a very good manager.ForeverAddickted said:Terrible defending from Preston for the third; Heckingbottom must be on borrowed time now?0 -

I hadn’t realised how far Ramsdale had dropped down. Only 28 and now 4th choice in Championship!
Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert says Aaron Ramsdale still has a role at the club to "support the team" despite becoming their fourth-choice goalkeeper.
The 28-year-old moved from Arsenal to Saints in the summer of 2024 having been number two to Spaniard David Raya.

This is all to do with the politics of Football when a big earner loses his place and in many cases, they even train with the U21 to encourage the player and agent to look for pastures new.
Just checked and Ramsdale is on 120k a week and he was playing for the U21'S.
If no Premier team want him then he will need to be wanted in Saudi Arabia to get close to his Saint's wage.
You can see why he didn't move on in the window unless he was going to take a massive drop in wonga.
Also Aaron's contract at the Sinners doesn't run out until June 2028.
Is football a crazy business; it sure is !

I think part of the new player welfare regulations are that you can’t do this anymore, along with bomb squads. If he’s training with the U21s I’m pretty sure that’s his choicesoapboxsam said:stoneroses19 said:I hadn’t realised how far Ramsdale had dropped down. Think we’re just so used to having such a good defence over the last 3 years we aren’t used to conceding many of these goals anymore. Still don’t get why so many championship clubs are adamant of playing out from the backstoneroses19 said:Maybe just because it’s the start of the season and sides need time to settle etc. but the level of defending so far in most championship games is dreadful. Yes, it was his choice but Southampton definitely want him to move on for the obvious reason that they are paying a reserve championship keeper a Premier keeper wage (most of the keepers may well earn more than this now)
At Chelsea the Bomb squad used to train at a different time but now they train at the same time on a pitch near the 1st team squad.
There had been a clear out with more leaving than coming in at Cobham.

It’s because most teams have basically given up on playing forwards to kick the ball towards, or if they do it just one token, often static chap, miles from any other player in the same coloured shirt, that’s in the pocket of the opposing defence from the kick off. Leaburn, TC and Grant must starting to be a fucking nightmare for opposition managers this season.0 -
Not the Championship, but amusing to see Oxford 3-0 up at Russell Martin's Leicester City.

4-0 now.
And at home 😬1
