I am sure you will correct me if I am mistaken but Nathan Jones said last season we will be pushing on this coming season. Or words to that affect.fenaddick said:Second season is always the hardest. Anyone who wasn’t expecting a relegation battle was dreaming5 -
He's gotta say that really hasn't he, try to be positive, sure we will be ok...Lewis Coaches said:

Mannion made 2 horrible errors , which we can name . Kaminski made a lot more and inspired no confidence whatsoever . Neither good enough in my view but Mannion would be my vote to start the seasonAndyG said:I don’t get why Kaminski seems to be nailed on starter ? I far prefer Mannion myself. Kaminski terrifies me flapping at crosses all the time and tbh I really don’t think Mannion did much wrong. I think it’s more a case of being able to justify a high wage sitting on the bench if he doesn’t play10 -
You think a bird did that?SporadicAddick said:It's a preseason friendly - people are focussed on the wrong things.
1. Do the new dugouts look good?
2. Is my seat still caked in bird shit?
Priorities people, priorities.4 -
All keepers make errors mate especially at our level and I’m not saying he is the answer for years to come but I far prefer him to Kaminski. The flapping and indecision will be targeted I’m surewmcf123 said:

Mannion made two absolutely horrible errors in his 9 games, one of which was three errors in one move, and the other a flappy handling error where he dropped a simple catch and cost us a win. Those mistakes came in a 4 game spell and you could see him getting jittery to the point I wasn't that surprised by the Sheff Weds one. Kaminski is clearly a better keeper, it would just be nice for him to rediscover how to show that pretty sharpishAndyG said:I don’t get why Kaminski seems to be nailed on starter ? I think the back line would have more confidence playing in front of Mannion. They'd know they wouldn't have to get to 99% of crosses that come in. Feels like Kaminski is going through the motions at times too but fully expect him to start the season.3

Absolutely agree but that's why I always felt the change to 4231 was too big a risk. A year too early. Stay up this year by adding a couple of key bits of quality in the right places but playing the system the majority of the squad knows. Evolve next season - assuming the budget is there. To Tey and do it this season with neither the budget nor the time feels just a risk too far.fenaddick said:Second season is always the hardest. Hope I'm eating my hat come the end of the season.3 -

Perhaps we should put both of them in goal during the game, that might work.

Exactly this. Kaminski is shit, really expected better when he signed. I think if we had the funds then NJ would be looking for a new keeper.AndyG said:I don’t get why Kaminski seems to be nailed on starter ? I far prefer Mannion myself. Kaminski is basically all the things i hate in a keeper rolled into one. Shit on a cross, doesnt speak to defenders, fails to command his box, suspect positionally and against long shots.
Occasionally pulls of a good save/double save.
Mannion does a lot of the things above better than Kaminski, but also has had a greater than reasonable howler to game ratio.9 -
After watching the Reading game, I have not seen Mwamba before but read others opinions of him. I was disappointed with him. He kept trying to dribble pass players but lost it many times, instead of passing.
Was this his normal game or is he normally better than this. I hope I am wrong0 -
even for you that post takes the biscuit.RonnieMoore said:
No chance with the first , second was poor defending from our own corner the trailist should have done better to stop the cross and free header right into bottom corner again not keeper fault third was a fluke cross .. .. he just got flat footed ..Laddick01 said:Only watched the highlights.Kaminski is a fraud, but sadly I don’t think he’s a priority to ship out with our glaring CM/RM issues.
All 3 Reading goals could’ve been saved. Proper rank.4 -
I think Kaminski needs a pair of these.

Behind closed doors game I believe, no idea who it is against.

I didn't like to say.

It's my opinion that a good goalie would have saved all 3 of their efforts.
Kaminski didn't move for the first goal, but he stood motionless and watched the ball enter the net.
The 2nd was a header that he moved for far too late and looked reluctant to dive.
The 3rd, he once again stood motionless and watched the ball sail into the net.
He also did his best to let in an earlier goal, by his favourite move of palming out a weak effort in to the perfect finishing area for an opposition striker.
I'd like a better keeper than the 2 we have, but if it's a choice between the 2 then Mannion has to play.12 -
In terms of positives, I thought Leaburn did pretty well when he came on

I can see Kaminski and Mannion turning into a Gunter and Adam Matthews situation. One is crap, so the other comes in. But they're also crap, so the other comes back. But they're crap... So the other one...7

Was it a behind closed doors friendly ? And if so , why?0

They had no choice as it was arranged at such short notice.

At least we got to see a better side to Matthews in the championship. Gunter was a fraud.Chunes said:I can see Kaminski and Mannion turning into a Gunther and Adam Matthews situation. What did the glamour match v Bayern Munich fall through late on ?0
-
Kaminski should never have been beaten by a 25 yard FK at his near post. Didnt even dive.2
-
He was also at fault in the lead up to the goal by not coming to collect a simple airborne shot (in fact he half came to collect it and pulled back).Gisappointed said:Kaminski should never have been beaten by a 25 yard FK at his near post. Didnt even dive.He is not good enough for our team.5 -
Readings pitch wasn't ready so had to be switched last min.oohaahmortimer said:What did the glamour match v Bayern Munich fall through late on ?1 -
I think we will be ok -
I think we will beat Derby on the opening day -
It's going to be a more extreme season in terms of results.

Good for shaping. Jones back to action0
