The starting 11 when we had amdy faye and kishishev in the middle, i remember got roundly booed and told they werent fit to wear the shirt.

Mike "Flash" Flanagan when he first got into the side and played as a left winger. Other left wingers have "successfully" followed in his footsteps including the likes of Hugh McAuley, Jesper Blomqvist, Charlie Kirk, TC etc etc.

Problem with Bullivant was that he was very expensive by Charlton standards at the time

This thread is making us look like a bunch of miserable fans. I had to listen to guy behind me for years who hated Shaun Bartlett literally screaming his head off everytime he touched the ball "you can't hit a f**king barn door" was his favourite line.

Morts got abuse, mainly because he didnt dive into tackles. He stood his ground and inveriably came away with the ball. Black players get unfairly targeted. Does Doc work harder than TC? I'd like to see the stats.

I remember Kish's first game. Early on he advanced and lost the ball due to an incompetent teammate. He clearly expected the oppo to build from the back and keep possession, but they just lobbed the ball into the space he'd vacated. A quick learning curve.

He absolutely slaughtered us in CM for Brighton in his later years.

Worst stick I remember a player getting was Peter Shaw, who later on played very well in the Mike Bailey promotion season. The worst I saw a manager get was Les Reed at the Wycombe game, that really was vitriolic.

Jerome Thomas used to get stick from sections of the crowd, Kish, Lisbie- I used to sit in the North Lower & a bloke behind me was calling Lisbie a greedy bastard after his hat trick goal against Liverpool as he should have passed it!

Jonathan Johannson used to get a fair bit of abuse from some fans in the West stand but I quite liked him .

Remember a game at The Dell in the prem and a bloke nearby kept shouting 'get Lisbie on, get Lisbie on'. Eventually Curbs put Lisbie on and after the first time he touched the ball the bloke shouted 'get Lisbie off'.

A woman sat behind me shouting "COME ON FOXXXXXXYYYYY" in a high pitched voice continuously whenever he got the ball, so he probably deserved it

I don’t remember Kish getting abuse but he was a frustrating player at times. His ability didn’t match his footballing intelligence. He ended up being quite the fan favourite, especially after Curbs moved him into midfield.

Southend v Charlton, New Year's Eve

Morgan Fox on the ball... "You're useless Fox, get off the pitch!" (There were a few added words... I'll leave it to your imagination)

He plays a fairly simple ball, into the feet of our striker. The crowd goes into an expectant hush...

The striker fails to control it, the ball bounces 5 yards off him, where a Southend player takes possession. Baying of "You're sh- Fox! Call yourself a professional footballer!"

Southend winning 1-0, Charlton pressing. Morgan Fox picks up the ball about 25 yards out, hits a screamer, heading for the top corner... the keeper hurls himself across the goal, tipping the ball over the bar.

Silence from the Charlton fans, and I lost it. "What the f-ks wrong with you! Doesn't it count as a good shot because it was Morgan Fox!" A few embarrassed claps broke out after my rant...

Charlton equalise from the resulting corner...

That was the worst case of totally ridiculous crowd reaction to a player I've ever seen. Fox got the blame for other player's mistakes!

I was only 13 or 14 when we al booed Kim Grant at the Notts County game. I still regret it though. When we were celebrating the goals he was wandering back to the halfway line on his own. 

I cannot recall if it was Fox or Pope, but I do remember being outside Craven Cottage after a particularly bad performance from the entire team. Fox/Pope hugged his family and said "I just want to go home", it was a heartbreaking moment.

Used to still hear mutters of "Bloody Fox" from rows behind in the West Stand long after Fox had left, it had become so habitual

I recall Peter Shaw when he was breaking into the side got loads of abuse and being a young professional it had to affect his game. I suspect those that gave the abuse were a bit sad and enjoyed that they could have an effect. It is bullying really.

I also witnessed Charlon fans throwing bananas on the pitch and being overtly racist. It is a great achievement that the club has got rid of this bollocks.

Admittedly he wasn’t playing for us but the abuse that Carlton Cole got when he came back to The Valley with Villa was off the scale. Pelters from the 1st minute until he was substituted, visibly upset by it all.

Whilst I didn’t shout abuse against Kishishev, I moaned aloud about him. The number of times he lost the ball, the misplaced passes and then the headless chicken chases to get the ball back leaving gaps where he should have been. I remember Keith Peacock saying if we don’t know what he’s doing then nor do the opposition! Summed him up for me.

I maintain that Kish was a really poor right back. He went on to be a very intelligent modern midfielder but he was very frustrating to watch at RB from my perspective
