That was dreadful to watch. No attacking ideas and most of our possession passing the ball around at the back. So boring again. Fans will drift off if the football does not improve.

The forwards continue to be starved of any sign of service. Just a massive lack of flair, skill and quality throughout. Wimbledon looked like the Championship side.

Even for a friendly, this was shocking and screams out for some additions who can take control of the game and create something.

Jones needs to sort this out sharpish otherwise it will be another season of boring football and a another struggle to survive.

Carey's corners were okay. Otherwise it was same old, long ball, lightweight midfield, possible GK error, etc etc. Wimbledon were sharper in all regards.

For reference, Pompey are currently being thumped 3-0 by Wycombe and their fans are also having a meltdown. That’s despite them spending more than us

    Bedwetters of the world unite.

Might play a bit of the Smiths to cheer myself up, panic on the streets of London , and all that.

Koumetio and Mesik look decent enough. Hard to get excited about anything else.
This suggests our recruitment team are doing well though
Phil Chappell was a defender so knows a thing or two about those positions. Not sure he is the right man to be looking for midfielders.....and less said about his attacking prowess the better !

Not bed wetting yet, but that even for a friendly was piss poor, pardon the pun.

Hard to be too enthused after that performance. Yes its a friendly, no, the score doesnt really matter and we knew the midfield was and is the weak point before and after that "performance."

But even so it was really turgid and boring stuff. It would be nice to be able to say that we can see signs of what we are trying to do next season but unless we make several truly transformational signings that will be "exactly the same as last season", which was a real slog.

    And this is the problem.

Some of us get labelled bedwetters but the club have had 2 months to address THE problem we had last season.

And its not just the lack of midfield, it's the way we play. Passing it backwards & sideways with no real sense of a plan of attack. 2 weeks before the League Cup match & 3 weeks until the season opener and it doesn't look like we are any better than last season.

A couple of very pleasant beers pre-match in The Trafalgar and The Sultan and a nice walk along the River Wandle to the ground.

As to the game, I’m afraid we were second best all over the park and largely outclassed by a lively and sharp Wimbledon side, who knew how to pass and move and how to switch the play and make the pitch big.

They looked a very well coached side, so Jacko will be well pleased.

Has anyone got Fleming excuse for the game other than what Charlton OS put up, which I think is Facebook or one of them.
