West Ham or Tottenham Hotspur

The last relegation place from the Premiership could still be anyone of Leeds, Crystal Palace, Notts Forest, West Ham or Spurs.

However, in all probability it will be either West Ham or Spurs who finally get relegated.

Should this happen, and as both West Ham and Spurs are London teams, who would you prefer to join us in the Championship next year?

Personally, I hope that West Ham get relegated.

From what I hear, if West Ham get relegated times will be tough. The parachute money will not cover their outgoings. Their wage bill is enormous and they will be stuck with a number of fairly average players all earning £75K - £85K per week.

I would prefer Spurs as they are a bigger team & a Premier League perennial. However, I think they have the players to stay up (although I said that about Leicester a few months ago 😄) and, as you say, West Ham would have more problems re debt etc.

Either or, really. I have no love, or particular hate, for either of them.

Spurs getting relegated will be the maximum short term comedy value, however, as tough of a reality check as the Championship can be for some relegated clubs, I would be amazed if they didn't, ultimately, bounce straight back up.

West Ham, I think, have a greater potential to get bogged down by the financial weight of relegation and get stuck for a few seasons - there's a chance for more long-term LOLs if they come down.

I think, overall, Spurs getting relegated as soon as they finally "rid" themselves of Daniel Levy would be the most entertaining.

    This.

was kinda hoping West Ham would go down rather than Forest, but that was before Spurs imploded from start of the year.

It looks like The Cockerill will continue to roost in the prem and the Hammers will suffer a blow and be relegated, but let’s see
Shame as my preference would be an away day at White Hart Lane which is a mightily impressive stadium, by far the best in UK whereas London Stadium ain’t much cope wonderful as an athletics stadium during the Olympics but doesn’t work as a football ground !

    Precisely
  • Wet spam cos of the stadium debacle.  Used to like them but they deserted their roots for a phoney football ground which they don't pay for and in doing so showed no respect for their fans.

I would prefer Spurs because it would be hilarious, but they'll bounce straight back up.

West Ham are in real danger of doing a Leicester, a Luton, a Sunderland, a Wolves, a Swindon and suffering double relegation, so long term that would be better, the more they suffer the better.

West Ham will drop they won’t get anything out of Arsenal and Spurs look like picking up points again

30 mins on the rattler for me if I can get a ticket 👍

Would be the funniest thing ever if they both won all their games and Palace dropped, wishful thinking

Spurs would be alot funnier but suspect it'll be West Ham and they could struggle a bit.....

Got a sneaky feeling it's not done and dusted yet and I fancy West Ham to nick something from their home game against Arsenal this weekend.

Tottenham for me all day long.
Goes back to cup final in 1967 when Tottenham beat Chelsea in Londons first ever cup final.
So Many Tottenham fans around now , just how Many in The Championship when times get tough and no money coming in.

Come on West Ham put Tottenham down by picking up the points required to stay up.

Spurs, as it would be wonderful karma for a superleague club to end up in the Championship.

But West Ham would be a very nice consolation prize.

West Ham being relegated is not funny, considering how much it'll cost the tax payers of London...

Is it a new ground though ? Obviously it's a new stadium but it's still in White Hart Lane. They haven't moved anywhere just rebuilt their stadium.

If you built an extension onto your house & put in a loft conversion would you say you've got a new house????

This. I don't really care. My best mate has a Spurs ST so for him I would want to stay up but their fans are insufferable smug and entitled so I would quite enjoy seeing them go down. On the other hand West Ham are all " We won the World Cup in 66", and that Stadium. So Whi cares they both deserve it.

This could be the only time to catch Spurs, whereas if West Ham don't go this season they could next.

Would you say Wembley is not a new ground then?
