Timothy Ouma signs on a season long loan

It was a pile on. These are two different things. He had a bad game and a lot of people absolutely went for him and not because they were anticipating him failing to turn up for training. It was over the top.Croydon said:But but but it was all a pile onNow he has apparently shown himself to be a knob, so fair enough; fill your boots. Might be time for a new avatar.6 -
If he was semi brought in to help Sichenje acclimatise, he's out for the season anyway now too, so regardless of the AWOL bit unless he was outstanding I would have expected him to be sent back in Jan anyway0

Yohann Thuram only played 4 games and I think he comfortably goes down as the worse keeper in Charlton History. There’s bad games then there’s Ouma who in 186 mins of football has made 3 errors for goals arguably could have done better for a 4th and been overall awful.Uboat said:

I don't believe the guff about Ouma being one we'd been keeping tabs on for a while. It's pretty obvious that he was a panic signing and the only 'scouting' done on him was the YouTube video we all saw.13

If we sign Kurt Zouma in January, you just need to add a Z...closet_addick said:Wonder if the club is willing to give me a new shirt since I got one with OUMA 16 on the back...10 -
Given our financial constraints, I doubt that we can afford to sign players to provide companionship for others.sam3110 said:If he was semi brought in to help Sichenje acclimatise, he's out for the season anyway now too, so regardless of the AWOL bit unless he was outstanding I would have expected him to be sent back in Jan anyway12 -
He was a gamble and that hasn’t come off. I’d say mesik and (despite injuries) sichenje were also gambles and came off and they’ll both only get better.
sometimes they just don’t come off, spine of our team, especially our defence is still very solid. It’s just releasing docherty kind of compounds the mistake here slightly.4 -
On balance feels like most our signings were panic etc this year! 😂SantaClaus said:I don't believe the guff about Ouma being one we'd been keeping tabs on for a while. It's pretty obvious that he was a panic signing and the only 'scouting' done on him was the YouTube video we all saw.

Ouma Pouso - it's all in the name.4

I had completely forgotten where Ahadme was on loan this season but see he got an 82nd minute winner for Cambridge against 10-man Blackpool on Saturday.charltonbob said:
However much I'd like to let's not forget Ahadme :'(crookester said:
Potts, Campbell, Lua Lua and Hernandez were all short term punts and were suitably released at the earliest opportunity. Ouma was also a punt, hence why he was signed on loan with an option to buy. So that leaves Apter, Knibbs and Olaofe.AberystwythAddick said:

Agreed. What we wouldn't give for a Kayne Ramsay, a Lloyd Jones, a Josh Edwards, a Conor Coventry, a Billy Koumetio, a Sonny Carey. One day maybeAberystwythAddick said:
Other teams in limited budget have done it. Portsmouth, Cardiff, Oxford to an extent.fenaddick said:

The amount we've had in for polishing over the past 4 seasons makes the mind boggle! We don’t recruit well, for whatever reasons we fail to attract the right players to the club

You need to read the loan watch thread 😉robinofottershaw said:

Haha, to be fair Luton were linked with him when Chapple was there.SantaClaus said:I don't believe the guff about Ouma being one we'd been keeping tabs on for a while. It's pretty obvious that he was a panic signing and the only 'scouting' done on him was the YouTube video we all saw.

This really doesn't surprise me. Probably a pivot when other main targets didn't happen and he was someone Chapple had obviously known about.Scoham said:

Might have to dust off for a new missing poster.0

But that might imply we want him found…SELR_addicks said:Might have to dust off for a new missing poster.13 -
We surely don't have to pay him in these circumstances so might be a good thing.0

Doc was a limited footballer but gave everything he had, even playing on with a torn groin and helping us get over the line in the last couple of games in the previous season. To think he was released to be replaced by this character doesn't sit well with me.22

Yeah that’s a sore one. It’s a shame we can’t claim some sort of extenuating circumstances to bin Ouma off and get a squad place backAddicksi said:Doc was a limited footballer but gave everything he had, even playing on with a torn groin and helping us get over the line in the last couple of games in the previous season. Odd that no statement has been given. You can only assume he’s back training with the team and the club don’t want to draw attention to it1
-
Have we been feeding him well enough?1

Given that Jones does not take any s*** I'll be amazed if we see Ouma back at Sparrows Lane and we're in talks over sending him back.cabbles said:Odd that no statement has been given. You can only assume he’s back training with the team and the club don’t want to draw attention to it
THEN we'll see a feeble post on the site revealing nothing.3 -
Think this is it exactly. Don't expect to ever see him in a Charlton shirt again and we're just sorting out the legals about terminating the loan.ElfsborgAddick said:

Well its clear he wasn't released purely for footballing reasonsAddicksi said:Doc was a limited footballer but gave everything he had, even playing on with a torn groin and helping us get over the line in the last couple of games in the previous season. Hopefully we didn't sign him for a season loan. Anybody know if we can return him in Jan?0
