Erk, Doc nearly gets caught in possession, but does well to evade the tackles and drive forward.

Grant looks like he’s just realised what kind of players he’s signed up for playing alongside

Jones has to come across to clear, the ball ends up going behind for another Reading corner.

None of our central midfielders actually want the ball, and when it drops to them they don’t know what to do with it or don’t have the quality.

Far post corner half cleared by Koumetio, then by Jones, ball back in headed away for another corner by Bell.

Still not able to get enough players in the box.  Two great balls in by TC and missing the only player in there.

It’s annoying Grant and TC look our best two players but it’s clear they need to be in the same position. Knibbs looking a new player as well

That was cleared, pings about a bit on the halfway line, Godden thinks he might be offside so doens't go for it

Does Ramsey  want to be out there, he has made a number of mistakes in passing back to the keeper, some when not under pressure.

Reading have a throw on our left, Doc blocks out for another corner.

Knibbs is looking very strong, perfect position for him in the middle of a 3 just behind the striker

    Bell having a mare

Coventry and the Doc … Frustrating pairing. League 1 standard at best

Headed away by Knibbs, they switch over to our left again, but the cross drifts out for a goal kick.

Grant gets dragged back just inside their half so we get a free kick

Even with more time on the ball they can't seem to affect the game.

From what I've seen so far Grant looks like he could prove to be an inspired signing.
Knibbs also looking to get involved.
Sort out the midfield and we won't be far off where we need to be.

Doc does well to keep the ball there, Grant cross into the box but deflected back to the Reading keeper.

Reading passing it about in midfield but get pushed back to their keeper.

Ooh, nice battle between Koumetio and Lisbie there. Kounetio gets pulled back so we have a free kick.

We're still waiting ourselves... Although its already kicked off unexpectedly between Fen and Ali.

It's good playing agasint a team who want possession. Yes they're a divison lower but it's the style of play we'll face most often. We look fairly organised

Ooh nice cut back from Grant to Bell and keeper does well to palm the ball away.

Finally Knibbs has become the midfielder to take it on the turn and drive forward

Started around 220. Was supposed to start at 2 but was delayed due to Reading being late. When it was moved to The Valley is was moved up to a 2pm kick off.

I’m liking the link up play between Knibbs and Grant. Some promising moves

Knibbs has done himself a lot of favours this pre season. Hope he can turn it into the league games.

We have three subs warming up so guessing we'll see three come off at HT. Bell, Grant and Doc maybe
